Two week wait madness!

I know all we can do is wait but isn't it just the hardest thing!!!

We have been ttc for 18 months, in that time we've had 2 mc and an ectopic, so I know we can do the first bit!

Just finding it realy hard to be patient and wait for that ever hopeful BFP (even though that in intself will bring a whole new load of worries with it)!!

Just wanting to rant and to see if anybody else is going through the same thing right now??

Right, temperature's gotta stay up... Got it!

Now, let me go dig out my electric blanket, some hot water bottles... Oh a hot chocolate or seven will help too, right??? I think maybe I also need to try and persuade DH that an immediate tropical holiday is an absolute necessity!

WorrisomeHeart · 12/08/2009 18:54

Hi folks...

Well another day, another high temp! DH said this morning that we should 'stop ignoring the elephant in the room and do a test'.. I was tempted to throw my porridge at him for suggesting that I'm as big as an elephant with possible preggo bloating, but instead swallowed my hormones and grabbed a test - am now staring at it telling myself over and over FMU, FMU... I'll update you all tomorrow.. (or later tonight if I can't resist. It's so much harder when there's one in the house!!)

Meita - sorry to hear about your MC and I completely understand wanting to test early. I guess the only positive thing you can take from your horrible experience is that you now know that you can get pregnant. I'm sure a sticky BFP will be here in no time for you.

Spireal your chart is sounding great.. will keep fingers crossed that those temps stay nice and high!

Good baby-dust to everyone else!

Lulubee · 12/08/2009 20:54

Dagnammit, AF arrived this morning, bang on schedule. Back to the drawing board then. sigh.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of you though!

Maybebaby76 · 13/08/2009 12:36

Hey Meita

Yes, I am a '76 baby!

I was thinking, as Aunt Flo seems to be staying with me now, I could perhaps tie and and gag her....stop her bothering all of you??

Will you all shout at me if I haven't actually been TTC?

Had an 'incident' on day 10 of my cycle (I'd lost count and thought it was earlier) and at first was terrified-my youngest was still breastfeeding, I'm still not getting a full nights sleep, my dh doesn't want any more and several other reasons but as the month goes on I'm finding myself hoping more and more for a BFP. It's probably not a good thing to be doing, my husband will absolutely hit the roof if we do get a BFP and I will be gutted if we don't...

AF due 19th (ish)

I really hope you don't think I am insensitive for posting here when I haven't been TTC, I just wanted somewhere to share the ups and downs of the 2ww

WorrisomeHeart · 14/08/2009 07:44

Hi gals

Just an update - tested yesterday AM with FMU and it was a BFN... however, temp still way up, had mammoth hunger yesterday (nearly burst into tears in the sarnie shop when someone cut in line in front of me), knackered and boobs are incredibly sore... so I'm thinking that it was too early to test (it was 13 DPO yesterday) so am planning to grab another test and do it on Sunday when it will be 16 DPO and AF will be at the latest 4 days late... what do you all think?

Lulubee - sorry to hear AF got you! I think maybebaby's idea is a great one!

Welcome sneakingin! How old is your lo?

Spirael · 14/08/2009 09:58

Hi all, and welcome sneakingin!

Well, I'm still swinging between convinced and not convinced here. A few new symptoms... Mild dizziness and a touch of heartburn and nausea, but nothing I probably wouldn't just ignore if I wasn't watching out for it. So not sure whether or not they're valid or not, really!

Still got the constipation, stuffy nose and slightly more sensitive sense of smell. I also seemed to gain about 4 pounds overnight, which I'm miffed at! If I don't get a positive, then next month it's back to rabbit food I guess.

Anyway, a slightly more convincing new symptom was that for the last day or so I've been having mild stomach cramps, akin to if AF was about to arrive. Apologies if it's TMI, but I also had a tiny amount of brownish discharge yesterday, also similar to the start of AF. However, AF isn't due until next week and my temperatures are still high!

So, I've been optimistically wondering whether this could be implantation... Then pessimistically wondering if AF is simply gearing up to be a few days early this month, and my temperature will plummet for the 'fun' to start over the weekend.

If AF doesn't arrive, I might try taking a cheapy test tomorrow morning, which'd be 12dpo. I expect it'll be too early to see a result, but I figured it'd give me practice at POAS, since I've never had to do that before.

emma2617 · 14/08/2009 10:28

Hello ladies...I hope you don't mind me joining your thread...I think my situation is quite different to any of you! I was on here just over a year ago TTC and was lucky and caught first month despite my partner having low motility and high abnormalities with his little fellas!

On 7th March our little boy Luca arrived (quite traumatic delivery ending with an emergeny section under general anesthetic) and I was diagnosed with PND so our sex life took longer than expected to resume! I had been taking the pill since 21 days after delivery and then last wednesday and thursday i missed my pills but didn't worry because nothing was happening in that department anyway! Then Saturday night...I finally was in the mood and we did the deed! It wasn't until it was too late that I remembered I had missed pills!

I now have a week and a half of my 2ww left to see if I am pregnant again! I really want another baby but was planning on waiting at least 2 years...but I am also petrified!

Good luck to everyone...I hope there are plenty of BFPs on theiir way!

aly323 · 15/08/2009 02:43

Spirael, when do you think you're going to test??? I'm thinking I'll start 8-16. I've been pretty sure I was BFN. No sore breasts, no peeing, nothing unusual. Maybe a little light-headed, but it could be my imagination.

Yesterday, I got really, really sad. I keep reading about symptoms, but just hadn't noticed any. I also was a "tiny bit" bitchy according to DH (he knew better than to say I was a raving bitch). It was a tough day yesterday. However, now I'm wondering if I might actually have a shot this month. Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night with some intense pains way down on the right side of my tummy. They lasted about 10-20 minutes then went away. They were distinctly different from my usual AF pains, but I just went off the pill a couple of months ago, so nothing is truly usual. The pains have come back off and on, but not quite as intensely. I also had just the tiniest, tiniest bit of pink spotting once today.

Who knows. This could all be AF related. But, I'm more hopeful now than yesterday. Maybe this will be a lucky thread! I'm hoping for BFP's for all of us!!

WorrisomeHeart · 15/08/2009 07:33

Hi all and welcome the newbies..

Well, had a temp dip this am so am feeling v blue... it wasn't below the coverline, and I am still peeing non-stop and boobs are sore, so I'm hoping it's a one-off because I had to get up so many times in the night (4 - a new record!). What do you all think? AF hasn't arrived and the mild cramps I had overnight have vanished... am getting a CB digital test today and I think I will do one this pm and the other tomorrow am if the witch hasn't arrived. I will be 16 dpo tomorrow according to FF so surely the test should be right, right? Hope everyone else is having a better time then me and good luck to those who are testing..

Spirael · 15/08/2009 07:48

Hi all.

I tested this morning, aly323, but it was BFN. I'm not amazingly surprised though, since it's probably a few days early for it to be able to read anything, yet! AF isn't due until around Tuesday next week.

Still, at least I managed to get the control line to appear earlier. I was a bit afraid I'd screw up taking the test somehow, so having a practice run has put my mind at ease a bit!

I'll probably hold off testing tomorrow, as I couldn't see even a ghost of a line this morning, then perhaps try again on Monday if I remember before work.

Hopefully it was just a random meaningless minor drop in temperature, WorrisomeHeart! With any luck it'll be back up where it should be by tomorrow.

No new symptoms here, really. I'm finding myself more easily irked by little things, but then that could just be warning me that AF is on her way...

Meita · 15/08/2009 09:18

hello waiting ladies,

worrisome for me temp drops NEVER turned positive again. I'm so sorry to hear you've had a drop. The only hope I'd hold out is that it was due to all the getting up at night. Oh I do hope you'll get that BFP!

Spirael keeping my fingers crossed for you, too.

Maybebaybe hm, sorry that AF got you. While in principle I agree with your idea of ambushing her and keeping her captive, please don't - send her my way instead. I had to re-evaluate my temperature charts and have come to the conclusion that ovulation was much later than I thought - which means we didn't BD at the right times... so now I'm just waiting for AF to arrive so that we can start trying again. So I'm not technically in 2ww-mode anymore either... unless waiting for a sure-fire AF visit counts to - but that's hardly very exciting...

So, good luck to everyone, hope you get your BFPs. I'll be back here in about a month's time I 'spose. Take care!

Scarlett175 · 15/08/2009 11:09

okayyy, so AF was due Thursday and still not here...

BUT a wierd cramping, but definitely different to AF cramping. I have decided NOT to test til at least Monday as don't want to see a BFN...

But keep running to the loo to check AF isn't here.

Fingers crossed for me ladies....

WorrisomeHeart · 15/08/2009 16:13

Just an update - had another BFN today so have decided to wait to test again until Wed which is when FF says to test.. am basically kidding myself, as I'm fairly certain AF is on her way. Been wallowing in gloom all day and getting a bit sick of myself, but this month has been really hard as the TWW was so markedly different to anything I've experienced before. Thanks for your support ladies, I've really appreciated it. Lets hope there are some lucky BFP's still out there for those still to test.

Meita Sorry to hear about your possible missed-ov, when is AF due?

Spireal and Scarlett - all sounding great for you two, will keep fingers crossed (makes it difficult to type though... )

Spirael · 15/08/2009 19:20

I'm actually losing a bit of confidence here... Apologies if it's TMI, but I've been spotting on and off for the last few days and I think it's getting a touch heavier now. Was mostly a trace of brown-ish goo (delightful...) but I had some brighter red today. Tiny amounts currently, but it could well be that AF has nabbed me early this month!

Oh well... At least if it is her then I can get it over and done with sooner rather than later and get back to giving it another try next cycle! It would have been worse if she turned up late, I think.

There's still a chance though, I guess, as my temperature is still high. I'll see what happens tomorrow morning, I suppose! If it's still high then, I might have to buckle and break out one of the First Response tests that my wonderful DH got me earlier. :D Being more sensitive, they'll hopefully tell me more conclusively whether or not I need to start marking the calendar for the evenings we'll be staying in!

Meita · 15/08/2009 22:34

oh worrisome, that's really depressing. I do hope it works out next time! (and who knows, all is not lost for this cycle yet.)

I think AF is due in about 10 days for me. At the end of my 2ww (day 16 of the 2w...) I went straight back to day 3... grumble. Except this time there is not much to wait for.

aly323 · 15/08/2009 22:55

*spirael" I know just how you're feeling. I've had a little spotting. It's not much at all, but more than the trace I saw yesterday. It's all making me super blue. However, I've been doing a ton of reading, and lots of people still get a BFP after the spotting. I'm trying to be reasonable while holding out a little hope... for both of us. You should definitely still use the test. You've had a lot of symptoms in addition to excellent temping results.

My fingers are still crossed for you! I'll be eagerly checking for results. Worst case, we start over in another couple of weeks.

Anyone else testing soon???

WorrisomeHeart · 16/08/2009 06:10

Thanks Meita. Temp is down again today and all symptoms vanished, so I think I'm out. The one good thing I'm taking from this is that my Luteal Phase has been significantly longer this month than any before, so the Agnus Castus and extra B6 vits I am taking to help that are obviously working. Sorry to hear you've got another long wait, are your cycles normally long?

Spireal - don't lose hope, if your temp is still high that's a really good sign...

Hope to see some BFP's soon!

Spirael · 16/08/2009 07:00

Morning all.

I'm pretty sure I'm out of the running now... AF's not hit me full on yet, but the bleeding is getting heavier and seeming more like it's going that way. I reckon if she's going to start properly then it'll either be later today or tomorrow, at this rate.

My temperature is still up, but as my throat is sore and I feel a bit rough today, I'm wondering if I'm coming down with a cold. Which might explain why I'm warmer than I might usually be? Might also explain some of the symptoms I've had.

My DH insisted that I took a test anyway, if nothing else just to ensure I was ok to take various cold meds. So I took the First Response test (well actually, I ended up taking both as I dropped the first one! ) and got another BFN.

Ah well... I'm sure the end of May is a better time for a baby to have it's birthday anyway, rather than the end of April. It'll be warmer then, they might be able to have BBQ parties as they get older.

Good luck, everyone else! Hopefully someone'll get a BFP soon!!

Scarlett175 · 16/08/2009 10:20

Morning Spirael and everyone

Sorry re AF.... but you are right end of May is a great time for a birthday!! and for maternity leave ;)

So I said I was going to hold out until Mon to test but after chatting with hubby last night if no AF by time I get home tonight (working today) and going to test so at least we will know. I will be 3 days late by then, to should have an accurate test result right??

Last week I tested Monday (4 days before AF was due) and got BFN so really don't want to see that again...but now I am thinking my HCG levels weren't high enough??

any thoughts?? x x x

sneakingin · 16/08/2009 15:11

Thank you for the welcome

Worrisome I have a 3 year old and a 20 month old. If I do get a BFP I'll (briefly) have 3 dc under 4

I feel a bit pregnant but not sure if it is wishful thinking...I am bloated, not constipated but poo a bit harder than usual, tired, felt rough after half a glass of wine last night, feeling sick when hungry, cooking and then not wanting to eat what I've cooked.

I'm not sure when to test. My cycle seems to vary from 28-32 days. My last period started on 22/07 so due on some time next week.

what day is everyone else testing? Good luck! Spirael is it definitely af now? sorry if so

Meita · 16/08/2009 17:01

worrisome, my cycles are usually 30-34 days, but occasionally they're much longer, like, 40-44 days. This time I thinks is probably due to the MC I had recently - hormones are still a bit awry.

sorry to hear you're having all that bleeding - hope it works out next time.

good luck aly and scarlett - fingers crossed!

Scarlett175 · 16/08/2009 19:09

okay so I totally caved in and tested..well actually DH had bought a test for me and it was waiting when I got in!!

Still in shock and feeling teary (no one really to share with as lost my mum recently) to confirm BFP!!!!!!!!!!!

Feeling very happy and pleasantly surprised. This was our first proper month of trying and from friends experiences etc I was honestly expecting a longer journey. I'm only 3 weeks so still early days.

had to share with someone, wishing you all this elation soon, its coming your way!!

aly323 · 16/08/2009 19:29

Oh Scarlett!!!!!! I'm so happy for you! This is good news indeed! I lost my mom a couple of years ago, so I can kind of imagine the feelings you're experiencing. I think there will be many bittersweet moments brought on by this entire journey. I'm sorry your mum couldn't be here to experience this with you.

Tell us DH's reaction. I love that he bought you the test. Mine is willing to do his part, but is a little freaked out by the tests. I don't think the excitement of the whole thing will sink in for mine until a little further along.

I'm pretty sure I'm out. No real AF yet, but enough spotting that I'm thinking she's coming. Oh well...maybe next month. May 23 has always had a very personal significance to me, I would love for that to be my dc's birthday. At least I know a little better what to expect next month.

Spirael · 17/08/2009 07:26

Congratulations, Scarlett!

AF has definitely got me here and I've managed to come down with a cold too... So all in all I'm feeling rather sorry for myself right now.

Oh well... Hopefully the cold will be gone by the time we need to try again this cycle.
