Over 35 and TTC!!

Hi everyone 🩷

I came off my contraception in April.. cycles regulated pretty quickly (26 days) periods regular also. Tried not to let TTC take over my life, but it has!! 😂 lots of googling, symptom spotting and negative tests. I started taking Pregnacare Conception Max this cycle, currently 3 days late and negative tests! Seems a lot of women experienced the same! Wish I’d never taken them now. Fingers crossed period arrives soon.

Thought I would start a thread for anyone wanting to share their journey, advice, stories or even tips…

35 is not old. I got pregnant at almost 35 without trying!

@PurpleSocks37 I’ve actually just turned 40!! Do you know anyone who has got pregnant naturally at 40? 🙏🏽
I’m on cycle 4 currently 6dpo had quite bad cramps yesterday and light pink spotting when i wiped. Today still cramping and a small amount brownish reddish discharge in my knickers! Praying it’s implantation bleeding 🤞🏽 xx

My grandmother had her last child at 46. My sister in law at 40. One of her friends at 42. All of them naturally, I don't think it's easy as when we were 20 but not impossible.

I managed to catch as well. I'll be six weeks tomorrow. I'm EXTREMELY cautious given my two previous losses. I've an appointment in the EPU on Thursday morning for a scan and hopefully, if all is well, starting on progesterone.

Thanks @SureLookpretty good - bit of nausea, sore boobs etc but nothing bad! How about you? Are you on the April WhatsApp chat?

@rainycoldboo similar to you. Sore boobs, tired and low energy and a little bit of nausea which I've never had in any of my other pregnancies. I've actually been following the due in April thread but I'm not going to post until after my scan on Thursday. I just wanna see how that goes first 🙈

Fair enough @SureLook- the WhatsApp group is a great one so do come over if you want! I’m planning an early scan next week at 8+1 as I’m older so want to have the NIPT at 10 weeks and you have to have a scan before you can have the NIPT

Thanks @rainycoldboo all going well I'm gonna book in for an NIPT too. How old are you if you don't mind me asking? I'm 37, I'll be 38 in November.

Hey ladies… currently 8/9dpo don’t have any pregnancy tests… just taken a LH strip and got clear positive!! More positive than when I normally get my peak. What is going on?? I had pink spotting 4 days ago when I wiped still having cramps and feel so tired… I’m confused 😵‍💫 HELP!! I hope it’s not AF rearing her ugly head xx

@HollyBerry85 ooooh! You get a rise in LH right before your period BUT it also can detect HCG when it's present. I'd be going out and buying some pregnancy tests if I were you 😍

Well @HollyBerry85 any update for us?

I had my scan this morning and there's definitely a baby in there this time! Measuring on time, and we saw the little flicker of the heartbeat. I asked about the progesterone, and they prescribed it for me. They said it only helps if bleeding is the cause of losses. It won't help if it's chromosomal or anything like that. I'm still at normal risk of miscarriage like everyone else, so not out of the woods just yet, but it's a bit reassuring, at least!

@SureLookCongratulations!!! How exciting and what a relief!! How many weeks does that put you at now?
I did a test this morning (will upload) I think it’s negative but then I feel like I can see a very faint line! Or not sure if it’s a evap line 🫠 still early though will keep testing. Still having cramps did you at 9dpo? X
