Right here we go again!

So far we have been lucky on this thread so lets stick together for all you oldies! until we all get our precious babies.

Here's to the next chapter in our special journey, onwards and upwards

Afternoon y'all,
I've spent a good morning studying, just hope it sinks in and stays there

lion hope all is going well today for you, when do you find out the results?

blue I bet you are still smiling, it's hard not to how far from Inverness are you, just to guage a half way point?

jools hope you are staying awake at work

barbie hope you are having a lovely girlie day.

neeko, that was a good post, you remembered everything, I'm so crap at that at the mo.

Well I'm frustrated at the mo as can't seem to get the funding for ds at school. I have a meeting with the head next week to hopefully make sure it's all in place for when he goes into P2. I feel so sorry for him cos he's so stressed and he's only 6, poor wee mite. But we will get there, positivity is key xxx

VJaybigpants · 15/04/2009 13:32

Just re-read my post, that probably didn't help with my low mood last week cos that was when we found out about the lack of funding....aaahhhh the penny drops, it does take a while sometimes

mermaidspurse · 15/04/2009 13:43

vjay I am guessing the policy is different in Scotland with statements, funding etc? that is the bloody hardest thing seeing them struggle.
I was always told to smell things like lavender as an association with stuff for revision. But it ended up being ciggies, strong coffee and mint aeros! never helped!

jools I am holding your hand (virtually) as you knicker check, feeling sick is so good so you had better give yourself a midweek star.

neeko can you be our thread updater? you are just brill at it.x

not much sanity down here at mermaid HQ today, just one of those days, you know, and scared of this afternoons needles - what was I thinking

mermaidspurse · 15/04/2009 13:45

yes I did wonder that vjay sweetie...at least our pennies usually drop eventually!

VJaybigpants · 15/04/2009 14:22

Lol mermaid they do drop eventually

Neeko · 15/04/2009 14:56

Ok I'm a sucker for flattery. Going back to work on Monday though so may have to relinquish this position!

Blue Went to the Safari park on Sunday along with half of Scotland! Wouldn't it be dead funny to bump into someone from this thread really randomly? Would you answer if someone shouted Bluesatinsash at you? I should really look into putting my profile and picture on for that very slightly unlikely reason.I'm in sunny Prestwick by the sea - though it's not very sunny today.

bluesatinsash · 15/04/2009 15:09

mermaid sorry you're having a 'one of those days' days... and apologies I forgot you had your first Acup. sesh today. You will be absolutely fine, just relax and clear your mind. I felt so zen like after my first one, really peaceful... Hope they have studry needles for the old cankle area , seriously it doesn't hurt one bit and I'm a big jessie when it comes to needles.

Hey Vjay - your poor DS getting all stressed wee soul. Really really hope you get somewhere with the funding. Falkirk is about 300 miles from Inverness, half way point is probably Perth area but I am rubbish with geography! We may be up your way later summer as we have relatives in Elgin..

mermaidspurse · 15/04/2009 15:28

zen like would be good with big hairy cankles

LionstarBigPants · 15/04/2009 15:34

Well, were back. It all went as well as could be expected, the consultant was lovely - very reassuring and she even went as far as transferring me to her clinic for any further care that might be needed. We had a scan first which was actually really nice and helped put me at ease. Baby was jumping around all over - both scans it has been mentioned what a wriggler this one is, so we have duly christened it 'Fidget'. The consultant took lots of time to point out all the bits and pieces, we watched the baby scratching its cheek, kicking its feet vigorously and generally trying to avoid the probe . We were also told my placenta is a bit low, but will 'probably' move up as the womb grows.

The actual amnio wasn't very painful and only took a couple of minutes. I was a bit teary but was able to watch the screen and see it was all done carefully and well away from the baby. I have to rest up for the next 24 hours, so DP has been great and has installed me on the sofa with laptop, endless tea and made a yummy lunch. I am a bit achey around the bump which they did tell me to expect. No cramps or bleeding though, which would be very scary.

Unfortunately we have a 2 week wait for results, which is a bit stressful. However to be honest I'm feeling more upbeat now that the procedure is over and am more able to look on the positive side. The baby is kicking and wriggling - I can even feel it with my hand through the tummy and that is doing a lot towards making me feel happier and developing a bond.

DD who is only just 2 is very into the whole baby idea now. Quite unprompted this morning she said 'we have to get a new car for the baby' and also a 'new chair' and a 'new bed next to my bed' . She also said 'baby is growing, will come out later to play' - think I'll have to manage expectations somewhat! Still it's all starting to feel that this could become a reality, it's all been a bit tense and abstract until now.

Anyway I'll stop waffling. Thanks for all your kind thoughts recently, and I did really feel your support whilst I was lying there in the room, you are a great bunch and deserve your own happy outcomes, and I'm so sure they are there for each and every one of you .

ScorpiowithabigS · 15/04/2009 15:35

Lionstar - loving your description of Fidget Rest up plenty and love to you xx

Neeko · 15/04/2009 15:41

Lion so pleased it went well and love the name Fidget. Very cute. It sounds like you've been very brave so gold star to you and to DH for the tea, lunch and generally looking after you. Here you were hoping that you'd never have another 2ww again and you do, but for totally different reasons! We'll be here to hold your hand.

mermaidspurse · 15/04/2009 15:41

lion and fidget thats brightened up a rainy day. They sound like they are really looking after you, fab. Rest lots.x I can go out without worrying now.

Neeko · 15/04/2009 16:10

Yesterday afternoon (when I was busy) this thread went mad and it took me ages and lots of Emmsy homework to catch up. Today when DD is napping there's no one here. have you all gone somewhere without me??

bluesatinsash · 15/04/2009 16:43

oh lion - your scan sounded such a lovely experience and seeing your little fidget rolling around must have been wonderful. They sounded like they took extra care with the amnio too . Rest up and relax.. Your DD sounds lovely, already nesting on your behalf .

LOL neeko - it goes like that some days, mad 40 postings then a couple of days with hardly anything... You could probably plot it in flow chart type way against barbie's days out at the beach .

barbie1 · 15/04/2009 17:04

hey blue are you saying it me thats always talking?
Im here neeko just back from the beach

lion i love fidget! rest up now the worse is done, positive thoughts for the next two weeks xxx

Lion well done for being a brave girl! Your DD sounds lovely, its great that she's so excited about Fidget arriving.

How are our new BFP group today? Blue,Mollie and Jools I hope you are getting rest and pampering. I very good excuse to eat chocolate I feel. [bgrin]

lion so happy today went well for you, love the name fidget, makes me smile as we call dd smidget. Your dd sounds so cute talking about the baby. Take it easy hun.

monkeysbum hello stranger, lovely to hear from you again, sorry to hear you news but you are still here we will all get there! Glad to see you join us again.

neeko very pleased to 'meet' you also, thanks for the thread update, I'm still trying to catch up with all the news I have missed. Preswick's not too far at all, we have a flat we use in Largs so even closer, you've gotta love it at the coast.

barbie my lovely buddy, well done to you with the fb response, sad how some people are, love the barbiemobile btw. Lets hope we can both post our own news on fb in the near future.

blue still smiling every time I think of your news, I know what you mean about going to work with your little secret, kind of exciting really. So happy for you.

mollie hope your GP appointment goes well and you can get your scan sorted out. Good idea not to be scanned before 8 weeks, in my past experiences earlier scans have only gave me more worry. Smart lady.

vjay can't believe you are 21 weeks now, I feel like I have been away forever. Sorry you are feeling down it must be so frustrating about the funding, hope you get it sorted soon. I'm sure the lovely ladies on here can give you a lift when you need it.

sabs sorry to hear about the worries from work, not what you need atm. You are doing the right thing, let HR sort it out and put yourself and your lo first.

mermaid hope the acupuncture went well, I keep hearing good things about it, like blue says keep thinking zen!!!

4ever how are you my lovely, good to hear from you again.

jools hope you are not working too hard, you have the best excuse ever for feet up time!

Big hellos again to MLS, curly, scamper, scorpio, graciegirl and a few more that I haven't had the chance to chat to yet, will rectify that in the very near futute.

Wow forgot how long that takes. Well had a nice afternoon here with DH and DD, went swimming then for lunch together. Must admit enjoying being away from work so much now, only now beginning to realise how toxic it really was in there...................getting out can only be good for ttc again.

GracieGirl · 15/04/2009 17:31

Hello MM!

I've just done my first opk of the cycle - CD 12 - negative (that's a good thing as DH not home till saturday). I'm on nights over the weekend which should be when I ovulate. DH will be in the house during the bit when I'm asleep but will be out by the time I wake up, so wouldn't normally interact that much (not much spare time round 13 hour nights, travelling each way and sleeping). Just trying to figure out how I'm going to get away with waking up in the middle of my sleep for a quick BD both days without DH getting suspicious, realising its "ovulation day" and getting performance anxiety. If I'm half (more like 90%) asleep and he's got performance anxiety we'll not get anywhere!! Shift work really is a pain in the ar*e!!! If I miss those 2 days he's not home again for another week.

mm1509 · 15/04/2009 18:09

Hi gracie oh I know exactly how you mean about shift work, it's got a lot to answer for. If it helps each time I tried to work when I would ovulate I was working nightshift for the date, we just waited till i was off shift before BD and I still fell preg each time. I remember at the time thinking maybe next month. Four times this happened and four times bingo, first month trying. We didn't use OPK just me working it out manually so we could have been out by a day or two but you never know. You have it harder the fact that your DH is away, but then again if you only have a two day window that alone might keep him off the scent and stop any anxiety, a woman has her needs you know.
