Am due today. AF not here yet so constantly running to the loo to check for evidence, constantly trying to work out if my areolas are darker, my boobs are bigger, my belly aching or my head aching! Did a test on Monday but BFN, prob too early either way. Is anyone else out there as barmy as me? TTC number 2 -took 4 years to persuade DP, so keen to get a BFP asap.

yellowflowers - (((hugs))) fx there will be a chance it won't be af. xx

Ladybee - I've never had the metallic taste symptom, fx for you too that there won't be a visit from af.

I'm just trying to put everything to the back of my mind at the mo, still got a week to go before I can/should wait to test.

goandshowdaddy · 04/01/2010 22:47

Ah yellowflowers, I know how you feel - I've got the AF symptoms building up so just know it'll be any day now (even though I'm only on day 23 - grr).

LadyBee, I do the same thing - 'hmm, what could that strange ache in my abdomen be?', 'Don't be daft, of course it's AF on the way.' And every time I'm left disappointed as I'm secretly hoping that I'll be wrong this time.

whammie, I never had the metallic taste either - strangely enough, today I tasted soap. Maybe I hadn't rinsed my hands properly. Hmm - off to google for early pregnancy soap taste symptoms...

yellowflowers · 05/01/2010 14:36

hey all. Still waiting - but it usually shows up at bedtime. I had metallic taste last month - turned out we had a gas leak and it was one of the symptoms of mild poisoning!!!!

Ah, you see, I wasn't about to allow snow to get between me and possibly testing - I made sure DH bought one on the way home. I thought having it in the house would make it unbearable, but actually I feel a bit more relaxed knowing I could test, but will wait a bit longer. I'm like you yellowflowers, AF always comes around midnight for me too and I'm getting twinges so feel fairly sure it's on the way

Well yesterday (14dpo) I was convinced AF coming and a teensy bit of spotting ( - okay, I rummaged!) but today is 15dpo and nothing yet... Also a temp rise - well kind of. Woke at 5.30am and a temp drop. Back to sleep. At 8am a temp rise - hmmmm, which do I count? (Well obv as still holing out hope I am counting the rise!)

But did Tesco test this am and bfn. So AF will probs shows up in next hour or so - usually if not here on time I just have to post xciting MN message to make it come.

Good luck all of you.
x

goandshowdaddy · 06/01/2010 12:52

Yellowflowers, I don't really know anything about temp taking so can't help you there - I would do as you have though, and count the rise!

Will you test again tomorrow or wait a few more days? I don't think I could resist. FX for you.

I've been ridiculously symptom spotting today. Had horrid sinus headaches for the last few days (I'm sure it's just plain old sinusitis) and decided to google 'headaches in early pregnancy' and low and behold sinus headaches come up as a symptom. Yeah, something for me to latch onto.

Only on CD25 though and am desperately trying to avoid taking that last test in my drawer! Help me hang on a few more days - please?

yellowflowers · 06/01/2010 14:52

oooh good luck goandshow.

I did a cheapie test this pm and bfn. Doh - couldn;t help myself. Then went in bedroom to throw away one from this am and there was v faint positive but 6 hours after I did it so obv has to be discounted. Of course I will test tomorrow - I have no willpower. But I feel a little crampy and am pretty sure af is on way.

Well, do NOT follow my example. I tested when I woke up this morning. BFN. 1/2 hour later, AF started. What a waste of a test!! if I could just have held on for another day until I was actually 'late' not just 'due' then I would have known the answer without chucking another test in the bin.

Feel a bit pissed off but not too bad. DH just said, "well, we'll just crack on then", which somehow made me feel better..of course, we just try again this cycle..see what happens and cross fingers.

Hope it's better news for you ladies

Sorry about your BFN LadyBee. >

Goandshow - I've been trying to avoid my test in my drawer too, keep seeing it every morning.

It's like this second week of the 2ww is going as slow as possible, still got 4/5 days to go until AF should surprise me - which it no doubt will.

LunaticFringe - don't give into the cigarette - I'm hoping you were joking lol

Yellowflowers - didn't know you could do a temp reading thingy, prob too complicated for me lol.

Sending you all bfp vibes. xx

mumofzac · 06/01/2010 20:41

alliwantforxmashere with new name. Am still following this thread, seeing how you are all getting on. Yellow Flowers - I would be really excited by a 6 hour late BFP, that's the sort of girl I am! Sorry to hear your news LadyBee. Will join you for next month. Whammie76 and goandshowdaddy - good luck for you both, someone has to be sucessful from this thread, surely! x

yellowflowers · 06/01/2010 20:42

Hi. I've done that so many times ladybee. That's why I buy cheap tests from Internet now so I don't waste too much cash. I've just spent a tenner on a digital to try tomorrow if still no af.

Good luck everyone. Hope no periods show overnight.

X

mumnerves · 06/01/2010 22:35

Hey ladybee I got AF today too

Big hugs to you, just wanted to say I know exactly how you feel, I wasted a test on sunday too!

LadyBee · 06/01/2010 22:52

Thanks for the wine and sympathy, I have indulged in both tonight
@ Mumnerves, good to know I'm not alone.

@LunaticFringe, don't know whether to say 'chin up, might all be great' - or just offer a MNly shoulder squeeze. Before I tested -ve and was still half believing I might be, I was convinced that even if I was it wouldn't work out IYSWIM

My biggest up today has been thinking, 'oh well, now I can start the metformin' - GP prescribed it to me as have PCOS and was on it last time I conceived (and held pg).

yellowflowers · 07/01/2010 09:29

my af has arrived too

goandshowdaddy · 07/01/2010 09:29

Morning all. Gave in and did a test this morning and got a BFP! It said 1-2 weeks though so still very early days - fingers crossed eh?

Good luck to you all. Keep us posted - I'll be following this thread to see how you're getting on. xx

LadyBee · 07/01/2010 09:40

Yellowflowers - too bad, hope you don't feel too down about it and have lots of chocolate on hand.

But yay!!!!! Goandshowdaddy! congratulations...yes it's early, but it's lovely news and I'm pleased someone on this thread got some

yellowflowers · 07/01/2010 09:47

LunaticFringe you don't really need me to say it do you??

Wait three days and test again if no AF...repeat ad nauseum

I wouldn't be surprised if your cycle is a bit later.

Three days now...you can do it.
