Time for a new thread, here`s to speedy conceptions and speedy labours

He's 4.5 !!! and just been a wise man in the school nativity (and managed to behave fairly well which was remarkable). He's a real handful. Sometimes I wonder how we'd have managed with a 2nd and him if things had worked out differently, although I do think that he would have been a really great big brother quite a bit of the time. Got a phone call from the school just as I was being given a lift to the Dr - he'd fallen over at breaktime and had a big bruise on his forehead - Dh went to pick him up whilst I was waiting - and we managed to slip him in for a quick visit to the Dr who said he looked OK and said what to look out for just in case (none of that happened - bit quite for a while, but picked up after lunch and got back to his normal chirpy self later on, so back to school tomorrow)

If you want to drop in, I can quite often be found in the tearoom on the one-child section - not that everyone in the tearoom has only one child. Nice place to hang out...

nomoremagnolia · 10/12/2009 08:26

Wow what a grown up boy! My DGodS is almost 3 and I can't believe how grown up he is. It hardly seems possible that he was a tiny baby just a couple of years ago. I may pop over to see you in the tearoom, it sounds a bit like this thread with a rather motley crew of people I love the mix of friends I have met here even if not all of them are/were ttc no1!

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 10/12/2009 12:00

Its a really nice bunch of people - I'm sure that you'd fit in very happily... Not that I'm trying to pull you away from this thread of course, but its sometimes nice to just hang out and chat about anything and everything.

Lots of support too when its needed.

If anyone wants to drop in, there are quite a number of 'regulars', so if you need any catch-up, let me know! but you don't need to worry about catching up all will soon become relatively obvious.

Scorps · 10/12/2009 12:05

Yes nomore cos otherwise you would not have had the fortune of 'meeting' me!

37+6 today. Not long!

mistlethrush · 10/12/2009 12:31

Hi Scorps! Or me!!!

nomoremagnolia · 10/12/2009 12:31

scorps
Not long at all but what would you like knitted? What haven't you got?

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 10/12/2009 12:35

Nomore - have you got any good child's jumper patterns? Might do mistlechick a jumper for next winter - might last more than 3 months that way, but would probably have to do a size 7 by then.

nomoremagnolia · 10/12/2009 12:55

MT did you join ravelry? There are loads of patterns on there and quite a few are free ones. I haven't made anything bigger than 9-12 months size baby jumpers/cardis yet!

OP posts:
mistlethrush · 10/12/2009 13:04

Thanks Nomore - yes I did, good idea!

I found a good pattern for golf club covers which I made very sucessfully last year for a secret santa present...

Very easy to do if anyone wants a go!

Scorps · 10/12/2009 13:08

nomore you are very sweet I haven't got many hats for her...., my other MN friend has knitted her a cardi...and my MIL has knitted a blanket! Though anything you would like to make would be really so lovely

nomoremagnolia · 10/12/2009 14:10

Ok a hat it is then pink?

OP posts:
nomoremagnolia · 11/12/2009 15:03

I have just (last night and today) made baby scorps a hat, I'll put a pic on my profile It's quite trendy so if you don't like it and want something more traditional just say - I don't mind making a different hat.

pureeandpearls · 04/01/2010 08:55

Hellooooooooooooo
[worries that she killed the thread and heads back to SPD sofa...]

Ready · 04/01/2010 09:10

Happy New Year everyone.... hope Father Christmas dropped off what you wanted... or at least a little IOU xxx

hobnobs · 12/01/2010 19:39

Happy New Year (a bit late) from me too. Let's hope this is the year for the last lot of No 1 Babies on this thread.

It's been ages since I've posted - have managed to lurk but I'm too lazy it's a bit slow posting from my phone (plus DS keeps me a bit busy!).

Ready How is DD doing? Is she 6 months yet? Have you started weaning? Hope you have a bit more success than we did. DS rejected my carefully prepared purees and refused to be spoon fed so we've ended up doing finger food, Baby Led Weaning by default really. It's mostly fun (but very messy) though he's still not eating masses (so I'm still feeding him loads). Oh well, good excuse to eat more cake

Nomore When do you start your next round of IVF? Delighted that you've got two more goes on the NHS.

Scorps Have seen one of your other threads. Not sure if you still look at this thread but firstly big congratulations on Lacey's arrival. . Secondly, so sorry that life is being so difficult for you right now. It really isn't fair but you seem to be coping amazingly at what life has thrown at you through no fault of your own.

PureeandPearls How's the SPD? When are you due? (Too lazy to look back in thread!)

Wave to Sybil & TooMuch if you're still around and anyone else I've missed (including Gilly if you ever lurk on here). DS is completely exhausting but a delight and definitely keeping me busy (still not a great sleeper - definite regression though teething hasn't helped).

hobnobs · 12/01/2010 19:45

Oh and a big wave to Mistlethrush as well. Hope DS is well. Sounds like you're being kept busy knitting.

pureeandpearls · 13/01/2010 09:34

Hello all [waves manically]

Hobnobs- 33+5 so still a way to go but seeing consultant about early delivery on 25th....SPD and snow mean I have been stuck in the house for what feels like months so am more than ready to have the baby and start being able to walk properly......thanks for asking. bet you are glad you did

PiggyPenguin · 15/01/2010 16:29

Hey chaps,

just dropping in to say hello really (extra big wave for house-bound puree)

Scorpio, I have also been lurking on your other thread but really don't know what to say. Hopefully 2010 will end so much better than it began for you.

Also, isn't Londonlottie due to have her duo soon? fingers crossed we hear good news from her soon.

pureeandpearls · 05/03/2010 08:49

Wotcha- missed this thread wit hmy birth announcement:

baby Annabel arrived on 17th Feb weighing 7lbs 15oz after a six day induction!

hobnobs · 25/03/2010 16:00

As I said on Nommore's thread, congratulations PureeandPearls.

A 6 day induction - I dread to think - didn't quite live up to the thread title! Hope DD1 is loving having a baby sister.
