Hi! Wondered if I could join? We are currently ttc our second child... this is cycle 4. We had a miscarriage before my successful pregnancy but it took nearly 2 years to conceive him!
Anyway I have become addicted to testing (wasn't really an issue first time round!).
Can't really afford the obsession so thought I had better join.
I have already done 3 early tests (last 1 on tues) and bfn also absolutely no sign of pregnancy.
AF will probably appear in next few days..
Thanks x

Help.....
I think Af is due either today or sat but no sign yet. Had some spotting on monday but nothing since. Negative pregnancy test on tues..
Today by boobs (sorry if tmi) are really sore, I think normally that settles just before my period.
I know I am not pregnant because I have had a pmt migraine and a negative pregnancy test on tues. Why have I still got hope- I am only setting myself up for a huge disappointment...
I could do with some sense being kicked into me!
Thanks

AnAngelWithin · 04/07/2008 12:04

maybe implantation bleed? give it til after the weekend then test if no sign of AF?

i feel all bloated and yucky. had stomach cramps yesterday but nothing has happened yet.

frecklesweetiepie · 04/07/2008 12:09

Hi Angel, I doubt it..... never had one before. When are you due?

AnAngelWithin · 04/07/2008 16:03

no idea freckle. i came of depo injection a couple of months ago so waiting for things to get back to normal really!

ScaryHairy · 04/07/2008 16:28

Hello

Can I join too?

I am currently 5dpo, trying to conceive our second child.

We've been trying for about a year. I did get pregnant a few months ago but it was ectopic. This is our first month ttc since then.

I find it really hard to resist testing - as though I think somehow peeing on a lot of sticks will make the pregnancy gods realise how much I want a baby.

I am having mild cramps which I think is more to do with the number of cakes I have eaten than anything else. And I have tons of EWCM, but those of you who know me from the symptom-spotters thread will know I am olympic-standard at imagining symptoms. I also keep imagining all sorts of twinges where my ep was, but I think that is just paranoia.

Anyway, any help you can give me in staying away from those blasted sticks would be much appreciated.

OracleInaCoracle · 04/07/2008 22:37

oh scary, sorry about your ep. did you have a salpingectomy? i had one last feb, its v scary.

frecklesweetiepie · 05/07/2008 13:58

rubbish!

ScaryHairy · 05/07/2008 20:55

Hi Lissie - I remember your husband posting about what had happened with your ep last year.

Mine was much less frightening. I found out I was pregnant after I had what I thought was my period but still felt pregnant (and my temp was high), so did a test (while posting on MN...). Because I had bled and only felt "half pregnant" I decided to see the Dr who insisted I must have miscarried. I insisted on being seen at the EPAU and so they diagnosed it before I was even 6 weeks along so I could have methotrexate. The bugger of it is that now I am stuck wondering if my right tube is ok, or if it will happen again...

Anyway, the real reason I popped in is to let you know that Boots are doing 2 for 1 on First Response tests atm (of course they are only for use when you are late and not before!), but I am glad of a way to save money. Not that I should be needing tests anyway since I temp, but old habits die hard!!

OracleInaCoracle · 05/07/2008 23:24

ooh thanks scary. did they offer you a HSG to check your tubes?

OP posts:
ScaryHairy · 06/07/2008 09:41

No, I was told "HSGs are for people who have fertility problems and you are clearly fertile." Not terribly helpful.

I did think about paying for it myself, but I know the ep could just be a one-off and that HSGs are not entirely risk-free, so I have decided to wait a few months and see if I conceive first.

If it happens again I think I will push very hard (or go private) for a lap which I understand is the only reliable way to look for scarring. It is quite a bit deal to go for these tests though - I am scared about the thought of having a general anaesthetic (for the lap) and I need to be up and about because I have my 2 year old to look after already.

Have you had an HSG Lissie?

OracleInaCoracle · 06/07/2008 09:46

understandable.

yes, had HSG last year and a hysteroscopy last month, both looked normal though.

OP posts:
ScaryHairy · 06/07/2008 12:37

That's good news - it must be a relief to know that they couldn't find anything wrong.

AnAngelWithin · 08/07/2008 17:07

well i think our plans are going to have to be put on hold. DH faced with redundancy now deep down i still want another baby badly, but I can't with this uncertainty. Wouldn't be fair and I wouldn't enjoy the pregnancy with this all hanging over my head Unless I am already pregnant that is, then I will just go along with it!!

hope you are all well x x

OracleInaCoracle · 08/07/2008 17:22

oh angel. im sorry x

OP posts:
AnAngelWithin · 08/07/2008 17:36

its ok. we will have another one one day. just a matter of when now really. wishing you all, all the luck in the world x x

ScaryHairy · 12/07/2008 20:02

Sorry to hear your news Angel.

Lissie - I wish I had obeyed the thread title, but alas I am a moron.

I have been taking HPTs since about 8dpo (yes, I know) with varyingly light second lines... only to have my line virtually disappear this morning at 12 dpo. So, either a CP or another ep (which I can't rule out until my temp drops).

Somehow I let myself get excited. I thought the universe would not be so cruel as to let me lose two pregnancies within 4 months, not when I don't tend to get pregnant easily, but it seems that I was wrong. Now I get to wait for it to end while feeling hormonal and having sore boobs. If I said I was gutted it would be a severe understatement.

So there you have it; a cautionary tale and the reason why I will never test early again.

CaptainKarvol · 13/07/2008 11:37

Hi, hope no-one minds me coming in and writing this down - I just want to be kept away from the test sticks. I am NOT pregnant. I had a blood test last month which showed no ov, a blood test this month (results not known yet, seeing consultant on Monday morning), a pelvic scan showing a fibroid growing inside my uterus, changing the shape, and with likely drop in fertility because of it. We have been trying for DC#2 for 13 cycles. I am NOT pregnant. But my cycles are 25-31 days (most usually 26) and I'm on day 28, and I feel sick and tired and, yes, pregnant. Just keep me off the testing. There is NO POINT. Aargh. Thank you for listening. Going to do some work now...

CoteDAzur · 13/07/2008 14:52

Hi everyone. I am 9dpo (I think). First attempt at TTC. Somehow totally convinced I am pregnant (unlikely, as we are both 37), and putting off testing until after AF due.

DD was conceived so easily (while not even TTC) that we have no experience of TTCing. I had no idea 2ww was so tough!

CoteDAzur · 13/07/2008 14:53
