lia I'm suffering some real nasty cramps! It feels like it's on the way and I have been known to have the odd 26 day cycle. I know it's not over yet! Just trying to not get my hopes up.

Was wondering who's got their hubby taking supplements? Mine is dead against supplements, he's a right pain! I think that after 6months of trying he should really think about it tho

sayanything · 15/09/2009 19:36

Hello all. May I please hop on too?

I got my period on Saturday (my wedding day of all days...) so that would make my stats:

SayAnything TTC#1 Cycle 3 UCL 26-28 CD3

I'm using a Clearblue Fertility Monitor, so I should start POAS in a few days to figure out my high fertilify days.

Good luck everyone!

liahgen · 15/09/2009 19:39

Welcome sayanything and Congratulations.

Someone clever will come along and add youi in a minute, i'm rubbish.

WWSW I was thinking of supplements, if we're not lucky this month, I will be getting some I think. Getting fed up now. I'm one of the longest standing on this bus now and TBH my bum is getting sore. DOn't know what he'll think but I'm sure he'll give it a go.

Hollyoaks · 15/09/2009 20:22

WWSW try to stay positive, you've got another 8 days before you know either way.

MrsRigby · 15/09/2009 22:10

Evening

Blame Google Monopoly!

As you can see I'm on CD8, DH and I have already had sex last night and the night before (optimistic I know).

Just been speaking to DH and he reckons I'm already pregnant because I'm being moody with him - yeh, nothing to do with me wanting to go to bed as DS is going to wake me up in an hour.

wickedwitchsouthwest both my DH and I take vitamins .

WickedWitchSouthWest · 15/09/2009 22:13

Hi sayanything bad luck on your period turning up - talk about timing! But congratulations on becoming a mrs

lia I'm taking pregnacare (it was on offer so I stocked up) and evening primrose oil prior to ov only as that helps with my raging pmt too. I'm beginning to feel that hubby should start pulling some weight and I'm sure his 180 mile charity cycle yesterday can't have helped his swimmers much! Am wetting myself at your bum getting sore! I'm a couple of cycles behind you and I know what you mean!

Thanks Hollyoaks, you may have noticed I'm a bit rubbish at positive thinking at this point in my cycle

WickedWitchSouthWest · 15/09/2009 22:14

aha! hello mrsr! Good shagging schedule, keep it up Out of sheer nosiness, what does your hubby take and how did you coerce/bribe/force him to take them?

UmBongo · 15/09/2009 22:24

Has anyone else heard that zinc is good for dh's to take? Or have I made that up in my poor demented noodle that used to pass for a brain

WickedWitchSouthWest · 15/09/2009 22:27

zinc is essential apparently! Makes those swimmers swim faster! I'm thinking of getting him a zinc supplement rather than a "dad to be" supplement coz he deffo won't take that!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 15/09/2009 22:48

omg am reading stuff about zinc for men and apparently ejaculate contains 5mg on zinc so ttc really does deplete it drastically! Add on to that athletic types tend to burn their zinc stores quicker too so I think it's all my marathon running, 100+ mile bike treks husbands fault we've not got me up the duff already! Right, zinc for him

UmBongo · 15/09/2009 22:52

Ok, I'm off to boots in the morning, - hmm will dh notice a funny taste to his coffee or supper with mushed up zinc tablets in it?

WickedWitchSouthWest · 15/09/2009 22:54

I have just announced to hubby that he is taking zinc from now on and spouted sciencey stuff plus pointed out the amount of time it's taking to get preggers and he AGREED. I'm off for a lie down...(not the fun kind tho coz I've eaten too much chocolate cake)

Romilly70 · 16/09/2009 07:15

yes i read about zinc in one of my books, i have cunningly bought vitamin C with added zinc, so DP thinks it is to stave off colds. (When i told him about pre-conception vitamins for men, he said "don't waste your money")

Another friend - now pregnant - did actually resort to grinding up the vitamins into her rugby playing, beer swilling husband's food!

Also Selenium is supposed to be good but can't remember why....

Romilly70 · 16/09/2009 07:23

I have been reading a book by Marilyn Glenville about getting pregnant faster. She is a nutritionist and on her website
www.marilynglenville.com/infertility.htm she explains why some of the supplements are useful.

I think it is quite an interesting read. (I'm not advocating buying her supplements, I would bankrupt myself, i'm more a Boots 3 for 2 kind of girl) but I think her advice is good.

liahgen · 16/09/2009 07:36

at you ladies crushing your men's vits. ZInc it is then, next month.

Well temp back down to 97.33 this morning so does that indicate i've ov now. Was gonna sneak an extra one in tonight although poor dh is really bored of it now. Bless him, never thought he'g get bored of sex on tap.

Have a good day all. x

Hi cosmosis make yourself comfy at the back of the bus

lucy I was also wondering if blue was ok. Hello if you're lurking!

I was off to get zinc this morning after leaving small person at preschool and got there at the same time as realising my purse was in the other bag. Argh! Going to get it later. He might as well start taking it now so he's in tip top condition for our dirty weekend away. Fark! haven't booked hotel...must do now!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 16/09/2009 11:28

oh shame! they only had a four poster room available!

Loujalou · 16/09/2009 13:40

Argh - toddler teething and making new baby do not mix is all I am going to say. Feel like I have got a hangover but had no booze. I wish I had though.

mumabee · 16/09/2009 18:00

Afternoon all,

Just popped back to say hello and to wish everyone good luck.

sayanything Congratulations on your wedding

I hope all is well Bluesnowfalcon

Good luck holly.

at pill crushers. Needs must!

lia DP started taking a calcium with zinc supplement when I started taking folic acid 3 months ago and that seems to have helped. I take a multivit and odourless garlic anyway to boost my immune system.

Hang in there WWSW, not long to go before testing. Have a great time away.

Baby dust and fingers crossed to all x

Hollyoaks · 16/09/2009 18:48

Welcome cosmosis good luck

Nice to hear from you mumabee hope your feeling well.

Agreed loujalou ttc with an under 2 and a hard job is not ideal. I'm knackered at the moment as we're so busy, was actually glad to hit the tww so I had one less thing to do.

Gingerbics · 16/09/2009 20:38

Hi everyone,
Sorry not had much chance to post lately as moving house next friday(eeeeek) si in deep chaos.

I should be packing now but thought i needed to chill for a bit.

Cycle 8 for me and ys getting sick of it now. I realise I'm really lucky as have a lovely monkey 2yrold DD BUT would love a brother or sister for her.

Went to see GP last week and she said she's hopeful I will conceive as I managed last time, though some people do get secondary infertility. She said I should got for blood the week before my period to check my hormone (LH and FSH I think) levels.

In the meantime we've given it a really good shot this month (which has been a chore!)and have (god knows how) managed to do the Deanna's Plan. My friend recommended it to me so we'll see, but its a real effort and lots of shagging!

Anyway, lets hope we have some more BFP's really soon and I think inbetween packing tomorrow I'll go buy some Zinc!

WickedWitchSouthWest · 16/09/2009 21:19

Result. Hubby took zinc willingly

Hello mumabee, nice to hear from a bus graduate!

Hi gingerbics good luck with the move! I have to ask, did you go and see your gp? I was wondering if I should now at the 6 month point or whether I'll be told to go away til it's been over a year. I guess theres no harm in asking. A friend of mine has secondary infertility and is currently starting the ivf process after 3 years so I really don't want to leave it too long before asking for help!!

UmBongo · 16/09/2009 22:39

Forgot the zinc today - ds, playgroup, swings and buying door handles got in the way of a trip to chemist. Will try again tomorrow.
