Morning all

Cosmo - . I think you can truly begin to get excited now . It shows that all the time we have wasted spent on MN has come to good use! I am sure I would not have managed to get pg straight away if I had not understood how my cycle works.

Cal - So happy you got another BFP. For what its worth when I first tested I used a tesco own brand and an ordinary clear blue. The clear blue came up much quicker than the tesco one, but then reading the instructions I think it said that the clear blue should have come up quicker within 2 mins and the tesco one 3-5 or something like that.

Playingthe9monthwait · 22/07/2008 09:45

Oh Nat, pressed send too quick. meant to wish you good luch with your apt. I am sure you placenta is probably in a different place or something but the midwife should be able to answer your concerns. At least you have the doppler so can hear the heart beat!

Cosmogirl · 22/07/2008 09:57

Thanks for the tips Cals - really helpful. Suppose there's no point worrying about it yet - if it happens I'll have to deal with it. It is just that I have a bit of a phobia of sick...silly thing to be afraid of I know.

Think will either have March 31st edd or 2nd April. Not too sure yet, but more than likely to be early April.

Yes, best of luck today GYo. Will be thinking of you.

glaskham · 22/07/2008 10:00

CALS!!!!!!! OMG- what can i say??? I have just read the last few pages since yesterday with my mouth wide open at your BFP!!! I'm so chuffed for you!!! Saw the pics and like NJ i can see a line on both tests!!!

NJ- hope all goes well at your app!!

DS has his last day of nursery today before the hols- i thought he broke up on friday, but he's there till today... should i get the teacher a present? or is that just for when your 'leaving'?? he goes back in september- and he's made a card for them with 'see you in september' in it.

Cosmogirl · 22/07/2008 10:00

Nat - hope all goes well today.

Playing - yes, I should probably start getting excited. I think I am still a bit in shock though. Never expected it to happen so soon! Feel really lucky that it did but sad for other people who take much longer....just doesn't seem fair somehow!

glaskham · 22/07/2008 10:08

Cosmo- allow yourself to get exited!! You've got a BFP!! No matter how soon it was, and how long it takes other's you've got one!!!! Now if you dont get exited lady i may have to just do it for you!!!

i need to ask something.... i took my temp this morning for the first time and it was 97.29 (isn't that a little high).... and have just got a faint line on an OPK too, now i got a faint line on OPK CD9 last cycle, and also on CD 13 & 14!! Today is CD8... is my body releasing 2 eggs a month? peaking but not ovulating earlier in cycle or what??? I'm puzzled!!!!

calsworld · 22/07/2008 10:09

Hi Glaskham! Thanks! that you can see the lines, they are faint enough in real life but virtually invisible on my laptop, the web-cam isn't the best for taking pictures with but I wanted to demonstrate just how blimin' faint they are. They are definitely pink though, not grey which seems to rule out evaporation and appeared in about 5 minutes. My FMU was very clear this morning so I did wonder if I'd perhaps had quite a lot to drink yesterday which had diluted it. I'll def. be doing another test before the end of the week!

Re presents etc, I think its nice but not essential in the slightest and I think a card is more than enough. My sister is a teacher (reception / yr 1) and she gets loads of cards and def. too much chocolate! I think the cards mean more personally but its up to you.

glaskham · 22/07/2008 10:14

Right well I thought it'd be nice for him to give the teacher a card and take a box of chocs or something for the other nursery staff to share.... but i'll do that next year- was considering making homemade peppermints and/or fudge for them but dont have time to do it today anyway- will just do something special when he leaves nursery next year instead.

lastboxoftampons · 22/07/2008 10:15

Have not read the whole thread to catch up but wanted to respond to Glaskham What kind of OPKs are you using? The presence of a line on an OPK doesn't mean anything - the test is positive if the line is darker than the control line, that indicates a surge in LH. Also, 97.29 is a perfectly normal pre-O temp.

glaskham · 22/07/2008 10:24

right so my temp is fine... the tests are cheapy ebay tests.... the test line is the same colour it always is around OV time...

calsworld · 22/07/2008 10:25

Cosmo! Definitly time to celebrate you numpty!! It doesn't matter if its your first month or your hundred and first - BFP's are amazing and exciting and wonderful and def. to be celebrated! How is your DP/DH?

HappyNewYearFeet06 · 22/07/2008 10:33

Congratualtions to all those with BFP's. I am trying to keep up with it all!

Am not feeling right today, AF due on Sunday. Don't know if not feeling right is linked to any outcome over the weekend??

Juat not feeling 'normal'!!

Cosmogirl · 22/07/2008 10:54

Sorry - suppose I am being a bit silly . DH is really happy but has moments of worrying about things going wrong etc... Maybe if we shared the news with someone else it would seem more real.
I am really happy honestly - see:

HappyNewYearFeet06 · 22/07/2008 10:59

Cosmogirl, it is ok to feel a bit anxious at the same time as being pleased. It just makes you feel all over the place about it all!

Put your feet up and enjoy!

xx

Cosmogirl · 22/07/2008 11:05

Thanks Happy. Finding it soo hard to concentrate on work as well, all I can think of is the fact that I'm pregnant! So distracting!

Playingthe9monthwait · 22/07/2008 11:08

Yeah I think its normal Cosmo. I am still trying very hard to thinking about little taddy as DH has christened my bean (aparently he reckons it looks like a tadpole) as a baby. I know things can go wrong, even when you get to 12 weeks. However, I still don't think that should stop you getting excited, just keep yourself grounded as well. Every week that goes by increases your odds, which if you are honest are actually quite good anyhow. Yes mc is common, but I think because we see so much of it on MN we forget that most pg do work out ok.

Nat and GYo - let us know how your scans went as soon as you get back.

Cosmogirl · 22/07/2008 11:35

Thanks Playing - you are right. It really helps to have found all of you. Think I would have lost it by now if it wasn't for this thread!Off to buy some more bogof FR at lunchtime.

tinkisagracefulshamu · 22/07/2008 11:39

can anyone feel movement yet. sure i felt first movements in bed last night i am 15 wks thursday

Playingthe9monthwait · 22/07/2008 11:52

Tink, NJ did in her previous pg, so it is possible.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 22/07/2008 12:33

What a waste of bloody time?!

Lack of movements got met with "well every pregnancy is different" I fucking know that, thanks for the reassurance....

Breathlessness/dizzy spells: checked iron levels in my notes, they are fine, then they decided I must have low blood pressure, because "dips happen a lot in early pregnancy" (is 16 weeks early pregnancy? ) when I questioned low BP with wouldn't I feel dizzy if I stood up to quickly, "oh yes" she said, "well it must be your blood sugar levels, you mustn't be eating regulary enough" me: "but I'm eating loads to combat sickness" her "no, it must be your sugar levels, make sure you are eating breakfast, lunch and dinner, it will come right"

We were in a different room to last time, last time the room was huge and I had imagined being able to park DS2's buggy at the other end and let DS1 play with him while I spoke to midwife out of DS1's ear shot, but the room was tiny, DS1 could hear all of it, last thing I wanted was him hearing me either listing things that are 'wrong' or listening to me having a go at the MW! So I am no better off than I was this morning. Although having said that my BP wasn't high or low apparently, still have no idea how it all works but I know for a fact my BP was 'different' in previous pregnancies to what it is now.

Hope GYo is getting on OK, is anyone in contact with her outside of MN?

OP posts:
Cosmogirl · 22/07/2008 12:43

Oh, NJ, how pants! Sorry to hear it was a waste of time. Sounds like you knew more than the doctor, which is always annoying. It is their job - they should be the experts!

Not in touch with GYo outside MN. Fingers crossed all is going well for her.

2notenuff · 22/07/2008 12:46

Wow congratultions to all you pregnant people!!!!!!xxxxxxxxx

Hope you are all feeling great and enjoying the lovely sunshine. Tomorrow is supposed to be really hot!

GYo - hope everything is ok, saying a little prayer for you.

x

Cosmogirl · 22/07/2008 12:52

Sorry meant MW not doctor..

tinkisagracefulshamu · 22/07/2008 12:58

what a pain nj sorry to hear that you are no better off

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 22/07/2008 13:01

Maybe I am just a big wuss, and should take comfort in the fact that they weren't worried about any/all of it....

TBH, that doesn't help me though does it?

Knowing it is the same MW who completely missed the PE last time, certainly doesn't help me either!
