Does anyone have experience of this? Hubby has just had it done and we are nervously awaiting the outcome!

One of my friends has just had a baby after her hubbies was reversed and she is over 40.

terrier141 · 10/09/2008 09:40

Thanks glitterfairy - we love a good success story to keep our spirits up!

The baby is gorgeous and her older children are going to spoil her rotten.

welshlinz · 11/09/2008 09:45

hi terrier, not too sure how to do it either. we need pinkmook to help us !!

hows things going with ttc ?? Got to be honest, that letter with DHs analysis was a real wake up call for me and I haven't even been thinking about trying this month at all ! Feel so much better knowing what we're up against and I've developed a better attitude about it all. The chances of us conceiving are very low at this stage so I'm just thinking if it happens it happens rather than expecting to be pregnant at the end of each cycle

terrier141 · 11/09/2008 09:56

linz - you seem to have reached the same conclusion as me with the ttc - if it happens it happens! Tbh convincing myself I was pg every month and them being devasted when I wasnt was having a really bad effect on me! I still do it to a certain extent - but only when af is looming close by do I dare to even think theres a chance!
On FB have a look at the mumsnet-whats your mumsnet name thread.
My dh had 1 days holiday left to use before the end of Sept - so I have got him to book it for next mon when I think I will be due to ov! - Ok so maybe I am still ever so slightly obsessed! But at least I can walk past the baby clothes in Asda without being overcome with emotion now!
Think its cos I got my puppy to baby! Hows yours doing?

Pink - how are you? xx

welshlinz · 11/09/2008 11:07

terrier, puppy is fine. We actually took her to a puppy party last night ( all our friends think we are mad )

The vets host them to get all the puppies together and talk through how to check their nails and stuff. Really good.

Looked on FB but can't find you as I'm not a member of that group. I've opened an email address if you want to send me your name and I should be able to find you off that.

the address is [email protected]

( Don't ask about the name...wanted something unrecognisable lol )

terrier141 · 11/09/2008 11:55

Done!

OP posts:
welshlinz · 11/09/2008 12:46

hi, just added you now x

welshlinz · 11/09/2008 13:15

terrier, you're gorgeous aswell !!
what a cute puppy btw... reminds me a lot of my little one.

It's so nice to put faces to the people I've been telling all my secrets to these last few months. xx

pinkmook · 11/09/2008 18:26

Hi Girls - sorry for the long absence been mega busy.

Wow aren't you two gorgeous! Loving the naughty nurse outfit Linz and Terrier what a beeyoootiful wedding picture!

I am having puppy envy! Wish we could get one but not sure I could do the poo picking up people have to do these days!

I got reiki - ied yesterday (is that even a word?!!) it was so relaxing and really weird how she was able to pick up on stuff she didnt know about me

Glad you are both feeling a bit less worked up abut TTC. I have to admit I reached a plateau a few months ago where I just adjusted to the fact this all could take some time and even that it may never happen

Terrier - you like the Levellers? I LOVED the Levellers when I was a teenager! LOL I hadone of those long sleeved Levelling the Land tops and everything

shm · 13/09/2008 22:59

Do you think anything like reiki etc will help conception? Are there any good treatments?

DH is delivering second sample on Wednesday, so I hope that the numbers will be up from last time (he had reversal May 8 this year).

Of course, the fact that I've not had a period since Christmas 2007 prolly isn't helping!

pinkmook · 14/09/2008 10:34

Hi SHM - I dont know if the reiki will help conception but it was certainly a relaxing way to spend an hour so thats gotta help eh??

Good luck with DH's next sample let us know how you get on (am sure it will be up)

xx

welshlinz · 15/09/2008 09:34

hi all, pink have never had that treatment before. Is it like a massage or something ?

I've been so crap this month with my ttc. Normally I can feel when I'm ovulating but have had no signs at all yet. I figured that because my AF started on the 1st, technically I would be ovulating about now

Just feel soooo tired at the mo that the thought of BD is way too much energy !!! but needs must

pinkmook · 15/09/2008 16:10

welshlinz - I know what you mean - it gets hard work when you are tired!! Lie back and think of Wales

I have cut and pasted what reiki is:

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

A bit new agey I know but wierdly felt like it worked and she told me I had a "blockage" in my throat area which she said meant I was holding back from saying something important - I am guessing this is to do with work as I cant say how I really feel about all the stuff thats happened because of all the back stabbing and stuff!

She also said I have the most energy in my legs she has ever expereinced!! All through the reiki I felt like I could run a marathon, really energised, so its weird she picked up on that!

Linz - did you get your letter with the percentages etc in yet from DH's sperm tests?

welshlinz · 15/09/2008 20:54

no, we've not had the copy of the letter yet. The only one we've had is the amount of sperm present. Decided the consultant is a waste of time now he's had his fee !! We've decided to wait until the end of Nov and go and see the GP for another sperm analysis as I think it will hopefully be a lot higher. In the meantime DH is going to be taking supplements etc so fingers crossed the next test is better

Have you heard of a supplement called semenax which is meant to significantly increase the production of sperm for men with low fertility ?? Just wondered if it is actually worth investing in ?

terrier141 · 16/09/2008 14:29

Hi girls - havent been able to check on you for a while as my internet has been playing up - still hit and miss now!

Linz and pink - how lovely that we can now "know" who we all are - seems a bit less weird now somehow! You are both very attractive ladies i must add! Imagine what beautiful babies you will have!
pink - yes I absolutley LOVE The Levellers - last time I saw them was May 2007 and would love to go again - they have all aged a lot but still very sexy!! Music doesnt seem to have aged at all though! Very weird when you see all the "new age/traveller" type fans and think "I used to look like that" - was quite disappointed with myself actually - not usually ine to conform!

Well girls I have been VERY busy bd'ing - i think you will be suitably impressed when I tell you that we managed it TWICE yesterday, which was hopefully OV day!!
We also managed it Sat and Sunday and Im gonna try and stay awake long enough to try again tonight (just one last try - for luck!)
Am like you Linz at the moment - very very tired and just dont know why - its getting on my nerves!

Well here goes for my 2ww - hope you are all well xx

OP posts:
pinkmook · 16/09/2008 18:53

Hey ladies - yes its fab to put faces (and real names!) to mumsnet!

Linz - Haven't heard of semenax but am intrigued and off to google it now! Sounds ace!

Terrier - I have never seen them live but yeah I remember all the new age traveller looking types from when I was frequenting my local Indie night spots! They are ace and I will now have to dig out my old music! I knwo what you mean, I was never one to conform when I was a young un! Amazing how we all slowly slip into it! But I have kept a bit of non-conforming by my secret (well actually not that secret!) love of The libertines and Pete Doherty

My My Ms Terrier I am V impressed with your BD record this month and wish you huge amounts of luck for a BFP!

XX

welshlinz · 16/09/2008 21:24

well done terrier...keep up the good work x
pink, have you had a look at those tablets yet ? Think I'm going to invest in some for DH. Got to be worth a go I reckon

pinkmook · 17/09/2008 18:09

Hi Linz - have looked at them yea might buy them next payday - let me know how you get on x

welshlinz · 21/09/2008 19:04

hi girls, gosh this threads been quiet these last few days so thought I'd write a little update.
Well, now on CD 21 so am guessing 7dpo. Been really good so far this month but must admit I'm getting a bit anxious for AF to arrive now in this last week.
Bought some ebay cheapie tests that arrived yesterday so am going to try and hold out but isn't the temptation so much worse when you have them in the house ? Thinking maybe it wasn't such a great idea lol

pinkmook · 21/09/2008 19:40

Hi Linz - I know we have been awfully quiet haven't we?! I am CD13 but no real signs of approaching OV no EWCM or anything not sure whats going on.

I wonder if Terriers PC is still playing up and thats why she's not been on?

Any way did you order any of those vitamins?

welshlinz · 22/09/2008 09:59

no we've not ordered them yet pink, but am going to soon.

Terrier....where are you ??

Going back to what you said earlier pink, about no CM etc.. I felt the same this month. I usually can tell when I'm ovulating through that and a pain on whichever side I'm producing the egg from but had nothing at all. I'm wondering if it was because I was so pre-occupied with other stuff that I just didn't notice

Anyway, will find out soon enough. AF is due on either 27th or 28th so not long now x

welshlinz · 25/09/2008 10:12

ok...where have you both gone ?

Feeling very lonely on this thread now lol

pinkmook · 25/09/2008 13:44

Hi Linz! Sorry! I keep checking back but nothing new to report so not posted in a while. I am guessing terriers PC is broken. Hows things with you? I have been really busy, my friend and next door neighbour has had a major stroke (on monday - she's only in her early 40's too) so have been trying to help her out (her DS is at my DS's school)
