Afternoon all. Big hugs and congrats to Triceratops and anyone else newly pregnant that I've missed. to those whose af arrived - better luck next month.
I am feeling much better after a fairly emotional w/e. Definitely not pregnant anymore - big scary bleed on Thursday night - esp scary cos I was at home on my own with dd and there was noone around to call if things had got worse. Poor old dh arrived home at 10 pm (from 3 days in Belfast) to find me in floods of tears on the sofa and he hadn't really understood what was going on! He did bring me a lovely big bunch of flowers but not cos of that! - just cos he'd missed me - bless!!! Anyway, guess we just put it behind us and move on and keep trying. Have started using my Persona now so at least I will have a better idea of my cycle instead of just guessing. Have doc's appointment on Wednesday to get myself checked out (i read taht if you are over 35 and have been ttc for 6m+ then you should go to your GP - I am 38 and we have been ttc for 9 mionths!) but not really sure what to expect - any ideas anyone?

RudyDudy · 14/02/2005 12:30

(((Nikkichick))) big hugs to you honey. I am so sorry to hear your news . Not sure what the doc will say but hope you have a sympathetic and helpful one. Best of luck with everything

Elf1981 · 14/02/2005 22:36

Evening all. Stressful evening - sat waiting for our shopping to be delivered, only to be told an hour after it was due that it wasn't coming and would need to be arranged for tomorrow. Grrr. So another night just sat waiting in the house!

Saw my friend from work today, she brought her 4 month old son in to see us. He's bloody gorgeous. Fell asleep in my arms while I skived off work for a bit... I can get other peoples children to sleep but I bet when its my own, it's another matter!

When is morning sickness supposed to kick in? I'll be six weeks on Wednesday, and only things I am feeling at the moment are:

  • Very sore boobs (feel like my nipples have been run over my a double decker!)
  • Needing to pee every five seconds, coupled with being a lot thirster than usual (though must admit, didn't drink nearly enough before, sometimes managed all day on one tea, and then a glass of juice at home, so making a big effort to drink 10 glasses of liquid a day, which probably explains the peeing!)
  • Slight upset stomach, but I put that down to nerves. I'm petrified that something will go wrong, and when I get nervous, I suffer with an upset tummy, so I think that explains it.

I know it sounds sad, but I think a bout of morning sickness would really reassure me! Am I crazy, or just normal?

Love to you all,

Elf

y r u not v hopeful?

triceratops · 15/02/2005 10:11

Thanks everybody. Elf I can't believe that you want morning sickness. Some people never get it. According to my husband people living out of touch with the modern world have never heard of it and it doesn't affect them at all. Which proves to him that it is all in my mind . Hope that you don't get it, the most important thing is that you have a healthy bean. I know what you mean about wanting to know everything is OK though. I am going to buy myself one of those doppler heart rate monitors that the midwife uses from ebay at 8 weeks so that I can check up when I am feeling paranoid.

Good luck with the testing JM. Stay positive.

Huge congrats to Hester
