WanabeMum · 15/10/2008 19:46

Heeby!!!! you're back! missed you honey. Yes women's bodies are shite sometimes but i guess it will all be that much more precious when it does happen (no i haven't been drinking lol). I'm trying the new optimism route. not sure how long it will last though.
Glad you had a fab holiday and so sorry that the beast arrived for you. Fingers crossed your scan goes well though, keep us posted.
As for the SIL i totally understand. There seems to be "accidents" everywhere at the moment making me think either they're lieing or just damn lucky! and if it's luck then where the hell is mine?!! Anyway, here we are back to CD1.
I'm using the Clearblue fertility monitor. Ok it cost me £50 on ebay but so worthe the money. It told me exactly when i ovulated which put my mind at ease knowing that i actually did, and it identifies another 5 days giving you almost 7 days of high fertility. Highly recommended!

Wasabi i know what you mean, every time i see a new baby im so gutted and take myself off too. Was like a scary person yesterday when AF arrived, poor hubby!

Jools can't comment from experience but am almost certain i will feel the same. The scan is sort of proof that it's actually happening i guess? post a picture when you've had it done wont you?

Ahh it's nice to have the gang back again, te he. in a very weird mood. Hormones? maybe

Oh and how rude of me, i didn't say hello to our newest member. Hey C1ndy, sorry huni was a bit preoccupied. But WELCOME!!! this will either be your haven or an education ! We need to add you to our list! what CD are you on?

WanabeMum · 15/10/2008 20:30

Oh no, i hate hormones. I'm like a rollercoaster! just been watching scrubs on paramount (any fans?) and the nurse, Carla, just announced she was pregnant and the wave of dissapinetment washed over me again. I almost burst into tears on the sofa! How scary are we at this time of the month? Poor partners huh?

WanabeMum · 15/10/2008 20:31

oops that was supposed to be disappointment! he he

Heebychick · 15/10/2008 20:33

yellow yes let it be our month, together with every single lady on this thread so we can close it all with our proud little bumps!?

wanabe what a lovely welcome home, i had been thinking about everyone whilst i was away and it's nice to be back with you all.

I think i might get the CB fertility monitor, i need something to reassure me, with all the BDing i thought i'd got it right but i guess not.

Ok a weird one for you all, i had my AF on Thurs, only lasted 2 days and was gone by Sat. Then nothing for 3 days and today i have just had a brown/dark red mushy kind of leakage (sorry tmi during dinner time!) any ideas? i'm guessing a bit of AF left over? but strange to have a gap? mind you (.)(.) are still tingling so it could be AF still hanging around.

WanabeMum · 15/10/2008 22:08

Have you done a test? sounds silly but you never know! Otherwise it could be AF but very starnge to have a gao i would have thought.

yellowflowers · 15/10/2008 22:37

I say the same as wannabe

smileycat · 16/10/2008 08:23

heeby did you do a test???
I started recording my temp this month to see if I am actually OVing, woke up this morning to take my 3rd day of readings & the bloodly batteries have run out, its going to be hard work trying to find a shop that has a battery to match...bugger might just have to go & buy a new one...bloodly timing. DH is getting excited as I'm pretty much finished AF now & he's looking forward to the next wk or so of BDing says hes in a win win situation as he gets to have lots of regular sex & hopefully we both get a poss result from it, if not he gets to do it all over again the next month...well at least I'm keeping him happy
wanabe know what you mean with the crying thing, there was nothing on the tv last night so we were watching friends on living, the one where Rachel has her baby. I had to hold back the tears & when I looked over DH was struggling (but wouldn't admit it)hormones have a lot to answer for

Jools1 · 16/10/2008 09:03

Yes Heeby - we're all waiting

As for hormones - I started crying at breakfast TV this morning when they were reminiscing about Blue Peter !

C1NDY · 16/10/2008 09:10

Wanabemum - Hi.. I am on CD11 now. I had a mc on 10 October so have waited for AF to come and go.. which was painful as I wanted to try straightaway. I am doing the Deanna plan and am into the first week. Have you heard of this plan is not its at this link... www.pregnancyloss.info/sperm_meets_egg_plan.htm

If anyone has heard of it.. can I have any stories to keep me positive.

Its hard going on the poor DH!

Heebychick · 16/10/2008 10:31

Um no didn't do a test as AF came whilst away so just assumed that was that. I can't be PG surely? not with AF on CD26 as normal and no symptoms? (.)(.) have been hurting around AF for months now so nothing new there. I am sure the 'brown loss' was just old AF that hadn't come out, it was mixed with CM (sorry) so it prop looked more than it was.

I shall see what the scan shows, maybe that will give some answers??

jools tee hee at your hormones, i remember crying over Tom being attacked by jerry on a cartoon my friend had on, she looked at me with a brilliant expression of 'OMG weirdo'!

C1ndy haven't heard of the deanna plan so will have a look, i too (as many of the ladies on this thread) had a MC back in May, it was so upsetting and really threw me. It has taken me a while to get back on track but i am totally and ready for a positive month! (((hugs to you honey)))

Heebychick · 16/10/2008 10:34

ps smiley yes i think my DH is the same, they are happy with the trying huh! seeing as our DD took one attempt he is loving this long drawn out process! i'm not tho!

My friend (the one who had problems a while back and had to go to hospital) had a gorgeous baby boy whilst we were away, i went round on tuesday for a cuddle and stayed for 3 hours feeling extremely broody!!

smileycat · 16/10/2008 11:07

ok this might not be everyones cup of tea, might not even be mine yet, but I was searching the internet last night and I came across something that is quite big in the US. A Plastic Speculum you know the thing they use when they give you a smear to look inside you. Away a lot of women use it to keep an eye on their cervix to monitor its condition & others use it to monitor their cervix position/cm during their cycle ie if its closed or open, high or low & the colour as its usually pink but when you get pg it turns blue/purple & seals itself tight.
I've orderd one as it was only £4.99 I don't know if I'll get the hang of using it yet but thought I would give it a go, I'd love to see what the doc sees when you get your smear & not in a sexual way but I've always been interested in biology it might be interesting to see if I can actually see the changes in my cervix during the month & if it does turn blue after OVing (if pg)
Anyway thought I'd share my idea as its a little different & hopefully will give me something else to take my mind of the 2WW, thats if it arrives by then, post tends to be a little slow sometimes out here

wasabipeanut · 16/10/2008 12:01

Morning girls = um heeby are you sure you won't do a test just to be sure? It does sound a bit odd the your AF was so short.

Speaking of which mine arrived last might as predicted so counting as CD2 today. So wierd it even arrived at the same time of day as it did last month.

wanabe I am just using OPK's this month and if that doesn't work will be shelling out for the fertility monitor next month!

Here we go, here we go, here we go.....

WanabeMum · 16/10/2008 12:14

Hey ladies,

How did the scan go Heeby??

smiley that's very odd but very interesting too! Let me know how it goes.

Wasabi i couldn't get the hang of the OPK's but probably because it involved too much interpretation. the monitor is much easier and involves me thinking less!

Hey C1indy I'll add you to our list later, will all be up to date then.

C1NDY · 16/10/2008 13:24

Heebychick... sorry for your loss in May... it really does suck when you hit the bfp and then get nowt! I am feeling positive, but feel like a little girl who doesn't want to wait but wants the bfp now! I am 39 and will be 40 next year in March, so time is passing me by and I am hoping that it will happen soon.

Someone mentioned this site after my mc and thought I would give it a go and to date it is the best thing I have ever done. The support and the general information sharing has been surburb!

Wanabemum, thanks for adding me to your list (or when you get round to doing it) much appreciated, feel part of this wonderful group! :0)

pinkie08 · 16/10/2008 13:42

Please can i join this thread. I am at the beginning of cycle2 (cd7). Am on clomid as dont ovulate and last months blood tests showed its making me ovulate so hoping that can get that BFP.

Have started acupuncture to help things along and help with clomid effects.

This month feel like its a 3ww (the week when ovulate and then the dreaded 2ww)

Baby dust to all

Jools1 · 16/10/2008 14:05

Hi C1ndy - just thought I'd mention we are similar ages I will be 39 in a few weeks - only started to TTC for the first time this year, joined this thread and got my BFP on cycle 3 I'll be 39.5 years old when this baby is born and am alternately elated, then worried because I may be too old !

smileycat · 16/10/2008 16:11

I've just turned 38 so joining you oldies in the countdown to 40 there will be a 11 year gap between my ds & new one, once the little bean takes hold that is, now wondering why we took so long to make are minds up that we wanted number 2

Heebychick · 16/10/2008 19:13

Evening all, Scan went well and the good news is that everything is back to normal, ovaries looked normal and prime apparently! so that's great (bit annoying as to why we didn't concieve this month but i guess just wrong timing). i'm probably not gonna do a test, AF was quite heavy in stages over the 2 days and it's been like that (altho a little longer) beforehand. It is wierd that the brown stuff came, i've been having a few pains today but i think that was worry about the scan etc.....hmm, do you really think i should do a test?? surely with a fairly heavy bleed i would of lost it anyway? and we haven't done any BDing since AF so it can't be that. i do wonder what it could be tho.

wasabi shame about AF, what a nightmare month we've all had.

smiley c1ndy and jools i'm 34 next June so am feeling that the big 40 is getting closer, my close friend had her DD at 41 and said it was the best thing she ever did!

Hi pinkie welcome to our thread, good luck with this month and yes you are right, it is a 3 week wait! argh!!

c1ndy i was the same as you, after my MC someone mentioned MN and it too was the best thing i had ever done, it has been so reassuring and i think about all you ladies on here every day, my DH says i have calmed down a lot too which is great cos i have you to share everything with.

So a big thank you for being so lovely all of you!

Now lets get BDing girls!

funtimewincies · 16/10/2008 20:09

Internet has been down again, so just catching up.

Really sorry Wanabe to hear about AF arriving. it's just so unfair .

Hi to Pinky and lovely to hear from you Heeby. It's a pain but there do seem to be a ludicrous number of bumpy ladies around at the mo and all my mates are currently dropping their second, exactly 2 years after the first.

Well, tomorrow I'll be officially one week late and it's driving me nuts .

By the way, I'm nearly 34 too .

nelix2000 · 17/10/2008 09:50

hey everyobe just checking in! really good to hear from you heeby we soooo need some more BFPs!.......just BD every three days over the whole month, its bound to happen and give sperm time to regrow and regroup

My little boy has been watching his 7 year old cousin climbin over the back of my sofa and about gave me heart failure when he copied him this morning! luckily he is a very very tall boy and he did it with no bother(except when he made the mistake of going head first . But it made me realise how quickly he is growing up! he is 20 months now and in age 2-3 clothes(almost grown out of)and I got the whole rush of emotions. I have stopped feeling so sick at last......though smells trigger it off and I have losyt 8 pounds so far, not good!

I really hope we see some BFPs soon.....and I have not joined an ante natal thread as I want us all to go together even though babies will be due in different months! how sad am i but you are all fantastic!!!

C1NDY · 17/10/2008 09:58

Jools, Smileycat, Heebychick I have a dd which is 2 1/2, so want to have a bfp by next year. As i had a miscarriage in September, my bosses know at work and we are having a restructuring going on... so I feel I need to get pregnant again to safe guard me. Its a race against time... I wish I was younger, sometimes think my body may not be upto having another because of the mc, natures way of saying enough is enough - maybe . DH and I have decided that if it doesn't happen by April next year we will call it a day! talk about putting pressure on me! I heard the Deanne plan is great, so this is my first month of trying it. Fingers and toes and anything else crossed it works!

ExistentialistCat · 17/10/2008 09:59

Hellohello

Just thought I'd drop in and say hi. I've been following everyone's fortunes - lovely to be able to keep up with you all - but haven't had much to tell myself. I'm on CD 12 today (OV'd on CD12 last cycle according to Fertility Friend) so have been BDing like a mad thing for the last few days!! Fingers crossed.

I don't seem to get ANY fertilce CM in spite of grapefruit juice, evening primrose oil and massive fluid intake, so have been using preseed. DH, to my pleasant surprise, has been v supportive and less mickey-taking than I expected. ALthough he did read the packet instructions and PHSL at this particular gem: "Warning: Preseed is extremely slippery. Clean up any spillages immediately." The mind boggles!

This thread is SUCH a lifeline during this whole insane process!

C1NDY · 17/10/2008 10:05

I am using OPK sticks and the CM check method. The CM methood is a little confusing. Someone mentioned a site, but I am not much good at this technique - tell you all the truth, I never knew the CM method existed until I read it on here! I do enjoy reading about the different methods it makes this journey to getting a bfp a little more fun...

C1NDY · 17/10/2008 10:10

Existentialistcat... where did you buy your preseed, can i buy it from Boots? Not an expert yet on the CM method, should I be drinking grapefruit juice?
