I'm POAS on Friday as well. I'll slap you if I see you sneaking in an early one

delilahbelle · 21/06/2010 20:52

I'm keeping everything crossed that we get a few more BFPs from this thread.

Only 4 more sleeps mad Prinpo and Rockbird, you can do it!

I've been having lots of fun online trying to calculate my EDD. Looks like 28/2/11 or 1/3/11.
Too scared to start a thread in Ante-natal, so I am going to hang round here for a bit long if that's OK.

Madasajarofwasps · 21/06/2010 21:01

lol Rockbird I know what you have been up to (sorry about your BFN) Friday's not that far away so we must resist!

Hi Prinpo oooh yes I am so yearning for number 3. Our first two were really close so I felt rather busy for quite a while, but now I am so so ready for another

You wanted a list of symptoms - here goes (I will look such a fool if this is all in my mind !!)

Metallic taste, cramps, sore boobs, grumpiness, tiredness, thirstiness, weeing lots, dry mouth, breathlessness, feeling slightly fluey, nausea, no desire to drink wine and dizziness. And a new one today is bloatedness. Not bad for someone determined not to symptom spot, I think I need help

sillybillymummy · 21/06/2010 21:09

Mad & Prinpo It will be our #3 too! I think this seems to be the scariest decision yet!

Mad How casual is your DH?

Prinpo I just said to him, someone suggests i get you drunk, and he said.. ok, but only after i've watched the football?! (which he knows irritates me.. because he hasn't really decided!)
So Mad i guess what i'm asking is... is your DH this casual? Mine just thinks everything is just getting really nice and we're starting to really enjoy our 2DC, and he doesn't want to ruin it all..

Delilah Congratulations! Hang around, you have much more right to be on this bus than me! I am more hanging on to the bumper, wishing i could get on..

sillybillymummy · 21/06/2010 21:14

Mad sorry i only just read your latest one. It sounds like you are! All of that cannot be in your head!
Please can you tell me the ages of you 2DC are? Hopefully, then i won't feel quite so insane!

Prinpo I have never been SO SO broody or 'yearned' this much... but maybe thats because i haven't had to beg DH before, its just happened so quickly. Also maybe its because i know how much happy happy amazing-ness a baby brings to our house/lives!

Madasajarofwasps · 21/06/2010 21:30

Hi sillybillymummy my DH is exactly the same he thinks life is easier now (our youngest dd will be 4 in Sept and her sister is 5). And tbh if I left it to him to make a decision then we would probably still be trying for no 1!! He's always known I want three children and I tried to have the grown up conversation with him about now is the time before I get to old and he always answered "do we have to talk about this now?" which is so him! He didn't say a def no, so I took the decision, but then he is intelligent enough to know that sex minus contraception might equal a baby. He drives me nuts but then he has always been like this, never really coming out and committing verbally to anything much!!! I do know that he will be over the moon if we have another, especially if its a boy , but I just can't get him to say it

sillybillymummy · 21/06/2010 21:48

mad you have made my day! This sounds exactly like my DH! We wouldn't have even had #1 either... infact, we wouldn't have even been engaged/married.. - i have to 'suggest' everything!
Up until now, that has been fine (i have managed really well on my own 7 days a week, as he is a workaholic!).. but there are SO many reasons, why this time, (since it will be our last), i just want him to show some enthusiasm! And i need him to be in on it, because i ended up having a c-sec last time, and am worried if this happens again, he will actually have to help/ take time off/ do a night feed here or there!
Mine are only 3 next week & 17 months.. i don't understand how i could feel like this - it must be because everyone around me is pregnant / has a newborn.
My only concern, is, should i wait until DS1 goes to school & DD1 preschool, so i can have some time with just #3. But i don't think i can wait that long.
Like you said, my DH knows that we aren't using contraception!
Sorry for turning the bus into should i go fo #3
Still dreaming of hopping on!

Madasajarofwasps · 21/06/2010 22:18

Aw bless - that is comforting to know that my DH isnt the only one. Like you I really want him to show lots of enthusiasm this time but I think I will just have to put up with the usual apathy!! We have waited this long because I found having two so close together very hard work especially as DH also works long hours so I did a lot on my own and my family are a long way away so I had very little support. I have been wanting another baby for some time and might have started trying last year but then I got a place in the London Marathon and went for that instead. At the time I sort of said is was something for me to do myself and the children were old enough for me to train while they were at school and nursery. I am so glad I did it as that is my personal achievement but as soon as it was over my mind turned to baby this and baby that!!

If you want to go for it now, go for it. Tbh most of my friends with three dc all say that the change from 2 to 3 is not that huge compared to 1 to 2. If it feels right, it feels right, and who knows how long it might take, not be be negative but it could take 6months or so. I think your gaps will be fine, I worry about having a big gap for a third now as my dd's are so close as friends. I wish you all the best and hope that you can hop on board the bus soon xx

sillybillymummy · 21/06/2010 22:55

I know what you mean re: support, my family all live in different countries!
I also know what you mean about needing a challenge and something to do for yourself. I think it will be a long time before i can do anything like that, and so if i'm having 3, i should get on with it, and then get a little bit of my own life/ challenges/ career back when the last one goes to school!

There are plenty of pro's & con's for every age gap. Atleast you will have plenty of quality time with your #3 and your DD's will adore DC3!

Might take your advice mad
So...

Im never going to get pregnant at this rate.He left the flippin country again too...hows that for contraception!

Rockbird · 22/06/2010 12:20

Well I had another BFN this morning, 3 days early (I know, I know!) but I think a pg test would pick it up this early as it's an internet cheapie 10miu test. And I absolutely don't feel pg at all.

Prinpo · 22/06/2010 12:45

Sorry to hear that AF got you, Impatient, but glad to see you're still on this bus.

Totallyfloaty, that absolutely sucks! SWI on Sunday followed by ov on Tuesday puts you in the running, though. Has he given any reasons for changing his mind? Perhaps he's over-thinking it? So sorry, you must be feeling miserable and absolutely furious. I hope you're able to have a good talk about it when he gets back from his trip.

Rockbird, I thought you were POAS on Friday???

delilahbelle · 22/06/2010 13:11

Sorry to hear that Impatient hopefully another cycle will make all the difference.

Totallyfloaty I know where you are with 'd'h changing their mind... in the early days for us mine would be saying yes/no within every day. Talking about it helped, and spending time with his cute niece and nephew. I'll keep my fingers crossed things work out for you.

Rockbird STEP AWAY FROM THE STICK it's too early, fingers crossed you are this cycle and it's too early to tell.

sillybilly welcome to the bus, hope you have a fruitful journey.

As for me... still pregnant, too scared to start a thread in Ante-natal though, it feels too early.
Tried to make an appointment with the doctor - mine isn't in today and stupid receptionist wouldn't book me in for a time after work tomorrow, just said I would have to phone an take my chance. I can see me having to take hours off just for a 10min appointment with the GP. Grr NHS.

Madasajarofwasps · 22/06/2010 13:20

Rockbird I admire your self control!!! Aw I totally understand your impatience. I almost cracked and went to Boots today, but resisted. There are no tests in the house so I can't test and tomorrow I won't have the opportunity to get one so it looks like Thursday might be the day. Why is it when you think you should test all the symptoms seem to fade away??! So sorry its another BFN but you are testing early [finger waving emoticon] so there is still hope. Try and hang on til Thurs at the earliest

totallyfloaty that is tough, but I have to say men just don't seem to get excited about this baby making malarkey. To them there is another month and another month, but to us we have a real sense of urgency. Hope you get to talk when he comes back. Keep your chin up

Fed up with waiting now - I NEED to know!!

BUnderTheBonnet · 22/06/2010 17:05

Here's the grad's thread. There's a few people coming up to POAS, so hopefully it will start to fill up soon. Otherwise, I'll keep posting to myself to keep it bumped...

delilahbelle · 22/06/2010 17:51

I'll join you B - it would B rude not to. (ho ho ho)

UniMummy · 22/06/2010 19:09

Hi everyone . Been lurking here for a while but very new to actually posting! Congrats to those with a bfp

I'm in the 2nd month of ttc as af got me today. My stats are ttc#2 cycle2 ucl 29 cd1, (i think that's right?!) Not holding out much hope for a while though as have only just started medication for a thyroid issue that was stopping ovulation. Tried for several months last year with no luck, but this bus will hopefully bring us all luck this time!

Madasajarofwasps · 22/06/2010 20:10

Welcome aboard unimummy I hope this is a lucky month for you. Fingers crossed you'll be ovulating regularly soon .

Rockbird I hope you are okay. I am starting to crumble with my resolve not to test. I really must try to wait til Thurs and not change my plans tomorrow just so I can pass a chemist. The not knowing is tough.

Bunderbonnet and Delilahbelle I hope you have some company soon. Some people at the front of teh bus should be testing soon, oh I really hope we have some more bfp's on here.

BUnderTheBonnet · 22/06/2010 20:15

ttc did you phone your GP?

MyCatLikesToHideInBoxes · 22/06/2010 20:28

Hi all,

Can I join for a short hop?

Big congrats to B and Delilah, baby dust to everyone else...

I've been lurking for the past week or so feeling like a ttc forum fraud as dh and I weren't actually ttc this month (planning to start in Sept) but got a bit carried away with the romance of a trip away without ds for a friends wedding at just the right time.

Anyway, I have now swung between being definitely pregnant and definitely bonkers so many times I've lost count, am even symptom spotting in my dreams, POAS at a ridiculously early 6 dpo even thought I knew it would be BFN and I can't tell you how much better it's made me feel to know I'm not the only one going through this 2ww hell! I have a FRER sitting in the draw which I reckon is worth a try on thursday.

So, for this month only (until sept) I am MyCatLikesToHideInBoxes ttc#2 cycle 1 ucl 27-30 cd23

delilah may I suggest you skip the gp and book a 'booking in' appointment with the midwife - in my experience the gp is just a formality where they check you're taking folic acid etc then tell you to see the midwife. Mine didn't even check I was actually pg!

xx teason
