Hello

Sorry for the silly title.

I am just excited as this month will be the first month in my life were my partner and I will trying for a baby. We have a two year old dd who was a great surprise and gift to us. I have been wanting a baby since she was about 8 months old so I have held out long enough
Because it is our first time trying I thought we could have some fun and try all the tips they say to conceive a boy. But I do not care that much about the gender as long as they are a happy, healthy baby who loves their sleep
So next week is my ovulation date. I took up twigletts advice and checked out ttc.fertilityfriend.com, you enter your last period date and it tells you your exact ovulation date with lots of tips so next weekend is our big day or shall I say weekend!!!
Its funny but since we have decided to start trying my sex drive has gone of the scale and my dh cant beleive his luck, its almost frightened him. I am like a women on a mission
So look forward to hearing from any others who are going to be trying this month and goodluck to you all!

Baby dust all around!

x

Bubble - laughing at him being saucier coz a DP he is going to stay (no marriage for us, his 1st lasted under a year)!!!! He is a proper sweetie though, currently cooking my tea for me... bless

Feeling a bit better today, knowing that we are going to be making a "proper" effort from now. Thank you for your kind words, it is SO hard sometimes when you so desperately want a bundle of baby...

Am def going to give the pineapple, vit B and carnelian (sp) a go - hey, if you told me that going to the supermarket in my just pants would get me pg, I'd give it a go!!! It def won't work if I don't try it (your suggestion, not mine!)

Another sign of imminent ovulation is cervical position and softeness. And yes, I'm afraid this does involve a lot of prodding about. At the peak point of fertility during a cycle the cervix is soft and low. At other times the cervix is difficult to reach and hard. A soft cervix is more pliable and able to receive sperm and the low position ie. closer to the vagina means that sperm can reach it more easily. It's interesting that CP (cervical position) is also one of the assessments used to establish whether labour is imminent. A soft, low cervix responds and lets a baby out, or is favourable to receiving Prostin gel to start labour in the same way that a soft, low cervix allows sperm in to (hopefully) create a pregnancy.

So, another weapon in our TTC armoury Not the most graceful manoeuvre to perform admittedly. My cervix, after three pregnancies, is not remotely shy however and probably shouts 'Cooee!' at anyone passing when I'm not looking. At my last smear test the practice nurse found a set of lost car-keys and an entire scout-troupe.

Good morning. How is everyone?

Artoo · 09/08/2005 10:32

Feeling somewhat narked here, I just called the surgery to see if my smear test results were available yet (it's only 5 weeks, and they did say allow 6 to 8 at the time, but I thought well you never know). They don't have my results, which apparently come direct to me in the post, but they also said results are currently taking 8-10 weeks to come back.

At this rate we'll miss this cycle, and I'll be looking at a summer baby at the earliest... Grrrr...

Hugs,
Artoo.

bubble99 · 09/08/2005 10:44

Sorry to hear that Artoo. It's just not worth risking it though is it? I'm so impatient to get going that having to miss a month would really P me off too.

I suspect I may be trying for a summer baby as well. My first AF since pregnancy, or what I thought was AF, turned up again last Friday but was really light and only lasted for a day. I'm going to try using an OPK this month but it will be difficult as I have no idea how long my cycle length is now.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/08/2005 12:05

Morning

My cycle has altered since loosing Philippa in April so I am in the same boat Bubble99.I used ov kits last month and have got another pack ready for next week.Ive just seen the back of AF and I am going to start testing earlier than I should incase my cycle reverts back to 28 days.

Hoping that I am pregnant by the time mat leave ends (Oct). Will be gutted if not

Roobedoo · 09/08/2005 13:20

Bubble - lol at your smear description!
Artoo, I know it's horrible to have to delay but it really is the sensible thing to do if the results don't come back. I had bad results a few months ago and had to go through the whole colposcopy/loop diathermy business, but at least my mind is at rest now as they say they got everything and it was benign anyway.

Good luck to everyone and lots of strength for BD (had a practice run this morning !)

Hello ladies

Its a beautiful day

I am excited about this weekend, I have to stop arguing with dh though. Today we both lost our temper with each other as there are a few stressful things going on in our families right now so I think that is why. Just hope we dont argue at the weekend as otherwose I will have to wait until the next time around.

Today two different people with two children (toddler and baby) told me how hard it is with two and for a second i thought to myself "am i really ready?" all i know is that i will probably be never ready to tackle all the stress with two children but i am ready to love another little person and hopefully bring them up as well as my dd. I am amazed at how lovely and polite she is, she makes me proud.

Artoo - hang in there, i know its frustrating. Does not stop you practicing though. x

Hello ladies! As many of us are overlapping between this and the spring baby thread, I just wanted to wish you all luck.
I'm about to start a new 'spring' thread as the current one is getting too long. Perhaps we could merge? After all, the more luck and support, the better.
Up to you, of course

Jen1209 · 09/08/2005 18:46

Good plan HM as I am getting v confused now between threads!

lovecloud · 09/08/2005 19:06
