As per channel 4 news tonight.
Increased fears for potential hospital attacks, escalating attacks, and now people unable to even call for ambulances. News outlets unable to know what’s actually going on. I just feel so sick, helpless and terrified for the people of Gaza 💔.

I just feel so damn helpless. Sitting here while those horrors are inflicted on 2 million people.
It’s just lacking any humanity what Israel are doing now.

Devastating 💔😢🇸🇩

Whu · 27/10/2023 22:54

There are a few fireworks going off round here and it is just mind blowing and stark that people in the west are enjoying celebrations with loud bangs and flashes while the citizen of Gaza face such horrors.
Tonight it’s horrific imagining what those people are experiencing.

Israel suddenly don't care about the hostages then?

Indiscriminately destroying the entire country but the hostages will be there somewhere

I thought that they wanted them back so badly? Perhaps not then..

Hamas have already told Israel that some of the hostages have been killed.

I was listening to Aljazeera a little while ago and a Hamas spokesman was interviewed and he came across as using civilian's deaths and their future deaths as a way of getting the world to see what Israel was doing.

A Hamas spokesperson also said a couple of weeks ago that they would not harm any of the hostages. So we'll all have to wait and see.

I meant that the hostages had been bombed - he did not say they were killed by Hamas but who knows.....

He also said that all talks were now off as the bombardment has increased this evening.

BeginningToLookALotLike · 27/10/2023 23:25

I don't trust anything that Hamas says, tbh. But if all talks are now off, that is very disappointing.

60,000 displaced people sheltering at the Al Shifa hospital

Will it still be there by morning? No. Not likely
Horrific

BeginningToLookALotLike · 27/10/2023 23:29

I still don't trust them. Why should I, after what they did on Oct 7? The hostages may have been cared for once they got to the tunnels but let's not forget that the 85 year old was beaten with sticks beforehand.

Israel claim that Hamas have supplies in their tunnels.
Hamas don't care about civilians and are using their deaths so the world will be anti Israeli.
Civilians voted for Hamas.

But none of the above matters. Unless civilians are carrying arms, they should not be targets in a war.

I watched a video a few days ago of a family going back to their home in Gaza because there was nowhere else to go. They said if they were going to die they’d die together, in their homes with dignity. I can’t get them out of my head.

Just as we are reminded Palestinian people are not Hamas, we need to be reminded that the Israeli people are not their government.

Many Israelis are horrified by what’s happening, I’m sure many of them ‘realise’.

Innocent civilians are innocent civilians, on both sides of the ‘fence’.

There are no words for this. Just what would you do? It all feels so hopeless

BeginningToLookALotLike · 27/10/2023 23:41

*And was then seen to medically afterwards. You're not going to have people willingly come with you, generally, and there were worse scuffles that led to shootouts.

Though at least they weren't amongst the ravers that had the IDF using them as shields and shooting wantonly into the crowd in panic.*

If you are trying to get me to approve of anything to do with Hamas, it isn't working.

Israeli intelligence was said to be the best in the world. The border was said to be the most secure in the world. Following her release from Hamas, Yocheved Lifschitz stated that they all knew, 3 weeks before the initial attack, that Hamas were planning something big. So did Israel drop the ball, or did they let it fall so they'd have a good excuse to invade and take over Palestine once and for all?

Well, yes, this is entirely logical. Judging by their subsequent determined and ruthless actions I'd say this is the most likely scenario, particularly with a new ultra nationalist government in place.

SomeCatFromJapan · 27/10/2023 23:47

Hamas are "ready" for the ground invasion per the Guardian.

Are we okay with doing conspiracy theories now? That's not getting deleted any more?
