Hi All,

Minxi, I am still grinning at your great news.

We are going camping this weekend (Anything to stay away from the internet, so I can stop freaking myself out with horror stories & nasty statistics!!) I hope the weather holds.

Anyone else got any plans? Anything interesting going on?

lou031205 · 11/07/2008 09:45

Well, I have just read all 14 pages - this thread is so exciting!! Congratulations to minxi.

I do have a couple of questions:

  • We are TTC #3, but my cycles have not yet returned (DD2 is almost 11 months, but still BF). I have recently night-weaned, so she feeds about 4-5 times a day. Is there any point in temping, in the hope of catching the first egg, or should I wait (until when?) for my first AF?

-Is there a particular BBT thermometer that is best?

Thank you in advance!

Hooray for Minxi!!!! I'm doing a little dance over here!!!!! So pleased for you! Have you told your DP yet!?!??!

And Hello sorky How are you feeling?

lottie so sorry you're back at CD1 Have a great time this weekend - I hope it takes your mind off of TTC. {{hugs}} for you.

Hi Lou Welcome to our little thread! Don't know anything about temping and BFing, sorry! But as for a thermometer - I just use a BBT that I bought in Boots. I think most of us use similar.

So weirdish high temp for me today - my pre-O temps are never that high. In fact, I overlaid with all my cycles and the only time it was that high, other than when I was drinking the night before, was my second cycle off BCP. So maybe this Agnus Castus stuff is doing something already... Not sure what exactly it is doing, but something...!

Yarnie · 11/07/2008 11:12

Lottie Sorry you're back on CD1, that sucks Fingers crossed for your new, sparkly cycle.

LBOT Glad to hear the AC might be having some effect. I don't actually know what it is meant to do

Welcome Lou! I don't know anything about BF and temping, so I can't advise on that. I don't think it really matters what BBT thermometer you get. Ideally it should measure to 2 decimal places, but that's about it.

Minxi got a BFP! Minxi got a BFP! [does a little dance]

I'm off to a costume shop in a bit to hire out some sort of fairy tale costume for a party we're going to tomorrow. I hate costume parties(!)

[Waves to anyone reading]

Hi everyone:

I might've made a mistake updating the list, so please make sure your's is accurate!

Nothing to report here really. My temps seem to be a bit higher than they normally are lately pre-O, hopefully it means the agnus castus is sorting my hormones out!

herbgarden · 13/07/2008 20:03

Just popped on here for a lurk and another BFP !! Hurray - congratulations minxi what lovely goose bumpey news - I've gone all soppy in my hormonal state !

NSNA Sorry to hear about your scare - fingers crossed for next week.

As for me....feeling crappy - nauseous and tired but it's all in a good cause so can't complain. Have my nuchal scan 2 weeks wed and I can't believe that has come round so fast....

Bye for now ladies and take care all of you.

cece · 13/07/2008 23:57

hello all of you temping experts.

Can I ask a question?

I am fairly new to temping but now three cycles in I am noticing a pattern of a temp rise on CD 8. I have had 2 OV on day 16 and one on day 20. Cycles can vary from 26 to 36 days. Any ideas if this is normal or not? Also my temp doesn't drop till about the second day of my AF, shouldn't it drop before AF starts?

Thanks

minxi · 14/07/2008 07:09

Yarnie and all feeling fine, keep getting up early to temp still - this morning was 36.9, keep having to pinch myself this is real!
The only thing I did differently the last three months was accupuncture - after the first months my cycyles were averagely a lp of 12/13 no spotting (which I had) and I ovulated on cd16 last 3 months.
Feeling fab but only 4+4 so really early days... but hey ho
Lottie how did you get on with your ivf fayre on Saturday ?

Catch up later x

Yarnie · 14/07/2008 07:28

Interested to hear how you got on at the fayre, Lottie Cece do you use Fertility Friend, or similar? If so, perhaps you could post a link to your chart.

Hi All - so much for my higher temps! although I had taken the duvet off the bed last night and woke up freezing this morning, so that might ahve something to do with it!

Minxi are you STILL temping! You're going to drive yourself mad!

Cece I agree with Yarnie, if you could post your chart, we can all take a look!

I'm feeling a bit deflated the past couple of days - We know four couples at the moment (two of which are our brothers and their wives, and one of which is a couple we're very close to) who are expecting unplanned babies, and I'm feeling a bit 'why not us?' I'm really trying not to and keep it all in perspective, but it's really difficult when everyone around you is having a baby.

Hi all,

I am back from a lovely weekend camping (not as lovely as yours sounds lottie how exciting! I love Amsterdam...

LBOT I know what you mean about being surrounded by pregnancy and other people's beautifully bulging Bellies. It does drive me mad also, when people offertheir pearls of wisdom and it includes: 'You just need to relax'

er....Ok...then...

I am doing OK - still PETRIFIED by this whole Melanoma thing and absolutely terrified by getting the test results tomorrow (Although I know that I need to get the results to know what we are dealing with.)

My temps are still really high, which should indicate that I o'd a few days early - but I still seem to be having some EWCM...so not really sure what is happening.

Lottie Glad you had a nice trip, you so deserved it!

NSNA Fingers crossed for good results.

The couple that we're good friends with had a nightmare TTC #1. 2 years, 3 miscarriages, finally IVF, etc. Their baby is now 18 months and they were figuring it would take a long time, so they thought they should start trying for #2, and they were PG before they knew it! Ordinarily, I would be so excited for them - I mean, for it to go off without a hitch this time after so much heartache the first time around is just brilliant! But it's them - I can understand being shocked, but on Friday night she actually said to us 'DS is at such a fun stage right now, the thought of going back to having a newborn is horrific' I dont' know, I just wish they were a little more grateful! This is also coming from a woman who keeps telling us that we should start trying now because you never know how long it might take - she's also convinced that it's DH's fault that we don't have a baby because 'he's not ready yet' Needless to say, she doesnt' know we're trying or about our miscarriage. You'd think that someone who had been through as much as her might be a little more sensitive about the whole TTC thing when it comes to others! sorry for the rant!

What time is your appointment tomorrow NSNA? LBOT and Lottie, I feel for you both. TTC is very challenging when it doesn't happen "just like that" and other people's insensitivity doesn't make it any easier.

I've had a spate of people asking when we're going to have a baby and even though we haven't been trying very long, I do wish they wouldn't ask. I feel it's a private decision and process and if I wanted to discuss the whys and wherefores with people I would ask for their input.

I can imagine getting quite upset if someone started banging on about it as your friends have done. I haven't told anyone yet, but I expect I will tell a few people in due course (probably when I got bored of making excuses as to why I am limiting my alcohol intake!).

Taking into account what I've read on MN and my own disappointment after only two cycles, I plan to steer clear of the subject entirely with my friends, unless any of them take me into their confidence and want my support.
