Am due today. AF not here yet so constantly running to the loo to check for evidence, constantly trying to work out if my areolas are darker, my boobs are bigger, my belly aching or my head aching! Did a test on Monday but BFN, prob too early either way. Is anyone else out there as barmy as me? TTC number 2 -took 4 years to persuade DP, so keen to get a BFP asap.

Congratulations goshow What fantastic news!
Good luck everyone with AF due soon!

whammie76 · 07/01/2010 22:19

Goshow - that's great news, a bfp whay hay! What's the test you used? Is it a digital one that estimates how many weeks? Sorry if I sound stupid, but never knew you could get fancy tests like that - may have to upgrade my 2 for 99p pee sticks lol.

Sorry to hear about your bfn yellowflowers, fx for the next 3/4 weeks to come - and everyone else of course. xx

I've still got 2-3 days before AF should come, got a sore tummy at the minute, but that could have something to do with the chipie I had for tea - should have known it wouldn't agree with me. I'm actually dreading doing a test, don't want to know if it's a bfn.

goandshowdaddy · 08/01/2010 08:55

Hi Whammie,

Yes I used a Clearblue Digital. I wasn't sure what date I was due on AF but tested on day 26 (previous two cycles were 29 and 25 days) and it said I was 1-2 weeks which the doc will then date me as 3-4 weeks.

I wasn't really that bothered about the estimation of weeks to be honest, just liked the fact that it said the word 'pregnant' or 'not pregnant' rather than trying to decipher whether there is a line or not on a regular test.

Having said that, I'm off to get a cheapie test today, just to double check!!

Good luck whammie x

oh crap LunaticFringe, really sorry to hear that, but do enjoy the wine and cheese.

Good luck for the next cycle

Hi All, well I finally gave in 2 nights ago and did a test - it was a BFN. I'm more annoyed than upset, cause I tested on the day I estimated AF was due (Sat) - well it's still not appeared and if it doesn't come by this weekend I'll retest. I just can't get my head round these cramps I've been getting since xmas, although they've been more period type cramps the last couple of days, which makes me think AF is looming.

I never told OH I done a test yet , couldn't face saying I wasn't just yet. Oh well roll on the w/end.

wham x

goandshowdaddy · 13/01/2010 11:03

Hi whammie,

No sign of AF is a good sign though, no? Maybe you have just tested too early. I tested with a BFN about 5 days before my BFP so you never know.

Keep us posted - I don't think I'd be able to wait until the weekend to retest though...!

xx

whammie76 · 13/01/2010 22:49

Hi goandshow,

Well, I gave in on Monday and done another cheapie test - still BFN . It was prob too soon to retest, but the suspense is awful. I will def wait until the weekend to do another test (last one I've got), if AF hasn't appeared. Had no period type cramps in last 2 days, but still sore abdomen - even jabby pains below my stomach. Find it odd if AF is just really late this month (first cycle we've started ttc), yet since I came off pill in summer my AF has been regular ev month.

How are you getting? Have you been to your gp yet? Keep us posted and thanks for the advice - it's given me a wee glimmer of hope.

wham xx

whammie76 · 13/01/2010 22:52

I meant I gave retested today, not monday.

whammie76 · 13/01/2010 22:53

spelling gets worse lol - have not gave!

goandshowdaddy · 14/01/2010 08:29

Hi whammie,

It does sound promising - as you say, if you're usually so regular where is AF??! Ooh, I'm excited on your behalf!!!

I'm OK ta. Feels like the days are really dragging though - it will be forever until my first scan. I've not phoned the doc yet - not sure why I'm putting it off. Think it's cos it's still so early (5 weeks Saturday) that I just want to wait a bit longer. I still keep expecting AF to appear to be honest.

Had a lovely nap on the sofa yesterday afternoon though (which I never do) and do certainly feel more tired than usual. Other than that, not really had any other symptoms other than a bit of a niggly ache/jabby pains (hmm, sounds like your symptoms!).

Hope you manage to hold out till Saturday and that it's good news. Let us know...!

whammie76 · 14/01/2010 23:51

I hope I do manage to resist a test until the weekend. Nice to hear you're doing fine. TC xx

goandshowdaddy · 16/01/2010 12:52

Any news whammie?? x

whammie76 · 16/01/2010 17:26

Hi goandshow, I've not done it yet!!

Been really busy today, but I've had quite bad period type cramps. I was at Tesco's and was really getting bad pains while carrying my heavy basket. I had these cramps yesterday too at work, so was sure AF was coming, but it's not appeared yet.

Cause of these cramps, I keep thinking AF must be on it's way. Am I better testing in the morning or does it not matter?

goandshowdaddy · 17/01/2010 12:31

Whammie, I can't believe you've resisted this long! Do the test, do the test!!!!

The first response tests say you can test anytime of day but obviously the preg hormone is higher first thing in the morning.

So, have you done it yet??!

xx

whammie76 · 17/01/2010 21:15

I've done it - got a BFP!! OMG I am so happy.

I resisted doing a test before now, cause the other two tests I done were both negative, so was dreading if it was another. Was so sure AF was upon me this weekend as the cramps last 2 days were exactly like period cramps.

It hasn't really sunk in yet. xx

mumnerves · 17/01/2010 21:21

Congratulations whammie76

whammie76 · 17/01/2010 21:23

Thank you mumnerves xx

goandshowdaddy · 17/01/2010 22:11

Hooray hooray hooray for whammie!!! I did wonder as you were getting the cramps and no sign of AF! Wow, great, so we're due around the same time then? How many weeks do you think you are? I'm about 5.

Congratulations, so pleased for you!

decafgirl · 17/01/2010 22:26

CONGRATULATIONS!! (from a secret lurker....)

Am 2 days into the 2ww xxxx

whammie76 · 17/01/2010 22:27

Hi goandshow,

Thank you - sitting here and still can't quite believe it. I checked on one of those calculators, so according to that I'm about 5 weeks too! Yes, we'll be due round about the same time - ooohhh that's so exciting!

whammie76 · 17/01/2010 22:30

Hi decaf - thank you.

Hope your 2ww doesn't drag for you, as it felt like it did for me. I'll be on checking for news, sending good luck vibes. All fx for you. xx
