I give up

Ok, forgive me but i really feel i need to write this down and not feel so alone.

I am on CD 34 no AF, small bleed at CD 24-27 which i think/hope might have been implantation.

But this morning BFN.

Worst thing is i have all the pregnancy symptoms, and they are getting stronger every day.

I feel totally wiped out, very sick, boobs have grown and very sore, have tiny cramps every now and then in tummy, bloated and generally feeling terrible (but in a nice way if i was going to get the BFP)

Seeing as a test should pick up hgc 3-4 days after implantation, i am now well past this and i did a test with a 10mlu so should be very sensitive.

Now i feel at a total loss, the Dr said last time to just wait a few months and maybe it's just hormones.

But the waiting is killing me, all people can say is 'maybe next month' or 'why not wait another week'. But have they ever been in this situation when every hour i feel very 'pregnant' and don't get a BFP i feel like a total failure.

I think i am going to give up trying for number 2. This is too hard.

Heebchick, I too am trying and have been for a while, my friend found out she was pregnant yesterday, she was 2 week over due, and had previously done 2 tests which came up negative, she too thought she was going mad with symptoms, and yesterday the test was positive, and she reckons she is 6-7 weeks pregnant, so there's hope yet. x

Heebychick · 05/08/2008 16:46

Hello ....

eth please don't take this the wrong way but soooooo pleased someone else is feeling the frustration too!!! Poor you tho, when will you test again?

AF was due last Wed and nothing yet, no sign whatsoever. My symptoms are quite strong, esp the sickness, mild 'pinches' in tummy - not pain just wierdness, tightenig almost. I also have strange things going on with (.) (.) and lots of wee's.

Was the spotting heavy or light? i had one day of bleeding on and off then light one off spots for a few days afterwards, could of sworn it was AF coming early on day one but then it went away so quickly that i then doubted it - plus no AF symptoms (back pain etc)

I too have terrible skin (delightful) and feel pretty damn yuk.

Yes having bloods done Friday, going to do my last CB Digi on Thursday then make the appt after that.

bluestar i had wondered if maybe i'm just having new AF symptoms but then where is she???? and if the bleed was AF why do i still have them, like you say it doesn't make sense.

Hmm.

Hey livvi that's very reassuring!! thank you, why oh why can't we be normal eh.

How long have you been trying? what stage are you at in your cycle / wait etc?

OP posts:
eth37 · 05/08/2008 17:22

I know - it is comforting to know other people are going through it as well!! Well, I think I will see if AF rears her ugly head tomorrow and then test again Thurs or Fri...GRRRR!!!

Livvi that's amazing - I wonder why it is that some pregnancies don't show up early? It is madness!

I don't want to burst your bubble, but sometimes it's possible just to miss a period, or to have a very light period.

I had a similar experience about 2.5 years ago. We'd been ttc for a year, and I was expecting too come on and didn't. I waited, and then I did a test which was bfn, and then another test, and the simptoms started, bloating, (after a couple of weeks I even felt like I had a little bump) sore boobs, nausia after eating certain foods, twinges etc. So I went to the gp who said that she was certain I was pregnant, and that she would eat her hat if I wasn't. So I waited and tested again, and again bfn, so I went back and dr ordered a blood test, but it came back from the hospital saying that they don't test for pregnancy and that if dip test is bfn then I am not pregnant.

Gp was on the verge of sending me for an ultrasound when my period came, exactly 28 days to the date I had missed a period.

No pregnancy, no bfp, and the gp was never able to explain why I had missed a period, just that sometimes, these things do happen.

It is of course possible that you have tested too early, but I would try not to beat yourself up over it. If dr is going to do a blood test on Friday then you will get your answer soon enough. And if you are pregnant then it will become apparent before too long and if you'ore not then there may be an innocent reason for the lighg period.

DawnAS · 05/08/2008 17:42

Hey Heebychick,

Sorry to butt in on this thread, but thought I'd just had my two pennies worth!

Your light bleed/spotting sounds exactly like the Implantation Bleed that I had 9 days before AF was due. It turned out that I was PG.

I didn't get the sick feeling as they say that doesn't normally start until 6 weeks at the earliest and lasts until about week 10 (yuck - I've got a phobia about being sick so I'm not looking forward to that...), but definitely got the spotty face and the sore boobs!!

Don't lose faith yet - sounds promising to me....

xxx

Heebychick · 05/08/2008 19:41

Thanks guys, and hi Dawn, i am open to any options and if i'm honest with myself i think i know i'm not PG.... BUT i am concerned as to why i feel so terrible, and having had a DD before i recognise all the symptoms (or maybe i am good at imagining all the symptoms!)

It is totally possible to have missed a period but it still doesn't explain the symptoms really. Still lets just wait and see eh.

How are you feeling dawn? did you have a nice relaxing weekend?

OP posts:
ebeson · 05/08/2008 23:21

Hi Heebychick, your symptoms really do sound like your pg to me, lets hope you are just testing too early, i am also due today cd 34 and tested neg this mornin and yesterday with first response. my boobs are really painfull but i have period pains now so im sure it will get me tomorrow. i did think we had done the deed alittle too late to be honest as i had cm on cd 16 and didnt bd till 2 days after on cd 18, but then my cycle is 30-34 days so if i do come on tomorrow then we would have bd at the right time.

Heebychick · 06/08/2008 08:59

Hi ebb i have my fingers crossed for you that Af stays away, i had some small cramps but they never turned into anything, so hopefully you won't get anything either. do you normally get sore (.)(.) before AF?

Yes i agree my symptoms have done a very good job of convincing me and Dh that i am PG but i really think i am not now, no one can be this late surely? i am potentially on day 41 now .... i think i am actually ill and not PG.

But will see what the blood test shows, good luck to everyone ttc and testing xx

ps - dawn how are you doing hun?

ebeson · 06/08/2008 10:43

Did another test this morning as 1 day late with first wee and....neg! Heeb..i do get pain in my boobs at the sides before af, thats whats making me think im not pg as with my others i had tingling nips not so much pain. Also with other dc the pg test always showed a positive result by now. How long will you have to wait for your blood test results?

ForeverOptimistic · 06/08/2008 10:53

I know how you are feeling!

I am on cd39 and I have tested negative 4 times now.

My AF doesn't seem to be showing any signs of appearing. I have a real heighened sense of smell and for the last week I have a winded feeling in my belly. I don't think I am pregnant but it is really annoying waiting for my AF!

Heebychick · 06/08/2008 10:56

Oh ebs that's a shame, but with no Af it's possible isn't it still? and it still only early. Do you feel like it's AF?

I'm not sure about bloods, if they do what they suggested i'll have one tomorrow or Friday (i'm trying to wangle the test a day early as i'm going out of my mind!) and then one test 2 days later, to see if there is any change in HcG. They are also going to test for other nasty's as well.
I'm quite worried to be honest as i am in alot of pain in my tummy and back now, i look like Mrs O in Victoria Wood's show!

Hi forever, how long is your cycle normally? Heeby at least you should know more soon with the blood test, fingers crossed for you. I dont feel pg but until af strikes you just dont know....thing is we only bd on cd 18 and my cycle is 30-34 days so i really would have thought a test would show by now. I had cm on day 16 so surely i would be 17 dpo.

ForeverOptimistic · 06/08/2008 11:23

It isn't regular unfortunately. The last 3 months it has been 26, 27 and 28 days. I just took another test and it was negative again!

ebeson · 06/08/2008 11:25

so if your on cd39 you are alot over, what test are you using? Its so frustrating isnt it, just need a right answer so at least we can either carry on trying or know for certain.

ForeverOptimistic · 06/08/2008 11:28

Clearblue and Boots own brand.

When I was pregnant with ds I tested negative on cd30 and just assumed I wasn't pregnant and didn't test again until the following month.

These bloody tests they say they are 99.8 accurate but I know from last time around that it is easy to fall into the .2 where they are not!

Heebychick · 06/08/2008 11:51

I totally agree, it is so hard not knowing, you want to know so that you can focus on the next move, rather than this 'what if'

I am actually CD39 too and feeling rubbish.

forever i am feeling very windy and bloated too, very uncomfortable.

Grrr!

ForeverOptimistic · 07/08/2008 08:48

Any news anyone?

I am on day 40 now and still no sign of AF appearing. I think I might try to book an appointment with the GP. I have managed to convince myself that my symptoms are a sign of something sinister like ovarian cancer. I am sure the GP will send me away with a flea in my ear.

ebeson · 07/08/2008 08:53

Hi, cd36 and i think af is about to begin....slight spotting this morning, so looks like im out this month, any news Heeby?

ajm200 · 07/08/2008 09:00

Don't be disheartened by the Clearblue digi result, I've always had problems with those and much prefer the old fashioned line in a box type.

The test I did for this baby was the faintest of lines and I was prompted to test by the other symptoms that I was having.

I had light spotting daily and full periods for the first 5 months

Good luck!

Heebychick · 07/08/2008 09:07

Hi guys, forever if it makes you feel better i have been guilty of thinking exactly that too!!! after all the signs are all there! Silly isn't it! And i have a bad back so that convinced me it was something sinister! tee hee, silly girl i know.

I'm so glad we can admit our silly ways and thoughts on here and not be judged!!

ajm that's bizzare to have full on periods during your PG! you must have been worried!? at what stage did you get a +ve result?

OP posts:
ajm200 · 07/08/2008 09:21

With my son my dates were out by nearly a months so I was about 8 weeks by the time I got a positive.

The CB digitals kept giving errors and negatives but they had just been launched and could be taken apart. Inside was a standard stick test with two lines so I tried another brand and got two proper positives.

With this one I got a very faint line which DH said was wishful thinking at -5 days after getting extremely tired and passing out. Proper positive result later that month.

Heebychick · 07/08/2008 09:56

Crikey, that's really strange! If i was pg i would be about 6 weeks by now, i have lots of very strong symptoms and feel constantly sick, tired, weeing lots and boobs hurting which made me think i was, i'm not sure though.

It's confusing isnt it!

How far gone are you now?

OP posts:
ajm200 · 07/08/2008 10:27

I'm at 30 weeks now.. not too long to go.

Can't wait for it to be over as having a bit of an naff month so far. Been ill with non-pregnancy stuff that's making me feel rough

I really hope you all are preggers if that is what you want. Strange thing is, when you have a positive result, you'll start wondering if it is true until you see your first scan or feel the first kick..

Heebychick · 07/08/2008 10:51

Hi ajm congratulations and fingers crossed for an illness free remaining 10 weeks or so.

I'm guessing this is your first? I have a DD who is 17 months and having her was the most amazing thing, and yes feeling them move really does confirm everything for you, at that point i couldnt then wait to meet her!

Enjoy xx
