barbie1 · 03/06/2009 19:26

im still here, took laptop to bed to keep me company instead of dh!

Thankfully didnt have to do the treatment today just a patch up, the real deal starts in a few weeks!

Omg at 95 quid for a filling!

barbie1 · 03/06/2009 19:31

i guess if i have had a bfn on day 28 then i have no chance? could it be that i ovulated later and therefore am not due for a few more days? is there still hope or am i kidding myself???

Nope im kidding myself oh well.....

mermaidspurse · 03/06/2009 19:33

blimey that is heavy and complicated reading honey. Hopefully your opks will be with you soon and you can see what your body is doing. Is the job settling down a bit by the way?

Cupcake how on earth did you find a man who admits he can cook and then cooks? Respect!

cupcakefairy · 03/06/2009 19:37

You could well have ovulated later barbie... you need to start temping girl! You can chart it on fertility friend, then you can tell if you are actually ovulating and when (a lot of people make the mistake of thinking every woman ovulates around day 14 but that is totally not true...cycles can do crazy things, as we all know!)
That site iggy linked to said temping is the first thing a doc will ask you to do if you go to one about not being able to conceive ...Now I actually doubt that is true as most docs are clueless about the whole temp rise thing (I know my own doc is sooo rubbish and always trying to talk me out of my NFP-ing ways!) but if you already have a few months' worth of charts it's v useful to show a doctor to help them diagnose what could be up rather than just trying a whole host of drugs.
/end speech

cupcakefairy · 03/06/2009 19:40

Haha mermaid I genetically engineered him...
Actually I owe it to my MIL really, she was v good at teaching all her boys to cook (but it does mean I have to live with the 'Mum doesn't make it like that' comments whenever I do actually get in the kitchen!)

barbie1 · 03/06/2009 19:46

The job is going ok.....very tiring due to the hours, but i can light at the end of the tunnel now whereas before it was all dark!

Decided to wait until we are back in the uk and if im still stressed etc i will email from england (yes im a chicken ) and tell them that i need less hours or i shall have to leave

I was meant to be co managing the busiest spa in dubai, 36 girls and over 200 clients per day, but the other lady has just handed in her notice due to the demanding rota we have to do, so im on my own ...ill either be in a straight jacket come july or jobless!

cupcake i tried temping, couldnt get into it all all...stressed my more then ever...but......im going to give it another try and use the opk's as well.
My doc is great (she would be, its private and they charge a mint) she told me sometimes temping, charting sticks etc etc are our own worst enermy...so i have to take it easy for three month (which is now) and go back....whoops i better make that appointment soon

barbie1 · 03/06/2009 19:47

see light at the end of the tunnel

cupcakefairy · 03/06/2009 19:53

Yes your doc is right actually that relaxing about the whole thing is the right way to go if you are really stressed about it all. It is just something very valuable imo to know your own body and cycle. It is a bit stressful getting into the routine but I really recommend getting a thermometer that records your temp. I take mine at 6.45am when my eyes are barely open, then I go back to sleep... then dh records the temp on the chart that evening.
Glad you have a good doctor though that is so good, and hope your next appointment with her is positive

(ps dh is now making risotto - result!)

cupcakefairy · 03/06/2009 19:54

oh and to you managing that place on your own! Get up the duff, quick!

mermaidspurse · 03/06/2009 19:56

cupcake maybe he can tell me why the fudge that ds and I spent all afternoon stirring and burning ourselves on is now kind of caramel rather than fudge. humpf.

barbie my mind boggles, that is a lot to manage. So much for the avoiding stress this summer. Yes make that appointment, if I remember she was a lovely dr so hopefully they will pull something out of the hat for you.
Right I am off to find a nice cold bottle of rose that I hid in the fridge.
Please give my love to mm and mollie.xx

barbie1 · 03/06/2009 20:02

i will do mermaid i must sleep now its 11pm and i know it will take a while without dh here.....catch you later love to all x

cupcakefairy · 03/06/2009 20:02

sorry about the fudge mermaid...maybe salvage it and make millionaire's shortbread with it instead! Mmmm.

mermaidspurse · 03/06/2009 20:10

genius

Joolsiam · 03/06/2009 20:42

Helllooooo ladies

Good to see you Barbie I don't temp, but taking note of CM and ov pains seems to have worked well thus far, so I haven't bothered. Fertility Friend has a good article on CM - will try to find the link as it really helped me

I haven't been in the gym since Sunday due to a back injury - am really missing it, but have an appt with my chiropractor tomorrow so hopefully she will sort it.

We've just been out to see Angels and Demons at the cinema - was really really good Now just settling down to watch the Apprentice with a large glass of ice cold pinot grigio

4Ever - I wasn't overly impressed with the appointment today - the consultants lackey really didn't seem to have a clue and I gave up asking questions in the end. Main thing is I'm getting all the blood tests I want, so am happy with that for now. There was no talk of doing tests at any particular time in my cycle.

by the way, I had a little stalk nose earlier to look for news of Mollie and it sounds all good

Oh, my DP can cook really well - I can't

Iggy - are you seriously saying you managed 28 BD's in a row in Feb ? !! RESPECT ! 3 a month is generally our maximum

Mermaid - I'm sure that fudgey caramel will be luscious, whatever it looks like

Neeko · 03/06/2009 20:56

Damn it just lost a big post
mermaid Can I have some millionaire's shortbread, pleeeaaasssee!

Barbie sorry I missed you before you went to sleep. The clomid sounds interesting, if a little scary but I'd definitely try the temping again 1st. at you job. Think we should start calling you SuperBarbie Nice to hear ypu sounding a bit happier though. Sweet dreams.

Cupcake What a lovely DH you have - cooking and recording your temp. Go on, make us jealous - what else does he do? (Mine makes great cups of tea and does the ironing )

Jools hopefully when you go back you'll get more answers to your questions.

iggy you definitely win in the BD stakes.

MrsKate are you out there? Hope you're feeling a bit better. Have you heard from Gracie MLS Has your cold finally forced you into an early night?

SabsBigPants · 03/06/2009 21:45

hey ladies, sorry i havent been around (was i missed, lol!) my net hasnt been working for a few days and ive got so much to catch up on! Hope to catch up properly later on.

Remind me to tell you about my pregnancy moment yesterday!

cupcakefairy · 03/06/2009 22:47

Hi sabs...yes we were particularly chatty over the last couple of days! Have you emerged yet??

neeko he is a very good dh...my Mum is always telling me off that I'm not a very good wife but I just say I am the social secretary!

Ooh jools glad you enjoyed a nic trip out to the pictures A & D is v good isn't it... and v interesting result in The Apprentice I thought!

Right, am off to bed, night all!

4everhopeful · 04/06/2009 09:52

Morning ladies! Just a quickie cos my colleague has landed me with tons of work unfairly distributed .. Only work stress tho, im good cos getting near OV time

Gutted I missed ya Barbie - big waves!

Know a few people taken clomid, my mate has 'sticky blood' ( a hope story, 3 mc, diagnosed and 2 DD now ) but she had clomid, and its standard in IVF normally, its overstimulates the ovaries and produces more eggs. Rumours of A listers taking it to get twins!

Glad you had a good night Jools my 1st appt was exactly same, clueless assistant who knew nothing & couldnt answer anything. You'll get the real deal when you get results..

Right off to deal with my collosal & unfair workload! xxxx

VJaybigpants · 04/06/2009 10:01

Good morning,
curly have you tested yet???and what are you studying at the mo?
jools sounds like you have a PLAN and a good team there to back you up, my fingers are frimly crossed for you to have a happy ending
barbie my friend took clomid, after trying for about 4 years, she got pg, then 20 months later had her 2nd child with no assistance!

Well I found 4 opk's whilst decluttering, should I go and pee on them all?? Get it out of my system??

Morning 4ever, throw some of the work back at them, cheeky buggers

iggypiggy · 04/06/2009 10:02

Jools no way - not 28 - def not when I had AF but we managed every day from after AF to the end of the month - plus a couple of days right at the begining.. so must have had baout 5 days 'off'

Not recommending it as a method tho

cupcake am sure you right re: temping and doctors! Am sure you should not believe everything you read ont he internet anyway - but I was interested in the stats re: age on that page...

VJaybigpants · 04/06/2009 10:03

morning iggy

iggypiggy · 04/06/2009 10:07

morning vjay

yes - pee on them all

MummyLovesSadie · 04/06/2009 10:10

Clomid is unofficially used a lot in China where they have the one child policy. Its freely & cheaply available there in the back streets & they use it to have multiple births & the numbers of multiple births out there are well above average.

Feeling super rough now as been up since 4am with dd who refused to go back to sleep so got up & hoovered the house at 5. Just want some s-l-e-e-e-e-e-e-a-p........

OP posts:
VJaybigpants · 04/06/2009 10:14

I was going to ask at what time should I pee?!?! I'm cracking up

mls hoovering at 5!!! Glad I don't live next to you

MummyLovesSadie · 04/06/2009 10:17

Vjay what if you want to ttc again in 6 months? You'll need them then.

Not just hoovering.... hoovering, dusting & cleaning the windows.....AND I still have that bloody dead spider in my sink!
