Is it too early for cravings? (5 weeks)

I need salt and vinegar crisps! I can almost taste them and its making my mouth water!!!

GruffaloSoldier · 14/08/2008 17:39

Right, I am off to my holiday house in the country! I will be coming home every couple of days to feed the fish etc so may be able to check MN then.

'see' you all soon!

calsworld · 14/08/2008 18:34

Def not too early for cravings GS - I was craving jacket potatoes at about 5 weeks and couldn't even look at a vegetable! Much better now!

Tink, your poor DD losing weight and you having to give meds, I think becoming a mum is tricky enough without having to cope with extra stuff like poorly DC's.

NJ - I had MRSA in my C-Section scar and DS had it in his eye - not much fun! Handwashing hell in my house for everyone and will be getting an enormous bottle of nhs style alcohol gel for next DC. I know it might seem paranoid but am not going through that again, it was awful. Not when it can be so easily avoided.

NJ, DS self weaned a bit like yours, bit earlier mind but I'd introduced some FF in the day time for when I went to nursery as I couldn't stand the thought of pumping in the office. Re engorgement etc, I was lucky enough to have a visit from the MW who asked me how I was and noticed red marks across my chest, said it looked like the start of engorgement and to have a hot shower (opens the ducts) and gently stroke (not squeeze) my boobs. It took out the excess milk and stopped it from getting blocked up. If she hadn't been there at that time I think it would have become quite bad.

I had a BFC ring me every day for about the first three days (at my request) to make sure I didn't feel 'abandoned' with DS and BFing. She was the one who told me how to make a bra out of an old t-shirt until my milk settled down - I'd been in tears until that point - I was about an L cup at this point!!! Funny in retrospect but a nightmare at the time .

I had a pump before he was born and I recall using it to relieve full boobs when DS stopped feeding at night - got carried away with the pumping though and ended up with bottles and bottles of breast milk that DS couldn't possibly drink - wish I'd known about milk banks - I could have fed a whole ward LOL!!! Will not be quite so exuberant with the pump this time around!!!

I'm soooooooooooooooooooo excited about it all, fingers crossed that its all OK.

I had an email from an old work colleague today - she's pregnant and her EDD is 22nd March! About the same time as me! Its really fab and hope we can spend some time together when we're on maternity leave.

Right, I promise not to mention BF ever again now - unless I can help with anything of course!

SesQal · 14/08/2008 18:37

GYo - I'm with you! When it's my turn, I really want to BF but feel like a complete novice and like I know nothing!
Reading through these posts this afternoon has been a good education!

Am confused by my OPKs. The last two days had v faint lines, so I know I need a second line stronger than the test line ITKWIM.
Today there was not even a v faint line! So are my hormone levels going backwards? On the flip side, CM has moved on from creamy within the last 24 hours! DH away tonight so no GOFing til the weekend so just hope the timimgs will work!

How is it that I'm quite happy to type all this personal info for all you wagoners but there's no way I would tell anyone in RL?!

calsworld · 14/08/2008 18:44

Ses - Cos we're not going to laugh about it when you walk out the office!!

I think you need to keep going with the OPK's, and I might be wrong, but think you can have a couple of mini-surges before actual ovulation which is ovary preparing for ovulation.

Course, I could be talking complete crap - I think Diege / Teuch might be better for this stuff!

SesQal · 14/08/2008 18:56

Thanks Cal! Mini-surges is reassuring and would tie in as I'm on cd12 and would normally ov cd14-16. Am temping and using CM this month for the first time too - it's all rather fascinating!!

lardybump · 14/08/2008 19:39

cals you have pg brain it was my dd who had lost the weight and was put on meds.....

calsworld · 14/08/2008 20:51

Doh Doh Doh

I've forgotten to take my mumomega the last couple of nights! I'll blame that!

Although have had prawns and salmon which may help give a boost . Poor LB and DD...

2beautifulgirls · 14/08/2008 20:51

Evening everyone.

I am very passionate about supporting parents in feeding. I breast fed both DD's. DD1 until about 10 weeks, due to me developing gallstones and being awake most of the night in pain.
DD2 for 4 months, first 2 exculsive second two mixture FF and BF. I wanted to do longer however when she had BM she became very constipated and sick so changed to exculsive FF in the end.
We got married when DD2 was 4 weeks old and i was breast feeding her in the morning until i started drinking the video man caught me feeling my breasts alot as they were so full and uncomfortable!

So i feel like crap Still got a very fuzzy head, been to bed for 2 hours 5 until 7. Feels almost like a migraine, which i never get. Headaches, hurts when i move it too fast and feeling lightheaded/dizzy plus a little sicky!
Did a test before BFN perhaps i am coming down with something.

On a plus side, i had 2 collect a parcel from the post office and it was my kit for the clearblue fertility monitor trial. I now have a new toy to play with when AF starts.

GYo · 14/08/2008 21:00

Hi all

Sorry you are feeling poorly 2BG and for the BFN. Was it an early test?

The fertility kit sounds good though.

How is everyone else this eveining?

2beautifulgirls · 14/08/2008 21:01

18 wks today

SesQal · 14/08/2008 21:07

Evening 2BG, Cal, GYo et al!

2BG - sorry you're not feeling good. Was the fertility kit the one that was on MN last week? I thought it was a pg test they were trialling? I applied but haven't had anything yet. Maybe yours was something else....?
I know it sounds obvious but whenever I get a bad headache, I'm normally dehydrated. Have you tried drinking a couple of large glasses of water?

SesQal · 14/08/2008 21:08

Hi tink! Sorry x-post!
18 weeks!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/08/2008 21:14

just popping on quick... anyone want my leftover OPK's and pg tests??

I can pop them in the post to anyone who wants them no probs... email me at [email protected]

GYo · 14/08/2008 21:15

Hi Tink

18wks- I swear your pregancy is going supersonic!

I am ok thanks. Had a lovely meal out with lovely colleagues at lunchtime. Such nice food. Also feeling a bit low still - definately pregnancy hormones but its really hard to deal with... As Nat says, it will pass so just hanging in there!

Just hope I dont do anything nasty to DH in the mean time.

GYo · 14/08/2008 21:16

OOh hi Ses, hi Glask

2beautifulgirls · 14/08/2008 21:23

Thanks Tink, Hot chocolate, and cuddly teddy is just what i needed haven't been able to get too close to DH for about 5 days now as he has a very sore man throat

Ses- this is the clinical trials for the clearblue fertility monitor, the thinngy that tells you when you are at high peak. Think it costs around £100.00 in the shops. They do it every year i think, applied a while ago and got a phone call 2 weeks ago then kit this week. you have to collect urine samples everyday then send them back to them every 16 days. Lasts for 6 months and if you get pregnant you have to collect urine for a further 90 days. You get £60.00 high street vouchers if complete. Will try and find details for you if interested.

Glask- i would appreciate the tests if AF doesn't arrive and i get another BFN tomorrow.
But if anyone else wants them go ahead. Will mail you tomorrow if thats ok.

Computer us making my headhurt, light from screen hurting my eyes! Think i might just go back to bed

SesQal · 14/08/2008 21:28

Hi GYo - hope you soon get past the low bit.

I had a bit of a moment today (in a different way!)as I found out that a colleague of mine had her baby today. She was exactly 10 weeks ahead of me (with my first pg/mc) so I kind of felt and all at once. DH is away with work tonight so haven't been able to talk to him.

Having said that I'm feeling a bit more positive about ttc this week. Just need some well timed GOFing and lots of luck!!!

SesQal · 14/08/2008 21:30

Glaskham - have emailed you! Can always share them with 2BG (and anyone else??!)

GYo · 14/08/2008 21:32

Hi Ses
Thanks

Re your friend and baby, no wonder that made you feel a bit . Must be hard to hear of it and not think of your own loss.

Hope you can talk to DH soon.

But looking fwd to GOFing sounds like good fun.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/08/2008 21:39

right tests will be shared between 2BG (if no BFP) and sesqal....

glad to be rid!! DH doesn't want me to test any more!!

SesQal · 14/08/2008 21:41

Yay!!! Tests!!!! Thanks Glaskham!
Am getting over excited about testing already and it's only cd12 and haven't ov yet!!!

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 14/08/2008 21:44

I'm off to bed as my eyes are stinging and dropping!!!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/08/2008 07:56

Good morning

2BG sorry about BFN, it by no means over yet though! And I hope you feel better today, migraine's are major PITA, I am 'overdue' one, and I am dreading it creeping up on me!

Ses, LOL at getting excited about testing on CD12, you are as bad as me!!

Tink 18 weeks? Your pregnancy seems to be going faster than mine! Everytime you post x number of weeks I think "you can't be I am only..... oh yeah..... you are" LOL

Anyone got any plans today? So far the sun is out Just hoping it stays that way! Might go into town if it does, if it doesn't I feel a trip to softland coming on Please stay sunny. Please stay sunny. Please stay sunny.
