A new thread to discourage early testing.

So, STEP AWAY ladies!

Finally did a test today and it's a BFP. I am quite shocked, I don't feel any symptoms so I'm still a bit unsure. But it's a very dark line. Will need to get used to the idea. Angel I guess we will be due at the same time!
Is it odd not to have sore boobs? It's a long time since I was pregnant.

PistachioLemon · 29/07/2009 14:11

Rene - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! YAYYYY!!!! That's brilliant... woohooo!

My sister said she didn't have any symptoms for ages so I don't think that is of itself anything to worry about. Perhaps mention it to the docs when you go to set your mind at ease?

ReneRusso · 29/07/2009 14:55

Thanks Pistachio! It's starting to sink in. Someone please stop me going to john lewis to buy a buggy. Need to stay calm, long way to go!

Joycey29 · 29/07/2009 15:35

Wow Rene - how exciting! I had very few symptons with ds til 6 weeks so don't worry - enjoy it before the puking starts!!!
I am so happy for you - proof that not testing early pays off with a big dark line - no guessing there!

Angelfifi · 29/07/2009 15:49

Whoooo Hooo rene how exciting we can compare notes together - you must be so chuffed!!!
Went to the docs today so i can get refered to the midwife as soon as, i will be begging for a early scan lol!!!
My due date is 28th march. I'm so exciting still sinking in
I'm so excited for you rene hope you will stick around here!!!

ReneRusso · 29/07/2009 16:23

Angel, my due date will be 4th April according to an online calculator I was looking at.

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 29/07/2009 16:42

Yayy Rene that is fantastic news! 2 bfp's this month and more to come im sure!! Hard to not run out and buy a buggy lol!!

Yayyyy im in maternity trousers!!!! Have been told my by sisters today i def have a bump woohooo

Liskey · 29/07/2009 17:47

Congratulations to you Rene! Restraint on the buggy front - though I've got to admit I was looking on ebay the other night - at a Maclaran as someone at work was telling me how good those are.

PL I've sort of dipped in and out of the pregnancy book - the out bit defintely being anything called birth......I don't really want to read that! Though I have booked NCT classes now as everyone seems to recommend them and tells me NHS classes have too many people going.

Iate I was emailing HR about maternity leave today as our online maternity calculator seemed to be incorrect. I'm not planning to go on maternity leave till 1/2 weeks beforehand - as I'll have 3 weeks of holiday to use up as well. So I should get most of December off.

Clwc he didn't mean anything but sounds like he didn't think at all before talking to your MIL. I'd probably tell him how annoying that is - rather than its made you angry. If you don't tell him he won't realise being a man.

proudestmummyever · 29/07/2009 22:39

OMG Congrats Rene!! So chuffed 4 u!!!!

Thanku Iate, did an asda test too, BFN, tht was today, I am feckn 11 days late, dunno wat goin on, will go to dr if not here by Fri, doing my head in

xx

Clwc · 30/07/2009 00:32

Thanks for all the hugs and sorry to hear about the BFNs

PL I am fed up. It'll be CD 34 on Friday, and the bleeding still hasn't stopped. It also hurts a bit. Not too long to wait now. I hope they can figure it out there and then.

Oh, Rene, have you tested?????

Clwc · 30/07/2009 00:33

Crap! I just noticed I didn't read the last few messages! Congratulations Rene!!!!

Clwc · 30/07/2009 00:39

Liskey, I did tell him that I wasn't very happy about it. I do realise that he's always honest with his parents, but I wasn't happy that he told his mum, then didn't give me a heads up. I explained to him that I don't want everyone knowing my private business, nor gossiping about it to Aunty Whatsername in Timbuktu. All I can do now is hope that he'll consider my feelings before he speaks about me in future.

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 30/07/2009 08:30

yay Liskey the whole of December thats great! I am leaving at the end of October getting out of the hell hole i call work! im not going back there after anyway so im not to fussed! Im asking midwife about classes when i see her for 16 week appointment, apparently she is not the best at remembering these things!

pme you know where i am i dont mind sending to you, see how you get on with Drs Friday hope all is ok!

clwc im sorry abut your dh men just dont think do they! I hpe you get it all sorted and im sure he will think before he speaks now.

PistachioLemon · 30/07/2009 19:00

Angel, wonderful to have a due date and it sounds like you're doctor is really good. Will you get some extra attention as you miscarried last time? Like PME I have a very good feeling about this one for you. How are you feeling? Hope you're not too anxious or anything.

PME I think you and I are in the same boat. I'm CD31 now and just waiting for the inevitable. If it doesn't arrive by the weekend I might to another test, but I'm pretty sure the first test was right.

Rene glad to hear you're feeling well and haven't been suffering. My sister told me she had horrible MS so I'm a bit worried about if I ever get preggo! Have you been to the docs yet?

Liskey HELLO! As Iate says - the whole of December of sounds wonderful too. Have you been getting lots of things for the baby? Or are you just investigating at this stage? I think I may be mad as I was trying to work out the other day whether I could do without a buggy. They just seem to take up so much space. Bet I change my mind though!

Iate When's your 16 week appointment? Two weeks time? Will the midwife book the classes for you? All my friends have found NCT classes really good, not just for the content but most have remained really friendly with the people they met. Hopefully you'll find a good class that you enjoy with nice people.

Clwc Good luck for tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you. Hopefully the consultant will be good but if he/she isn't, don't let them fob you off (not that you would I'm sure).

Clwc · 31/07/2009 00:01

Thank-you, PL. I'm getting very nervous now. I bet I'll start to get all weepy, and forget all the questions I need to ask. I'm a closet push-over really. I just pray they can make this stop.

Joycey29 · 31/07/2009 09:11

Thinking of you clwc!

PistachioLemon · 31/07/2009 09:28

Have you gone yet Clwc? Good luck! (And take a list of questions in case you forget them in a haze)! xxxx

OP posts:
Clwc · 31/07/2009 12:10

The appointment is at 1:45pm. Not long now. I'd better go and put my face on

Still nervous. x

PistachioLemon · 31/07/2009 12:15

Hope it goes okay. I'm away for the weekend so won't be back online until Sunday night or Monday morning but I'll check in as soon as I can to see how it went. Big hugs. xxx
