400mg cyclogest after BFP...

will it stop me bleeding? Im worried that im not really pg anymore and my body doesnt know. i feel pg and no period symptoms at all but i dont want to build myself too high iykwim.

am only 4w2d now.

thanks duritz. my temp has stayed down (thank god) but got such a long way to go still. this'll be my first time with heparin, bit scared tbh. i dont think i need it, but will dance naked under an oak tree if it'll work! great news for you though eeek!

ok, am soick as a dog. went out last night and spent most of eveing running to loo. wanted to come home at 9.30. was sooo tired. had a spot of brown discharge though, so am worried now in case the cyclogest is just stopping the bleeding but i wont stop yet. will give it a few more days.

Surely profolatic antibiotics and / or predisolone should be added to the mix? Anyway don't suppose you want to hear that right now. Hope that things don't follow their normal course anyway.

bit crap. waiting for bleeding to start properly, still feel ill kind of sick and dizzy am still only spotting though. blood smells though (sorry if tmi)

There still could be a tiny bit of hope. Remember my post in the tea/coffee thread about spotting? I am still pg and almost 9 weeks. I believe the prog has done it for me.

Could be a UTI? I had one at around 4 weeks and they put the spotting down to this especially if it smells?

Julez is so right, there's still hope .. I had a massive sudden bleed of bright red blood at 12 weeks, just as I was beginning to feel safe IYKWIM ...

I was so sure that it was all over ..there was no doubt in my mind..but baby showed on an emergency scan to be kicking away and they never found any reason for the bleed...

As you know, I'm almost 22 weeks now .. So don't give up all hope sweetie ...We are all rooting for you ,xxxxxxxxxx

Just wanted to add with DS2 I bled ALOT from 5 weeks until 20 weeks

it really is all over. still not really bleeding but im in a lot of pain.

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain. I ended up in A&E yesterday due to excessive bleeding and pain. They are scanning me this morning to check what is going on as apparently despite the huge clots (one half the size the palm of my hand!), my cervix is still closed. They gave me wonderful morphine, spent the rest of the day high as a kite (until it wore off and I puked!).

Please consider going to GP/EPU for antibiotics just in case it is only a UTI as Jules had?

im a bit crap. bleeding has started v heavily, decided to use a tampon (yes, i know) so i wouldnt smell at work - hate that smell - and promptly lost it. so had to call nhs direct, then my gp but finally got it out myself. feeling v traumatised.

LOTGK - oh no, that is horrible. So sorry you had trauma on top of trauma.

Julez - hope that the IV drip is making you feel better. So sorry to hear you are in hospital.

My update, all gone except some clots still to come. hcg levels were 4000 yesterday, so have to have more bloods taken friday to check that it is falling. I am relieved it is confirmed as over.

oh rainbows, i am so sorry, but (and i mean this in the nicest possible way) im glad that its almost over.

Presently 8wks pg and this is after 20 weeks PPROM in May 2010. Didnt even know I was pg (saw period 2 weeks before) until I was rushed to emergency due to bleeding, thick clots and bleeding continued for half a day and doctors checked, heard no heart beat and saw no baby and conclusion was I was loosing the baby. Did a routine follow up 2 weeks ago and doctor saw baby, heard heartbeat and gives all clear. Put me on cyclogest 400mg 2ce a day and i knicker check every 10 mins(simle). Seen a bit of brown discharge 2ce and pink hue when I wipe, afraid to get my hopes high cause really want this to happen. Anyone with such an experience?

Hi all am new to this have had 3 mc to date had pos test put me straight on heparin and high dose colic acid however at first internal scan could only see an empty gestational sac. Nurse said could be because pregnancy was too early maybe 4-5 weeks however am terrified. Bloods show beta hcg levels very good but progesterone levels dropped significantly started spotting pink day after scan now on cyclogest twice a day still terrified will this mask a mc don't think I can go through another one however signs are there still spotting chronic backache with some lower tummy pain. Can anyone shed some light cos I don't really know what the cyclogest does.
