spirael please please dont apologise for feeling the way you do. You have been through a lot (again I dont know personally how it feels), it must be even harder been around expecting people and you are allowed to feel like this, you are grieving.

I just hope that your af arrives soon so you know where you are with dates etc.

pixiestix · 07/10/2009 14:44

Spirael - Im so sorry you are having a tough time, I can't imagine how hard yesterday in the office must have been for you. Hopefully you will get your AF soon and you will know that everything is good to go.

Fulham - you always give everyone such good advice!

Well, like Claire and Ozzie I am pretty much in the fertile time of the month now and everyday is a struggle to get DH to "put out" LOL.
Not very romantic really in our house at the moment. I feel like I'm ready to scream if he is not in the mood, and I wish that I could get some of your "Laid-backness" Claire (excellent word Zippys!!!!)
Its just so annoying - it seems like he is always up for it the week after and the week before AF. Then the middle of the month = not interested. Maybe its his subconscious screaming "Ahh don't make me a dad!"
although he insists that he really really wants a baby.
I will persevere though!!!!

Ladyemmalou83 · 07/10/2009 18:29

Evening Girlies

Nothing exciting to report here today, Got sent home from work as was spending more time in the ladies, than working (wasnt that pleasant), and had docs for bloods today, only once they got the needle in they couldnt pull blood.

Only 6 days till I would feel confident to take a test, as it will be 2 weeks since guesstimated OV. Not going to wait for AF due day as it never comes on the same day.

Pix I so understand what you mean with regards to DH. I have had exactly the same with mine DH, interested when it doesnt count, and when I need him there for goods delivery he isnt too interested. Yet he seems to be getting more interested in the rest of it....MEN Pah! They are defo from Mars!!

Ozziegirly · 07/10/2009 23:53

spirael also sorry to hear you're having a tough time. A colleague of mine announced his wife is pregnant and same here, everyone starts talking about babies and I get the pointed "how long have you and DH been married"? "5 years" - "oh right".....sly smile.

And I just want to say "we're trying as hard as we can FFS"!

Still, I am off to Sydney tonight for work which should be nice, always good to have a change of scenery.

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 08/10/2009 08:37

spirael so sorry to hear things are so tough. Hopefully AF will come along soon and you can start again.

Ozziegirly enjoy your trip to Sydney. Will probably be a relief to get out of a cooing workplace!

I'm emerging from my AF gloom and trying to establish a regular temping regime so that I'm fully informed this month. Information is power (or at least more ammunition for obsessive symptom spotting!)

Good luck to all those entering their fertile patch - hope you manage to get your recalcitrant DHs to perform!

Spirael · 08/10/2009 09:00

Thanks so much for the support, everyone. It really helps to have somewhere to come and talk about everything that's going on with such kind people. Thank you all so much! I'm feeling much better today, after finally getting some quality sleep last night. My wonderful DH spoilt me rotten all evening and packed me off to a toasty warm bed nice and early.

ImmaterialGirl · 08/10/2009 09:40

Morning all,

Spirael just wanted to add my voice to thoes saying I'm so sorry you're feeling down at the moment. People can really be inconsiderate sometimes. How could she even think that DH freaking out over becoming a father should make you feel better .

You DH sounds lovely though! It's good to be spoilt

Morning all

Rather stupidly last night and this morning I thought I would have a sneaky POAS session, both Neg. I thought as I had now entered the earliest AF could arrive I would try, but being realistic it prob tuesday where I could see a proper result, as its 2weeks since OV. They were only poundland cheapo tests (2 for quid - not bad), and was the result was expected, but there we go

Spiral sorry you have to work with idiots like that. Ive too many times where somebody says something insensative. Hope things get much better for you.

Going to try a non symptom spotting day. Shall try not to get distracted by SS whilst in seriously long meeting this afternoon....

CJ2007 · 08/10/2009 11:37

Hi all. Sorry I haven't posted in a long while, I have been keeping up with all of your news.

Must say I empathize with the discussion on dh wanting it most when I don't!!!

Nothing particlarly new with me, just plodding on!!

need to say I was sorry to hear your sad news spirael, hoping things improve for you soon
big hugs.

Just a quick message before I go home, just been to the loo and really excited to see EWCM

Now got to rush home

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 08/10/2009 20:34

Oooh, exciting stuff zippys. I hope you're busy making the most of it!!

aly323 · 08/10/2009 21:51

Congrats on the EWCM Zippys! have fun making the most of it. I'm a little envious of those of you that get it. I used to when I was younger, but not anymore. It could be because of my age, due to a cervical biopsy I had done years ago, or because of low estrogen leverls. It would be nice to see some, so I'm on a mission this month to try to make it happen (I've got mucinex stocked and ready to go). Otherwise, I'll use my fallback, preseed (which I actually really, really like).

I just spent the morning in a complete freak out. Unfortunately, I even cried inside my office in front of some friends. My cd3 test results were posted and FSH and Thyroid levels were good. My estradiol was very low according to what I've been researching. No doctor was available to discuss, so I left a message and started researching on my own. BIG MISTAKE! I found that low levels could indicate infertility, bad eggs, early menopause, a big risk of getting alzheimers and worst of all, it could indicate ovarian or other cancer. My mom died at 52 of ovarian cancer and my uncle died very young of cancer. It was just a little too much for me to consider at once, possibly infertile is tough enough, but the cancer thing... Some tears fell and now I am very embarrassed.

Good new is- I finally talked to the doctor and she says my levels on the others makes her feel very positive and the estradiol levels don't make her worry about my fertilty at all, however, she will refer me right now to both a genetics person (to look into genetic markers for cancers) and a fertility doctor so that I can get some peace of mind. When I'm not TTC, I can go back on the pill to help raise the levels a little which may help me to feel bettter. It helped to get me out of the crazies I was falling into.

This stuff can be so stressful. I've also found out that I have some newly pregnant cousins and an "accidentally" pregnant 40 year-old single friend who had a one night stand. We need some BFP's on here to distract everyone!! (The BFP's make me happy when they're from you guys!

We seem to have a lot of people who are in or nearing the "getting busy" time of the month. Good luck, and have fun to all of you!

zippys · 09/10/2009 08:28

Oh aly I am so sorry to hear that you have been having a rough time , google and research can be pretty scary at times! I am glad that the news from the docs was a lot better than you had in mind, hopefully the referrals should now help. As you said it is bad enough worrying about ttc never mind other worries on top of that!

It's weird I am so jealous of any other pregant people yet willing all of us here to get those BFP. I watched a programme about underage mums the other night and was in tears by the end of it, thinking it was just not fair, just one night and they fall pregnant yet we have here trying so hard and wanting it so much.

Thanks for the congrats on my EWCM (never thought I would be saying that ) I have never really had it before so got stupidly excited! And yes we did make the most of it

lady anymore news yet?, remember it is not over until AF arrives, keeping my fingers crossed for you and anyone else coming up to testing.

Can I ask a rather weird personal question? Last night after we had done the deed I laid where I was with legs up for about 10 mins but then went to the loo to clean up. Does anyone else feel that this is then wasting potential sperm and that you could actually be wiping away your chance of getting pregnant? I know this is irrational but I just worry I am ruining my chances! (apologies in advance if this is even too personal for here

ImmaterialGirl · 09/10/2009 09:19

Morning all,

xippys -I also got stupidly excited the first time I noticed CM. Never even thought about stuff like that before this TTC lark all started. Glad you were able to make the most of it!

ladyem sorry about BFN but it was early as you say... Do you know when you'll test again?

aly I'm so sorry about your freak out. I can sympathise, I went through a similar thing. Was told I had 'someting abnormal' with my lungs just before the summer this year, and had to have two CAT scans, numerous blood and breathing tests, etc. Every time I had a new test I ended up googling what it meant, even though I knew it was a bad idea -Google almost any symptom and you'll easily find someone telling you you're about to drop dead in the next five minutes. In the end I was told I'm ok though... And I'm very glad you are too

OP posts:
ImmaterialGirl · 09/10/2009 09:24

oh, and your question zippys (and I don't think anything counts as too personal here )
I did worry about it in the beginning, but reading about it on here and hearing from others, I'm pretty sure that the stuff that runs out of you, so to speak, is a lost cause anyway. Only some sperm makes it through the cervix, the rest runs out. But enough of it usually makes it through, so the sperm running out is nothing to worry about. You're fine to wipe/clean yourself up.

OP posts:
Ladyemmalou83 · 09/10/2009 10:28

Im going to hold off testing till tuesday at the earliest. I still think mother nature will beat me there, but Im going to remain hopeful. Mother nature likes to keep us all guessing...

Spirael · 09/10/2009 10:48

Sorry to hear about your health scare, aly323. I'm sure everything will be ok though! There are probably loads of perfectly harmless reasons why the levels could have been a bit off, they might even have made a mistake with the tests and you were fine all along. Hopefully everything will turn out ok! It sounds like your doctor is optimistic, which is always encouraging.

Glad to hear lots of people are having fun through the middle of the cycle! Keep up the pace everyone! I'm rooting for you all!

Still nothing to report here, really. No AF yet, so I can only assume my uncharacteristic outburst earlier in the week was either a genuine upset or left over hormones from the MC. My temps are finally looking slightly less chaotic and I have a vague suspicion that I might have ovulated towards the end of last week. DTD at the appropriate times, that being the case, so fingers crossed that I might still have a chance this month. Sadly, I won't know for at least another week!

kkas · 09/10/2009 13:37

aly sorry to hear about your worries but you are in my thoughts. keep us posted on any updates!

lady good luck testing. fingers crossed!

AF came yesterday, ladies. so it's back to CD2 for me. but at least that means that I have had 2 'regular' 28 day cycles since being off the pill. And i have now actually taken folic acid for 3 months, so I won't be worried about that if I fall pg this month

Also am rewarding myself with a trip to boots to buy a thermometer. stepping up to the challenge! (plus a weekend of chocolate brie and booze)

Kkas sorry about AF, she seems to be attacking many I know who are TTC at the moment.

I know its random, but I thought I would share:

Just saw 2 magpies in my garden, so I thought you would all like some of the luck that they are meant to have when in pairs. Fingers crossed it works for all of us

aly323 · 10/10/2009 05:08

I'm so sorry to hear af caught you Kkas. Chocolate, brie and booze sounds like a good plan. They always make me feel better (until I get hit by the big hangover, but at least even that keeps me distracted!). You should definitely get a thermometer. I've really enjoyed watching how my temp changes. It's reassuring to see the temp changes. However, it is a pain to wake up at 6am on the weekends just to take the temp.

Spirael, I hope you caught that egg! It's so frustrating when your body is off it's normal course.

Ladyem, news??? Sevans, how are you feeling?

My gyno called again today to let me know that she spoke to some other doctors regarding my odd results and everyone agrees that they're odd, but not bad. I'm feeling much better about it now. I'm just ready for some days to pass so that I can start actively start working on making a baby! Time passes so slowly when you're ttc. Wouldn't it be nice if we didn't have to wait so dang long in between cycles!

I ordered more opk's a few days ago and they accidentally sent all HPT's instead. They told me to keep the HPT's and they'll be sending OPK's asap. This means I now have around 40 HPT's in the house. That's just crazy.

Ladyemmalou83 · 10/10/2009 05:18

Morning Aly, glad im not the only one who gets up and comes on here!

Advice please from everyone and anyone, please [blush)

Imagine my horror when I looked on fertility friend and realised I have actually ovulated later than I thought!!!! I thought it was the tuesday, but shock horror it was thursday , so now my 2ww is actually a 2 1/2 ww. Thought I was 12DPO, but actually 9DPO. Help me out here please:

  1. Should I beleive fertility friend as had eggwhite for the 1st time on the tuesday and then about3-4 days after?
  2. We only shagged up until the tuesday night as thought it was job done, plus DH was not wanting much more. Is it enough?
  3. Is it safe to say thats why Ive had BFN, yet some symptoms starting to set in?
  4. Lower back ache and cramps the last few days. Implantation pains maybe, or still to early?
  5. And finally: Why does AF feel like she is just round the corner?

Answers on a postcard to: [email protected]!

aly323 · 10/10/2009 06:14

I don't know much but I'll give it a shot since we're the only two around right now .

  1. Lot's of people have issues with fertility friend and say they often get the ovulation day wrong. From what I see on there, you pretty much can tell on your own when you ovulated and ignore their lines. When did your temp rise? Did you get any pains?
  1. If you ov'd on Thursday, you're likely still in good shape. This is especially true since you had EWCM. The sperm settle into it and wait for the egg. They say they can last 5 days, so two isn't unlikely. If you ov'd 24 hours ago, you're likely outside of the fertile period, so don't get too bummed if you can't get DH to...
  1. yup! I spend a lot of time looking in the fertility friend chart gallery. (I'm obsessed, but that's where I see many, many charts where they saw ov is one day, but it seems pretty obvious that it happened at another time). There are a few BFP's on 9dpo but A LOT more where they don't show up till much later. Many of these are neg on 9, but pos later.
  1. Could be! implantation usually happens dpo 6-10.
  1. I hear that lots of women feel af symptoms before BFP. For me, I'm now paying much closer attention to my body, so I notice af symptoms much earlier than I ever did before.

Don't know if this was helpful at all, but I really, really hope you get your BFP. Do you know how to link your chart here? Maybe someone could look at it to help you pinpoint your ov.

I haven't been around for a while please can someone update me!

I've been staying away and trying not to think about it all but as now on CD 30 of 33 it's hard not to think about it!

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Hi blues welcome to our club I've added you to today's list below.

aly i know what you mean about waking up early on the weekend to temp. but i suppose it's good practice for later on! and at least at this stage i can roll over and go back to sleep. i'll let you know how i get on with the temping.

lady i really don't know the answer to your questions. but i would just keep positive thinking about it as there is nothing you can do to change it now. i think aly is right about sperms hanging around awhile, so even if it was thurs, you should be fine

hope everyone has a nice weekend!
