Over 35 and TTC!!

Hi everyone 🩷

I came off my contraception in April.. cycles regulated pretty quickly (26 days) periods regular also. Tried not to let TTC take over my life, but it has!! 😂 lots of googling, symptom spotting and negative tests. I started taking Pregnacare Conception Max this cycle, currently 3 days late and negative tests! Seems a lot of women experienced the same! Wish I’d never taken them now. Fingers crossed period arrives soon.

Thought I would start a thread for anyone wanting to share their journey, advice, stories or even tips…

Much Love 🧡

Hi @HollyBerry85 i'm the same age as you but been ttc a few years now. I had a misscarriage last year. Ive also been taking pregnacare but not regulalry..Sometimes my period is late and i wonder if its cause of it or is it cause now im technically over 35...my cycle is usually 26-28 days, but my last two cycles were over 30 days, which is unusual for me. I would have the odd late cycle but not in a row or so close to each other and if anything im usually a bit early than late.

Apricotmuffino · 01/07/2025 17:17

I am nearly 35, is it OK if I join?

First month trying and just tested at 12dpo and a big fat negative. Im kind of not surprised as I had a particularly stressful last couple of weeks but feel a bit disappointed all the same.

Is this your first op? How long have you been trying for?

I have a crazy 2 year old, and hoping to expand the family!

HollyBerry85 · 01/07/2025 20:11

@carsty So sorry to hear you had a miscarriage keeping everything crossed for you xx I just think it’s strange how it’s since I’ve started the Pregnacare I’m now late this month Confused hopefully AF arrives soon I definitely think I’m out this month.

@Apricotmuffino of course hun!! I’m over 35 I’m 38, so panicking it’s not going to happen for me! I have a boy 14 and girl 8 and wanting to expand the family also. Getting those negative tests are awful try again in a few days it’s still early xx This will be my 3rd cycle of trying… xx

Hello, would love to join!
I’ll be 35 this month so hope I qualify.
TTC 3rd cycle now after losing my first baby at 16 weeks in March this year.

Y taking CoQ10 and NAC this month and am 9dpo today (bfn so far on test this morning) but thing to keep the hope somehow.. so tough not to obsess when you want it so much isn’t it! Xxx

Hi, my doctor advises against reading medical information online. He says that especially now, in the era of AI, we often don’t know who wrote the articles, and every medical situation is unique. Try to stay positive and don’t give up — wishing you the best of luck!

Puzzlemethis · 02/07/2025 20:34

I'd like to join too, be nice to have the virtual company! 35 and TTC number 2. 1st is 3 and we started trying in April. Chemical first month. Fell pregnant 2nd cycle in May but miscarriage at 6 weeks. Pretty certain I've ovulated from CM last week but was on holiday so no idea if BD was just for fun or actually covered the right dates. So anyone's guess if period will turn up or when.
Trying to remind myself stressing won't change an outcome but boy am I working double time to not become obsessed!
Has anyone else been sharing with friends/ family about TTC?

HollyBerry85 · 02/07/2025 20:56

@Ttcaftertfmr Hey hun sorry to hear about your loss that must have been really tough 😔 What’s NAC? Also which brand of CoQ10 are you taking? Do you take folic acid… Got everything crossed for you!! Keep positive xxx

@blacksnow@PuzzlemethisI have become the WORST for scrolling the internet for advice 😂 I think you’re right I need to just keep positive and keep trying. I’m currently 18dpo have a sneaky suspicion AF is coming tonight. The cycle begins again…..
I normally go off CM when I ovulate would you recommend using the LH strips??? Xxx

Thank you! Yeh it was heartbreaking honestly but we move and hopefully have our little rainbow soon 🌈🤞🏻

NAC is an amino acid and it’s supposed to support egg health and ovulation! (No idea if that’s really true haha but I’ll try anything!) got my CoQ10 from a brand called Sunday Naturals (I think they’re german)
I take folic acid in a prenatal vitamin - I’m based in germany so it’s called Kinderwunsch and has folic acid and a ton of other bits!
are you supplementing?
fingers crossed for you!!xxxx

Thank you I will have a look at NAC! I will take anything that will help too haha I’m paranoid I’m getting too old. I was taking a basic folic acid and vitamin D but switched to Pregnacare at the start of this cycle hence me blaming them for delaying cycle this month. Do you use Ovulation strips? Xxx
🤞🏽🌈

Haha yeh I definitely know the feeling!! My husband thinks I’ve gone mad with all the supplements, I do ovulation strips and BBT tracking 🙃😅 he says I’ve turned it into a science experiment haha. If it doesn’t work this cycle (don’t think it has as currrntly 10dpo, bfn and feeling like period is coming!) I’ve said I’ll leave all the tracking and just chill for a month! Xxx

Hello all! I'm 37 (38 in November) with a two and a half year old DD. We've been TTC for #2 since November and have had two losses in that time. Currently still off work recovering from the most recent one.
We plan on starting again after one period. I've been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic (RMC) but can try again in the meantime. If we fall pregnant, the EPU will see me for an early scan at 6/7 weeks and start me on progesterone. Baby dust to everyone ✨️❤️

Puzzlemethis · 03/07/2025 20:52

@HollyBerry85 normally I'm an avid LH tester, just so there's no guess work with OV dates. Used clearblue for a while TTC my first but switched to easy at home purely for cost this time round.
@Ttcaftertfmr @SureLook sorry to hear about your losses, that's tough. Hoping the rest of the journey is much smoother.
Another one on a multivit - currently on procieve but seriously considering adding in a CoQ10.
Those taking it - have you noticed any side effects?

Phone completely freaked out and banned me from Mumsnet for like a month! Finally back now - month 3 of TTC and I’m 9 dpo: tested this morning with an ovum one and a cheapy. I think I can see something on both?? Thoughts (AI thinks there’s a line) (top cheapy is water just to try to work out if I have line eyes)

Over 35 and TTC!!
stilll · 04/08/2025 12:27

I see it! On all three.

rainycoldboo · 04/08/2025 12:47

@stilllthanks - a bit worrying through as the top cheapy is just a test with water….

rainycoldboo · 04/08/2025 12:51

@stilllbetter photos?

stilll · 04/08/2025 12:53

The bottom test is a visible line with colour. The top is a little transparent so an evap. The middle has a hint of colour so I would say positive

rainycoldboo · 04/08/2025 14:41

Thanks for looking @stilll

SureLook · 04/08/2025 19:06

@rainycoldboo I can see a line on the FRER 🤞🏻🤞🏻

HollyBerry85 · 04/08/2025 20:57

@rainycoldboo i see a line too!! 🤞🏽🩷
