This month, for the first time ever we (dh and I) have really given ourselves every chance possible of conceiving.

I've been using FAM for the first time. we've been BDing like crazy at the right time and I'm so hopeful whilst being so scared of having those hopes dashed. (i do know btw that even if we get it all right there is still only 1 in 4 chance etc).

As background: after ds was born in 2003, dh didn't want any more children. We struggled (well, I did) with this and the terrible conflict that ensued until last year.

We've been nominally trying since then, but tbh, not very hard (i.e. of 12 months, there were probably only 3 that we could have possibly conceived in).

Since the beginning of this year, dh really has changed his mind and now really really wants us to have another child. I got pregnant, but miscarried at the end of March.

First cycle I wasn't expecting to have my period 28 days (on the dot) after the miscarriage which I did.

I was absolutely miserable when I wasn't pregnant second cycle.

Now third cycle CD15. Today I found out a friend was pregnant at the same time as me, we both had a November due date. I'm so sad that we aren't having babies together and so sad for the baby that I lost.

A tarot card reader has also told me (this was a very amateur tarot reader...i know i know i know i know!!!) that no babies any time soon.

I so want to be pregnant this month and would be so grateful for your support, hand holding and prayers, vibes and lentils both in the hope of being and if I get my AF which is due on the 16th July.

I'm 37 years old and need to hold onto the fact that once we started trying properly I got pregnant fairly easily rather than letting the fact that at 37 i am decrepit with no eggs left and dh has deformed sperm be at the forefront as that is what it feels like i'm bombarded with all day every day in the press!

Any company gratefully appreciated...

I think I might have that book somewhere; not that it has helped me obviously. I remember being very up on all this stuff, all the strange acronyms, etc.

EWCM is a good sign of OV IIRR.

Ledodgy · 07/07/2009 08:36

Wishing you all the luck in the world Soph. Ovulating on day 16 doesn't mean you are not ovulating properly day 14 is only a guide. I always ovulate on day 12.

I have everything crossed for you. x

Joolsiam · 07/07/2009 09:05

I used to ov on CD16 of a 29 day cycle - conceived twice that way (and managed to keep one of those pregnancies going for a whole 12 weeks As long as the luteal phase is 12 days or more, there is absolutely no problem with that at all, so don't worry.

Post MC's, I have that elusive cycle that GP's think everyone has - OV on CD14 of a 28 day cycle and I can predict ovulation and AF to within 2 hours !!

Heathcliffscathy · 07/07/2009 09:49

oh jools i'm so sorry, awful mcing.

OP posts:
Heathcliffscathy · 08/07/2009 08:11

so looks possible that i ov'd CD16 as i've had 2 days of temp increase since then.

i need a thermometer that doesn't beep as i'm waking dh up with it at the moment!!

Maybe your 2WW starts today then Fingers crossed for all of us.

I was convinced yesterday that I had all the really really early signs I've had before - thrush, insomnia, creamy cm etc etc. Today - nothing, so am back in limbo land, after even checking last night what my due date would be . Why do I do it to myself !!

Katnkittens · 08/07/2009 12:37

Oh Jools, I do that, checking hypothetical due date, I can't help it.

After last months pseudo-symptoms I give up symptom spotting, I swear I was really surprised that I wasn't pregnant..

I'm a terrible early tester too, you guys will have to stop me although I do think it's nice to know so when the witch turns up I'm not as gutted but looking for bloomin lines is a right nightmare esp on those ebay cheapies.

Heathcliffscathy · 08/07/2009 14:06

sophable does triple take!!! thrush as early symptom you say? well, sort of feeling bit thrushy down there??

hmmmmm....

[damps down hope]

Spidermama · 09/07/2009 10:14

I don't know what 2ww and other references mean but I want to wish you all the very best Sophable. GOOOOOO on girl! You can do it.

37 is nothing. Ignore the press.

I can see the urgency and the passion with which you are trying and would advise, if at all possible, that you do something else as well to spread your focus.

Joolsiam · 09/07/2009 10:14

That is the web site I linked to yesterday

BecauseImWorthIt · 09/07/2009 10:22

A part of my life that is now over , but I can so empathise with you, doing the TTC thing after a miscarriage. Thankfully for me it didn't take long, but even that short time was agonising.

Keeping everything metaphorically crossed for you, soph, although I haven't got anything hippy to offer you!

Heathcliffscathy · 09/07/2009 16:19

Thanks ladies.

does anyone know how to make fertility friend give me a coverline as i've had 3 temp rises in a row now (phew, looks like i have ovulated) and it still isn't.

Heathcliffscathy · 10/07/2009 19:33

my glands that run between legs and torso are swollen and tender...is that a sign?

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 10/07/2009 21:31

Not heard of that one, but I guess it could be

I have very achy teeth tonight, and have developed a cleavage !!

Heathcliffscathy · 12/07/2009 08:15

loads of creamy cf, have ovulated (CD17) but cervix still high and soft. bloated, breast pain as of this morning. tired like a dog all the time.

and a nagging suspicion that all this is wishful thinking and my AF will arrive next weekend as scheduled

OP posts:
Joolsiam · 12/07/2009 08:55

Nausea again on and off yesterday, particularly when driving home after a night out with friends. Mild abdominal cramps last night. Tender abdomen this morning, nauseous and bone weary.

If it is all in the mind, I'm going to start worrying about my sanity. If I was to lay bets right now, I'd say I was pregnant - setting myself up for a fall I think !

Heathcliffscathy · 12/07/2009 10:22

jools....i hope it's not all in your head. or mine.

OP posts:
Heathcliffscathy · 12/07/2009 10:22
