Welcome hopefor, hope that this thread brings you some luck .

When you say irregular, what is the range of cycle days for you? E.g. I'm 28-33 days, with one unforgettable 64 day cycle when I came off the pill.

hopeforbundleofjoy · 17/02/2009 11:18

my cyclces are all over i can go up to 6 months with out a period, this cycle was brought on by a drug, so im not sure when to test, before this one i was last on in october 08.

whatsfortea · 17/02/2009 12:53

Hi everyone, just catching up from last week.

Sorry to those who have got AF and hello to hopeforbundle

flintski in answer to your 'how long' question - stopped using contraception over a year ago, but only tried properly (ie making efforts to BD at the right time) for 3 months before conceiving, then had mc, now been trying for another 4 months since mc.

Well, I'll be coming to the end of the 2ww this weekend, but have a disappointing lack of symptoms. At one point yesterday afternoon I thought my boobs felt a bit sore but think it was just my imagination. Temps arent doing anything out the ordinary either. Arses.

But, speaking of temps, funtime, what's going on with yours? Saw your other post this morning, they are really shooting up! Sending you lots of positive vibes!!

funtimewincies · 17/02/2009 13:15

Heaven knows whatsfor ! I posted them in the hope that one of our temping experts would tell me that they usually do that if you're a bit under the weather and to stop me getting excited .

Blimey Hopefor, sorry to hear that you've had such a rough time of it. All I can suggest is that you get a packet of cheap dip-stick tests from the internet (as those of us who are a bit addicted to testing do ) and do a weekly test until you get either a BFP or AF. Hope that the Clomid helps.

whatsfortea · 17/02/2009 14:31

funtime, the sensible part of me would say to not get hopes up too much as could be head cold related.

But of course the obsessive symptom spotting part of me would be bouncing off the walls.

Sorry if that doesnt help

wasabipeanut · 17/02/2009 14:56

Funtime - surely if your temps stay up its a good sign? If it was just due to a cold you would only be warmer for a day or two I'd have thought. I am an eternal optimist.

Whatsfortea - don't give up hope yet. When I did get my BFP I didn't have anything out of the ordinary in the 2ww. That's why I tend not to symptom spot - I know I don't have any!! I didn't with my ds either really bar one little funny 5 minutes of nausea at abput what would have been about 8-10 days post ov.

hopeforbundleofjoy - welcome to our little gang. You have had a tough time. It's difficult to predict when you shoudl start testing given that your cycles have been so irregular. I second Funtimes advice - buy some web cheapies and join the pee on a stick club! Based on day 1 being 31st Jan I'd say you would probably be ok testing from early March.

Flintski - well done on the job interview. My thoughts are that you should proceed as normal. Frankly, an employer has no business knowing that you are ttc. If in doubt ask yourself whether they would ask your DP the same question!

I am in a sort of 2ww now expect not really waiting for much- although have no idea if I ov'd or not or indeed, when I should expect my AF. Theoretically it should be some time early next week if its 4 weeks from the end of my mc but then if I did ov last Friday as I suspected I might then it would be a few days later presumably.

Anyway. have a lovely day all xx

whatsfortea · 17/02/2009 15:24

wasabi, thanks for that, I am indeed still hopeful. I hope that your cycle settles into a routine again soon so that you know where you are.

When I conceived last year, I was still very new to the whole ttc thing and apart from temping to see when I ovulated, that was all I did, it was a complete shock when got a BFP as hadnt even thought about symptom spotting then, so I'm hoping that it would be the same again. Oh, roll on the weekend when I will know one way or another. This 2ww is so loooooooong!

funtimewincies · 17/02/2009 18:22

Thanks for the sane advice (optimistic and realistic), I know that I can count on you ladies .

This is the deal with the temps. I usually have 30/31 day cycle, saw the ov. dip and rise on days 18 and 19. Luteal phase is usually 12 days.

Temps have been:
35.95 (day 18) - +ov. test
36.24 (day 19)
36.31 (day 20)
36.28 (day 21)
36.38 (day 22)
36.50 (day 23) - day 1 of cold
36.88 (day 24)
36.97 (day 25)
37.07 (day 26) - today and still feeling v. rough

I don't feel pregnant in any way, so I think that I'll just have to accept that it's not happening for another month.

I'm really fed up with this ttc lark .

flintski · 17/02/2009 19:39

oh funtime - you sound really fed up. i wish there was something i could say that might make you feel more positive but i have absolutely no idea about the whole temping thing. it could still be good news though couldn't it? its the waiting isn't it? i wish we could all just forget what cd we are on, i'm sure it would be liberating!

oh and whatsfor - i'm with wasabi on no symptoms actually being positive. i'm pretty sure i had a chemical preg in august and its the only time i didn't have some tell-tale pmt symptoms. - good luck and sorry to hear of your loss too, hope you are lucky really soon.

hello to hopefor - hope this is your month

thanks for all the job comments - i know its noones business about ttc and lets face it, i might noot get lucky so think i am going to forge ahead with this and other applications and just face the music if (please, please) i do get pg before sept.

how is everyone else this eve?

yellowflowers · 17/02/2009 23:17

everything crossed for you funtime - either you are pregnant or you are ill and if the latter then big hugs because that is rubbish and if pregnant then, well won't get excited yet but woohooo.

I am 3dpo today but going to shag to make sure we are covered as per Deanna Plan. Bah - would rather just go to sleep but going to bed in a moment and have to be in the mood. Grrrrrr.

OP posts:
yellowflowers · 18/02/2009 10:02

I am doing v bad at temping this month as hadn't put thermometer by bed this morning and couldn't find it. I do however have indigestion having eaten a hot cross bun for breakfast - a sign?

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 18/02/2009 10:55

Think am putting a little too much pressure on my poor DH this month... He was so tired yesterday but we did BD... Have now managed CD 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13. I think I had EWCM on CD 12 and I def had pains - but am not 100% sure if they were ov pains... seems a bit early - but cycle confuses me anyway cos it can be anything from 25 days to 32...

I haven't been using OPKs or temping - so when do you lot think I might OV? Is it usually on the day of EWCM?

so confuing...

funtime am totally with you - am fed up too... xxx

Joolsiam · 18/02/2009 11:06

Hi Iggypiggy - I don't temp or use ov sticks either (am tempted to buy ov sticks just to confirm I AM ovulating though !)

I am 99% certain that the day of most EWCM indicates imminent ovulation and I generally get ovulation pains later that evening. It seems to follow a pattern, as if my OV pains are later evening, then AF will start later in the evening 2 weeks later.

Funtime I've been on enough 2WW's to know what it is like - time seems to go backwards and you can't think about anything but the next random twinge or loo visit. I can't help, but have some sympathy - can't even deliver choccie as all I have here are Slimfast snack bars !!

AF is just departing here - CD4, so not quite time for major BD action. Nothing much more to report really - am just a bit down about life, the universe and everything - spent hours in tears yesterday evening. Am trying to just get on with life and reduce my reliance on MN before I get sacked !

Thinking of you all though - just not up to posting loads at the mo....

kittycatcat · 18/02/2009 11:11

Huge hugs to all of you. Everyone is so low. [group hug] xxxx

yellowflowers · 18/02/2009 11:21

Excellent BDing iggy. I am ready to stop for the month now but must continue in case I got it wrong and ovulation is late (can be between days 16 and 25 and today is day 20).

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 18/02/2009 12:34

jools I don't post much when I have AF - as don't have much to say at that point! I find it quite a depressing tiome when you can't do anything...

I don't usually notice much EWCM and I def had on CD12 - which could mean ov on that day or the day after then? Never usually have pains either - so am wondering if am actually Ov'ing every month [hmmm]

So then AF would be due CD 26 or 27? perhaps?

am going to keep going with BD a thon, just to be sure

thanks yellow - we have made extra effort - is worth I try I thought... anything is worth a try I know what you mean about stopping tho!

kittycatcat · 18/02/2009 12:42

iggypiggy have you registered with www.fertilityfriend.com/ i am on my first AF since coming off the pill and am finding it very helpful.

iggypiggy · 18/02/2009 13:00

kittycatcat yes I have according to this month's predication it says i will Ov tomorrow... event hough i have added in all the stuff about EWCM and pains etc...

Is very confusing

iggypiggy · 18/02/2009 13:04

I have just read this online (babyworld I think?)

For a woman aged 20-25, the chances of conceiving are around 25 per cent for each cycle (that is a one in four chance)

For a woman aged 30-35, the chances are 15 per cent, and thereafter the likelihood of becoming pregnant continues to decline with increasing age

It will take a couple in their early twenties an average of five cycles to conceive

Women in their early thirties will get pregnant, on average, after nine cycles

One in ten couples will take more than a year to succeed in conceiving

How cheery

funtimewincies · 18/02/2009 13:07

Blimey iggypiggy, we should change your name to iggybunny !

Temp. this morning has settled back to a more reasonable 36.60, so it looks as if I'm ill rather than preggers. No pg symptoms, so resigned for this month. If I manage it next month a due date would be very close to ds' birthday as, looking back at my charts, I conceived around March 3rd with him. Fingers crossed for a busy Chrismas this year .

Thanks for the kind words, I think that I'd be less grumpy of I wasn't in the position of having the secondary battle of keeping the beans after the first battle of actually conceiving .

Right, potatoes to chit now that ds is having a nap.

yellowflowers · 18/02/2009 13:12

okay - well this is my ninth cycle of 'properly' trying so maybe I will be Ms Average and conceive this month - everything crossed...

Iggy I have used FF for a year but originally just putting in ewcm, shagging and period dates, and then it gives you ovulation based on 14 days before period - then a few months ago I started temping and it really came into its own - charts are great and you can compare charts with others (even choosing just to do with people your age etc) and adjusting ovulation based on temp which is also a godsend if cycles not regular so you know when you can stop bd every other night.

Joolsiam · 18/02/2009 13:13

I use Fertility Friend, but currently over-ride it and put in my own ovulation day, based on CM and ov pains. Am thinking of buying some ov sticks today, just to double check my thinking for this cycle.

I am slightly concerned about ovulation - all the signs are there in terms of CM pattern and ov pain BUT:

Back in July when I thought I was PG and it turned out to be a CP, I noticed very sore boobs from around 2 days post ovulation - this was a CP

The same thing happened the next month - AF arrived on schedule

The month after was my BFP month - same sore boobs way before implantation could have occurred so I assumed it was an OV symptom.

Since the MC, I haven't had sore boobs AT ALL post ov and am now worrying that, despite the signs, the lack of sore boobs means that I'm going through the motions but not actually ovulating.

Any ideas anyone ??

WanabeMum · 18/02/2009 13:42

Hey ladies,

Lots of negative vibes on here at the moment. Isn't it a bitch how the 2WW does that to us?

Funtime don't give up hope just yet, wait until you know for sure.

Jools you sounds really low hunny hope you get back to your normal self soon. It's aweful feeling down. Have plenty of "Me time" i.e. baths, wine, pampering in general! That may lift you a little.

Don't give up ladies, it took me 11 months to conceive and I'm 25 in June so everyone is different and not everyone is ttc by the book every month. It's not possible, it would drive you mad! Keep up the hard work ladies, it will happen when the time is right xxx

iggypiggy · 18/02/2009 16:30

quite like iggybunny funtime I was told the other day that apparently there is some children's tv thing called IgglePiggle... which is v. close to iggypiggy! Expect everyone thinks I chose it for that reason - which I didn't - It's the nickname I give one of my pets

yellow - that is exactly what I do with Fertility Friend... Guess I could do temping - but would have to tell DH that is what I am doing - and am worried that he might feel more pressure if I start doing that... He is kind of in a 'it will happen when it happens' sort of frame of mind...
