That's reassuring SES. I did read somewhere that implantation can be quicker and more effective following a mc as the uterus lining is nice and fresh so the bean snuggles down nice and early.
I MUST get on with my lecture - it seems so unimportant at the moment, but will be little consolation to the students I'm sure . Will be odd going into work tomorrow with my 'secret'

Have been lurking for a while but now feeling the need to post. I stopped taking the mini pill 8 weeks ago now & still no AF. I found out I was pg with ds 3 weeks after coming off the pill so sort of assumed the same thing would happen this time. Definitely not pg & now worried something's wrong as had been having some problems with severe period type pains prior to ttc. Planning on making appt with GP tomorrow but don't want to be sent away & told to wait for AF. Shold I be concerned after 8 weeks or am I being paranoid & what, if anything, is my GP likely to do. Dh doesn't seem remotely bothered but in my head I've pretty much decided there's something terribly wrong. Am definitely completely obsessed, sorry.

Diege · 12/10/2008 14:35

Obsessed is good here Clare! Welcome to the thread - you will be in good hands here .
I think it can take some time for your body to readjust after pill, though understand your concerns. Have you tried using ovulation tests to check you're ovulating? GPs are generally hopeless with this I've found, though if you see one at least you'll be 'logged' into the system iyswim .

Just updating my bit of the list

I've been to try out a phil/teds sport today. It's fab n lush n I want one. Gotta shop about though, it's very pricey at Mothercare. Kiddicare seems to be the cheapest, or does anyone else know any better?

Is there any mileage in buying secondhand do you think?

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 12/10/2008 16:41

hi

claire - it took my periods a while to come back after coming after pill just takes your body a while to adjust.
just checking back in my diary for when we were trying my last period before stopping pill was jan 23rd didnt get next one till march 22nd
hi sorky - i got my quinny from kiddicare they are definetly the cheapest as far as i know

Diege · 12/10/2008 16:53

Hi Sorky - great news on having a girl . Good to see you! Agree with TINKS kiddicare is fab - cheap and excellent service. If you are buying second hand I'd stringly advise going to see it first. I made the mistake of buying off e-bay - the 'once used' Quinny Zap was hardly that, and it was too much faff to do much about it!
Absolutely shattered after 4.30 start. Lecture nearly done though, so looking forward to a night in front of the telly!

Claire236 · 12/10/2008 19:00

I was on the mini pill which I know generally doesn't take long to leave your system but I was taking Cerazette, which stops you ovulating, which other types of mini pill don't so I don't know if that means it takes longer to get back to normal. I'd been having other period related problems prior to ttc which I'm worried about as well. Haven't tried ovulation tests. I've been too busy trying to pretend I'm not worried in the hope of tricking AF into appearing. An extremely scientific approach I'm sure you'll agree.

kayzisexpecting · 12/10/2008 19:48

Hi Sorky Congrats on a girl!!! Bambino direct are the cheapest for Phil and Teds. Thats where we are getting ours from. Here is the link.

We are getting the Apple one as we love the colour. DH did wants the camo blue one bit I dont like it at all.

Claire I'd probably go and see your GP and then as Diege said even if they are no help you'll be on their system.

Work wasn't too bad actually, despite it being my first weekend in 18/19 months. It was quite quiet.

Hope everyone is ok.

GruffaloSoldier · 12/10/2008 20:17

Claire! I was on Ceerazette and i didnt have a period between coming off and getting a BFP! It was 8 weeks between coming off pill and getting a BFP, I certainly wouldn't be worried just yet! Are you def not pg?

Evening everyone else!

GruffaloSoldier · 12/10/2008 20:18

Ps - ovulation tests did not work with me either!

LaTourEiffel · 12/10/2008 21:06

Evening all. I'm at home now, got back last night and had tea and crashed out.

The doctor at the hospital said I can still go on holiday on Saturday (going to porgugal for the week), but am not sure what the insurance company is going to say about it - I'll have to declare it though. He said it should be fine.

I have to wait for an outpatients appt. which he said would be about 4 weeks time, then sometime after that I'll be given an appt. to have my gall bladder removed. From what I've read it will be a keyhole surgery operation.

I asked how it would/could affect pg and he said that I could sail through without any more problems (DS was with us at this point and he said, see, look at your son), but on the other hand, if I did have a problem, it could be very very serious - something called pancreatitis? (need to do some more reading)

So, at the moment it looks like I need to come back off the ttc list . However, I'm going to go and see my GP this morning and ask his opinion.

For now though, its a low fat diet, no cheese, cream, butter, fry ups, take-aways, chip shop chips etc. I don't live on this things but not being able to have them at all is more than a little bit crap .

Perhaps we could have a new 'in limbo' section just for me .

Sorry for self-centred post. Thanks for thinking of me Ses, it helps.

Diege · 12/10/2008 21:20

Aww Latour I feel so sorry for you . I'm sure future pregnancies will be monitored closely - if I were you I'd read as much as I could around the subject, plus your GP sounds good. Really thinking of you - you're not on your own with this, we're a team on the wagon . And you're not in limbo just getting things in place before ttc .
Hi to everyone else. Bed for me now so speak tomorrow xx

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 12/10/2008 21:22

LaTour- glad you're home!! we both got out on the same day!! take care of yourself!!

On the plus side at least you're still fine to go on holiday, may make a week pass very fast!!

SesHasapinkline · 12/10/2008 21:46

LaTour - great to hear you're home and that you can go to Portugal. Take it easy though and be kind to yourself. I know how it can get when you feel everything's going wrong. Feel free to use us for support - Diege put it v well when she said we're all a team here.

OP posts:
LaTourEiffel · 12/10/2008 21:51

Diege, thanks, I like your angle on things..getting things in place for ttc..

Have been doing some reading tonight and quite a few articles seem to say its ok to be pregnant with gallstones.

I was in hospital at 29wks with DS with unexplained pain - they scanned me but didn't find anything then. I know now that that was the same thing - gallstones, its called biliary colic when one of the stones gets stuck and causes excrutiating pain.

The consultant asked me to describe the pain and I came up with 'hot contractions', he said it was a brilliant description . I wonder if he'd actually ever experienced it.

Def. will be trying to go see the doctor tomorrow now after reading what I have, as really would prefer to crack straight on with things...

LaTourEiffel · 12/10/2008 21:55

Thanks Ses and Glask. Sorry it took me ages to post that as I'm watching heroes over the top of the screen!

LaTourEiffel · 12/10/2008 22:09

I'm very very tired after bugger all sleep on Friday night, had a big 2.5 hr nap this afternoon so hopefully won't feel too rubbish in the morning - goodnight all.

kayzisexpecting · 13/10/2008 08:03

Morning,

LaTour, I'm glad you are at home and that you can still go on holiday.

I hope that once you have had your operation you can then start ttc again. I'm sure it'll all be ok.

I slept all night!!!! It was so nice, wait for a sleepless night tonight I bet!!!

A little question for all of you.

If you were my DH and you took the dry clothes of the airer, where would you put my maternity jeans?????

I can't find them anywhere. I've checked all the drawers, the washing bag and everywhere else I can think off. He has to have his mobile off when at work so I can't text him and ask.

Hope everyone is ok.

GYo · 13/10/2008 08:28

Morning Kay

Glad to hear you had a better night. Did you try his drawers? Maybe he bundled them up with something of his?

kayzisexpecting · 13/10/2008 08:30

Yeah I tried there. I just can't think for the life of me where he would put them.

GYo · 13/10/2008 08:34

Hi LaTour- glad you are home and you can go on hols. Think Diege is right about getting this sorted before TTC.

Hope you are feeling in less pain this week. Do you have to go to work?

GYo · 13/10/2008 08:35

LOL- weird, that kind of thing happens at home all the time!

Maybe he thought still dirty so put them back in dirty washing pile or even into washing machine. Good luck!

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 13/10/2008 08:35
