Huuuuge congrats Sn0wflake. What lovely news. Gives all of us awaiting AF some hope.

Sorry you're not feeling so positive xserial. You never know... hang on in there.

BBL - I've had a rotten cold too and choking, snorting, sneezing. It's v attractive isn't it?

BeckyBendyLegs · 11/12/2008 11:32

AF due around 4pm today. Not here yet... I can feel it coming though.

Alibobster · 11/12/2008 14:09

Snowflake, many, many congratulations, I'm so pleased for you, a lovely Christmas present . Xserial, belated birthday wishes x. Well I really need your advice ladies. Did an Asda hpt on Tuesday afternoon (Day AF was due) and got a -. Did another this morning first thing and got a faint +. What's bothering me though is it says the result will appear between 1-5 mins but don't read the results after 10 mins. My positive result appeared sometime between 5-10 mins, but I'm not sure if this is valid? Did a a cheap test at lunchtime and it was -. Totally confused now

Alibobster · 11/12/2008 15:05

Anyone around??

FertilityFiend · 11/12/2008 15:50

Alibobster - gosh how frustrating! Sounds inconclusive really. A line within 10 mins does sound hopeful, but I wouldn't want to raise your hopes unless you've had a 'definite' positive within the time they say.

Different brands of tests do have different reactivity strengths, so that may be confusing things. Also factors like how concentrated your wee is when you test may have an effect at this early stage.

Unfortunately the only real answer is to wait a day or so and do another one, or possibly to go to the chemist and get one of the super-sensitive ones which should hopefully give you a better indication one way or the other.

GOOD LUCK !!!!!!

FertilityFiend · 11/12/2008 16:09

ps I think the 'Pregnancy Test FAQ' section on that site is the best one to look at.

xserialshopper · 11/12/2008 16:37

Alibobster how frustrating I'm with FF and think you should maybe get a first response or a clearblue test.

BBL it could just be preggi symptons, though, my feelings of af coming were accurate at today is CD1 for me (af started last night)

Fingers and toes crossed for the rest of ya

AF is late! Too snotty to care at the moment though...sniff, sneeze, snot.

MintChocAddict · 11/12/2008 21:57

Very frustrating Ali. Good luck if you decide to re-test soon. Fingers crossed for you.

Sorry to hear that AF got you xserial. Hopefully next month'll be your lucky one.

BBL - Ooooh keep us posted.

BeckyBendyLegs · 12/12/2008 16:03

AF not here yet but just did a test: negatory. I don't feel pg anyway. Just waiting for blumin' AF to arrive now so I can get on with having a glass of wine and the monthly feeling sorry for myself!

Aww BBL and xserial I'm so sorry for your rotten news. I did another cheapo hpt first thing this morning and it was a BFN too. Let's just enjoy lots of pate, peanuts and cava over Christmas and make January our lucky month xxx

MintChocAddict · 12/12/2008 23:06

Sorry to hear your news BBL and Ali. Here's hoping January is lucky for you.
I don't think I'll be lucky this month either. Reckon AF will appear over the next 3-4 days if past few months anything to go by. Getting those AF signs.
I love Pate so will gorge on that if AF arrives.

BeckyBendyLegs · 13/12/2008 06:37

I've already told DH to buy me some tia maria as my favourite drink at Christmas, and you might go 'blugghhhhh' but I like to drink tia maria and orange juice: tastes like chocolate orange!

We'd all have been feeling sick on Christmas day if we were pg now and feeling sick on Christmas day must be really tough! And we can drink cava as you say, eat pate, and wine and just take it easy. A friend of mine conceived on Christmas Day after 11 months of trying because she said it was the first time she just thought 'sod this!' and relaxed. My first reaction was: 'when on earth did you find time to have sex on Christmas day!!!!'

xserialshopper · 13/12/2008 12:10

Sex on Christmas Day How did she manage that I wonder

Well Mint we're hanging on for you with everything crossed.

Ali do you want one of my (many) cb preggi tests? so you can put us out of our misery

BBL urggghhhhh

Snow How are you doing darling?

FertilityFiend · 14/12/2008 17:13

Hi Folks - sorry am a bit behind, just wanted to say Xserial, it's especially hard when you've felt positive on a particular cycle isn't it - hugs to you xx

BBL and Ali - sorry to hear that the BFP's are being elusive for you, let us know how you get on. Hope you're feeling better BBL.

Any news MintChoc and Snowflake?

I too am aghast at the thought of having time to shag on Christmas day (and also fairly aghast at the thought of Tia Maria and OJ BBL - doesn't it curdle?? )

Re Xmas pigging out, I must admit I don't alter my lifestyle when ttc in terms of eating and drinking - prob because I've (kind of) been trying for nearly 8 years now and I'm a believer in getting on with your life and if it happens it happens. But for me it's only 'happened' once in 8 years so I guess I'm not a great advert for a life of non-deprivation - oh well!!

BeckyBendyLegs · 14/12/2008 17:47

Hiya

Thanks 'FertilityFiend* I'm feeling better, albeit a bit deaf thanks to all the gunk in my head. Watched TV last night really loud much to DH's amusement.

Well, my AF hasn't 'properly' arrived yet and is now 4 days late, very unusual for me. But I had a -ve result so really confused. I thought AF arrived as had a bit of blood, not much, on Friday so thought it was slowly starting so drank wine Friday night but then it stopped and I've had two days of no blodd at all and feel guilty...but then if it turned out I was preggers I'd be tooo happy to care about a bit of wine. With my DS1 I went skiing for a week and drank wine very night before realising I was preggers. But don't feel at all preggers. No symptoms at all. I could go naked jogging if I wanted to. I think AF is still coming, just a matter of when. Should I test again tomorrow? These tests are those cheapy internet ones. I have no idea how accurate they are.

Tia maria and OJ doesn't curdle and is totally yummy! I think you should all at least try it!

Hope you are all well.

xserialshopper · 15/12/2008 13:02

Mint any news?

OP posts:
MintChocAddict · 15/12/2008 23:37

Hi All,

BBL - Tia Maria and OJ - yuck, yuck and yuck. However....I am partial to the odd chocolate orange or 3 so maybe you're onto something there
I'm now floored with the world's heaviest cold too. Thanks for sharing. .
Maybe a TM and OJ would help to cure me!
Frustrating for you being unsure of what's happening. Fingers crossed for some good news for you.

to FF and xserial. I think you're right about just trying to get on with your life FF. I know a few folk who have decided to stop actively trying and it's happened for them soon after. Hard not to obsess though.

Hope everything is alright with you Ali.

Am now on day 35ish and cycles have been 34-35 over the last few months. Still expecting AF to arrive tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm going shopping tomorrow so will maybe throw a couple of cheapies in the basket if nothing happening in the morning, but will have the willpower to wait until Wednesday at the earliest to test. I will be strong.

Hopefully speak to you all soon.

MintChocAddict · 15/12/2008 23:42

BBL - Reading back I just realised that I probably had my cold before you did and not the other way around!!

Keep us posted with any news.

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/12/2008 08:18

STILL NO AF!!! And I haven't tested today.

Sorry you're struck down with the major snots MintChocAddict. I think a tia maria and OJ would definitely help!

Perhaps my cycles are getting longer now I am getting older. I am 37 next Thursday. Who knows?

Alibobster · 16/12/2008 21:19

Hi Gals, sorry not been around for a couple of days. Xserial thank you for the kind offer of cb test but I'm def not pg - have done another few cheapo tests over the weekend and all - so back to square one.BBL and Mint, how you both doing?

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/12/2008 22:16

Hi Aliboster when is your AF due? Has it not arrived yet? I can't work out why I keep getting -ves and my AF is still not here. It's so weird, isn't it? Life should be simpler than this...

Alibobster · 16/12/2008 23:12

Hi BBL, my AF was due on the 9th Dec but came on the 6th and was really light and only lasted 2 days. I'd hoped it might have been implantation bleeding but it appears to have just been a weird period. Have evertything crossed for you x

xserialshopper · 17/12/2008 10:45

Ali it's really strange but this month I had a 2 day period as well!!!! Last month I had a 3 day one - and that was strange as I'm normally a 5 day girl myself. I wonder what's going on with our bodies Maybe it's the lack of sunshine and the time of year

BBL I wish I was 37 you're a sping chicken compared to me(42)

Mint how are you? Which cheapy test did you buy in the end? I think there's an whole thread dedicated to sainsbury's ones, i.e. they either work for you or against you

No work for me yesterday - so I spend the day in bed as I was feeling a little bit 'fluie' (but not snotty like Mint)
