went to see cons today, different one- again!

he told me to take asprin (doing)
high dose FA (doing)
cut down on alcohol (doing)

i told him about my spotting. 3 times. finally he agreed to do a hysteroscopy, i have to have more bloods done, but will def be getting heparin the next time i get pg (still no scan til 7w though)

so what lengths would/have to go to while ttc? when do you say "enoughs enough?"

I nearly ended up having a hysterosalpindogram to check my fallopian tubes (I think that's what it was called). That sounded horrible but I was prepared to do it. I didn't end up having it because the stooopid hospital lost the results of the routine chlamydia test I had to have. The doctor was insisting on doing it again, even though it had been negative, and I just refused point blank as it was a very unpleasant experience.

Bloods taken more times than I care to remember - I really am a walking pincushion. Also had an internal scan - not sure if that was a hysterscopy or something else.

I think, for someone who's terrified of all things medical, it was blardy amazing what I went through to ttc. And ironically enough, in the end I got pg naturally. I do think IVF might well have been a step too far for me, but who knows - thank god it never got that far.

Best of luck. What are they checking for with the hysteroscopy? What did the consultant have to say about possible low progesterone levels - is that why you're having more blood taken?

yep jules, its £500. just cant afford it at the mo

twinklemegan, had a HSG last year, wasnt nice but do-able. the hysteroscopy is to check the condition of my uterus. mt 6th mc was vvvv painful for 5w and since then my periods have been very odd (midcycle spotting and heavy/light/painful)

i know. its so frustrating. i went in with reams of questions and research and it was all dismissed. LWH wouldnt prescribe heparin, RSH will. RSH wont do an NK test, LWH will (for a fee)

OP posts:
OracleInaCoracle · 06/06/2008 23:39

the cons at RSH is trying to get that for me at our next appointment, but our PCT wont fund it yet

lol, really dont know whats happening. i do think the problem is uterine though. and possibly linked to the GBS i had when pg with ds. but the 6th mc messed my cycle up a LOT!
