Doc reckons IUI won't work because the troops are not enough and not great mobility either. However as we have a child, clearly something works!! Basically it seemed that once you consider private options, you are really looking at buying a service, so they want to go for the best value for money. IUI is only 10% where as IVF is more like 40%.

We are retesting DH to see if quality has improved since vitamin regime of last 6 months.
I think we both feel IUI is less invasive and more natural so would like to at least give it a shot.

Morning all. Got to get ready for a trip out of London today, so no news from me right now. I'll stop by later today.

BUT MM - Cautiously optimistic for you!

Hi guys - hope you're all well. MM so exciting! Fingers crossed for you!

So my temp is up today, but not up lots. So still in the dark about when I/am going to ov. I swear I've not been this weird about it in previous cycles! I'm home sick today - I had a dentist appointment in the morning and then had to go for an interview for my British passport. When I got back from my interview, there was an envelope full of CB digi opks with my name on it! My SIL had offered them to me ages ago, but I had said no. The other day I told DH to ask his brother for them afterall - but BIL and SIL were on holiday, so I bought my own in the meantime (without telling DH of course! ) So now I have an extra reader if anyone wants it. Let me know - I'm happy to post it.

Also, question for you tempers - if you do it orally, do you clean your thermometer every day? I usually don't bother, even though I know I should - but I'm beginning to wonder if it would have any bearing on it's reading abilities?

herbgarden · 26/06/2008 20:07

Hello all - just lurking to see how you all are....Miss M - I had v.faint lines which got stronger as the days passed (squint and you'd have missed it first off) and then just went for the CB digital when I was faaaairly sure.....Fingers crossed for you....

Hope the rest of you are ok... !
Herby

Missmodular · 26/06/2008 20:45

Hi everyone! No temp from me today - I completely forgot to do it until after I'd had breakfast

Thanks for all of your good wishes folks - Herby good to hear from you (hope all's well?) - I HAVEN'T actually POAS today - not really due to any heroic resolve - I'm just too stingy to keep buying the things, so I want to give the last one I have the best shot at being a big fat line rather than a faint skinny one. So will let you know how it goes tomorrow!

LBOT it never even occurred to me to wash my thermometer I am a slattern Probably a good thing I don't Hoo-Har temp

Nappy I think I'd do the same in your shoes - like you say, you've conceived before (I'm assuming without IVF) so IUI must be worth a go if possible. Fingers crossed for your DH's results.

Yarnie did you go anywhere nice today?

Wave to everyone else!

Yarnie · 27/06/2008 08:57

Morning all!

So, MM. You were POAS today, no? Any definitive BFPs to report?

I just went to my home town yesterday to visit some reles - nothing exciting.

LBOT I'm a slattern too. I've never washed my thermometer(!) I might do now you've drawn my attention to it!

DF and I are getting plenty of BD in. A bit early for ov, but while we have the enthusiasm and energy we may as well - just in case. All good fun! TTC has been good for us in this respect.

Hello to everyone else Any news?

Hi Herby - hope you're well!
Nappy - fingers crossed that your DH's little guys are getting better!

Hmmm...don't think my temps have anything to do with my thermometer being clean or not. Still pretty low this morning, but FF gave me an O date of CD17, that seems right according to temps and CM, but not according to the OPKs! Weird!

Lottie I tried, but it keeps the hash marks where they are. Interesting. I know you're supposed to stop using OPKs once you get a positive, but I've got another one for today - so I guess we'll see what happens. I'm just more concerned that overall my temps are so low.

I read somewhere that frequent sex throughout your cycle helps to regulate it. We don't manage to be that consistent, either, Lottie. But well done Yarnie on that front!

Missmodular · 27/06/2008 10:18

Aargh - test stick didn't work! And then mumsnet down . Am off to buy another one - will check in later. Temp up to 36.9 today though

lastboxoftampons · 27/06/2008 12:16

Hello all,

but most importantly - UPDATE PLEASE MM!!!

lastboxoftampons · 27/06/2008 14:42

checking to see where MissModular is!

Also, my doctor just called me. She said she had been thinking about our conversation last week and has been doing some reading about irregular cycles after MC. She didn't find anything conclusive, but said that I could come in for a progesterone test early next week since I'm ov'ing about now. So, I'm impressed with her follow-up - I guess we'll see what happens...

Missmodular · 27/06/2008 14:43

Hi ladies,

Sorry to keep up the suspense! I have DD with me today and this is the first time I've been able to sit at a computer.

So...

BFP!! Yay!

I haven't quite grasped the concept yet so would like to stay on this thread for a while longer if that's okay? (wafting lots of babydust towards you all )

That's FANTASTIC, MM!! So, so pleased for you You must stay - BFP mascots are needed to remind us it can happen (especially never-been-pgs like me).

LBOT. Very impressed with your doc. It's nice to think they give a passing thought when you leave and it's not 'out of sight, out of mind'.

lastboxoftampons · 27/06/2008 15:17

Yay MM!!!!! Woo Hoo! Congratulations! I hope you'll stay on and help us to get our BFPs too! Tell us your secret!

herbgarden · 27/06/2008 19:57

Ah.....MM - how exciting !!!....Really pleased for you !...Congratulations .

You'll be a March due date won't you so crossed fingers, a spring baby.

I'm now 7 + 2 and have been feeling grotty for a week or so now - nausea like I didn't have with DS - I've booked an early scan (8 weeks) privately as I just don't think I want to wait until 12 weeks to get the good or bad news. Not to sound like a complete pessimist but a lot of m/c's come around 6 - 8 weeks so I think I'd just rather know now if it's not viable...

Anyway, glad to see the rest of you are all on here supporting each other. I found this thread a great comfort and nice to go through it all with everyone else.

Bye for now ladies but I'll be popping back !

Herby

Did have to chuckle last night, as DH has SA test on monday, he needed "favours" from me for a change. tee hee.

LBOT v impressed with doc follow up. progesterone test will be helpful to tell a) if you are ovulating and b) if those levels are high enough to conceive. Should be over 30 btw.

Right off to bed happy in the knowledge that temping thread graduates another. :0)

Missmodular · 28/06/2008 09:16

Morning all,

Thanks for all your kind words everyone, they mean a lot Still on a high after my BFP but a little sad at the same time because I've fallen out with my parents and haven't been able to tell them yet

LBOT I'm seriously impressed with your doctor!! Hope your test throws some light on what's happening with your OPK surges vs temps. If any lesson has been learned by me this month it's that GOFing even after you think you've ovulated is a good thing - if I hadn't done that this month I wouldn't be pg now.

Herby I can understand why you're going for an 8 week scan. Early pregnancy is such a nervous time isn't it. Have you told many people yet or are you going to wait for the scan? Let us know how it goes.

Nappy hope all goes well for your DH on Monday!

Hope Lottie's having fun!

Have a great weekend, everyone else!

Morning everyone! FF still has my Ov at CD17, but I think it's more likely CD18 as per usual.

So here's a question probably for Sorky if she's lurking - This morning I took my temp orally and then thought ah, what the hell, let's see what it looks like if I do it 'the other way' So I did and my temp was around 36.78!!! I figured it would be higher, but is it supposed to be THAT much higher?!!? Anyway, thinking about switching over for next month, as the hoo-har temp seems much more in a 'normal' range, which makes me think I'm a total open mouth sleeper

Herby Please try to relax - remember that every pregnancy is different and in general nausea is a good sign! {{hugs}}

Nappy hope you're DH got what he needed

Yarnie · 28/06/2008 09:46

Just a quick one for me as I have mammoth cooking and cleaning to do for the 40 odd people we have coming tomorrow(!)

LBOT I'll be interested to hear how your hoo-har temping goes and how it affects the pattern of your temps. I definitely sleep with my mouth open, but my temps have never struck me as low.

Nappy I'm sure your scan will put your mind at rest so you can just get on a enjoy the rest of your pg.

MM Sad to hear you've fallen out with your parents. I hope bridges are built quickly, so you can get support from them too.

All for now. Hope everyone else is feeling chipper
