Hi everyone, I'm on CD 7 (I think.. last month was a very weird cycle for me) and going to start ovulation testing with the easy @ home strips and use the app they have.

I've used the clear blue smiley face tests the past 3 cycles but wanted to try something different this month.. but I'm worried I'm going to read them wrong as the clear blue ones were very straightforward!

If anyone has used these strips, what time of day did you test? I've read not to use the FMU so plan to test at 6pm (due to work) until I get a line and then try and test at 12pm too..

And did you not drink/wee for 2 hours before doing the test? With clear blue I left it 4 hours but struggled!

Would be great to chat to anyone who's also hoping this will be the month🤞🏼

I don’t know if i’m forcing myself to play it down so i’m not disappointed, get my hopes up or i genuinely feel this way because there is nothing there but i feel flat & like i’m empty or something “there’s nothing there this month don’t waste your time, it didn’t work”. I know we gave it the best shot that we could i’m not down about that but i dunno i feel….yea an empty feeling 🤷🏼‍♀️. Probably just my anxiety kicking in telling me i’d never be lucky enough. We’re all not out until we’re properly out. Wishing this wee group so much luck 🪄 there’s enough to go round x

@PoppyGirl222 i definitely feel that way too, like I can’t be disappointed if I don’t get my hopes up, I think that is why I don’t test unless I miss my period. But then on the odd occasion I allow myself to get caught up in all the symptoms checking, it’s so hard mentally!

That’s exactly it. Im telling myself i don't care either outcome but i actually do and want it so so much. I’d love the willpower like you to wait until my period comes/doesn’t come. I’m gonna try really hard to wait. How are you doing?

Well I’m glad it’s not just me 😆 I even took a test this morning because I’m still LH testing and it looked like it was on its way back up last night so I panicked…. I mean it isn’t a high or peak reading, but deffo wasn’t low. Google tells me it can do that randomly, when your period is coming, or when you’re implanting …. So who knows !!! Obviously the pregnancy test was negative … I’m only 4 dpo today.

I am also telling myself ‘we didn’t do it loads this month so it won’t happen, and that’s fine etc etc’ 🙄 the lies we tell ourselves 🤣

I don’t really have any symptoms but I’ve had awful sinusitis- I’m on antibiotics and feel so rough. Not sure I’d have noticed symptoms as I feel so poorly!

I didn’t know the LH levels go up again like that. This was my first month testing so i only started after my last period and then once i hit the peak I only tested a couple more times and it had gone way back down to practically non existent so i knew i’d ovulated. I’ll do mine in the morning (not that it’ll give me any insight because i’ll not know what it means lol could be period as it’s due on the 14th 🤷🏼‍♀️). I had a cold thing going on i sneezed for three days non stop and nose was running like a tap but clear no infection just like water, so weird. But i would get a funny nose midway so that’ll be an ovulation thing probably. I hope you feel better soon, it’s awful being ill like that 🤧. You never know, it only takes one swimmer after all. You could be bang on and only did it once or twice and i was at it for five days and i could be unlucky. Luck of the draw i guess. It’s funny how we can be positive for other people yet we’re so hard on ourselves. x

We’re all on the same page that’s for sure! I do it with most situations in life ‘Catastrophizing’ it before it’s even happened so I’m not disappointed with the outcome. Hate doing it, I try being more positive.
Try keep with the positive thoughts ladies! We all DTD in the fertile window so there’s every chance it could have happened! And this time next week we should know for sure or not 🥰 and if not on to the next month! I know it’s easier said than done,

i’m 100% not testing till Friday unless my period has arrived. I can’t deal with the disappointment on a test and I’m off on the 14th so either way I don’t have to deal with work whatever the result! 😂 I’ve tested early before and just messes with my head.

@TTCRach im exactly the same on antibiotics with a throat infection, my temp is through the roof so no symptoms for me either.

Well now im really confused, been doing my temp every morning & now natural cycles has changed my ovulation date to sunday..4 days after my peak..which I think is probably very unlikely. I've had quite a big temp spike today so think that might have confused things.

@TTCRach i did the LH test this morning & it has gone up but its minuscule. The pregnancy test was as we would all predict complete white. I’m 8dpo today. I had this weird creamy pink blob of mucus in the middle of the night when i peed (sorry tmi) but that could be my body gearing up for my period coming. I’m not taking another test until next week. Only took these out of curiosity because i didn’t know the LH goes up again. You learn something everyday, the geek in me lives for this kinda information 🤷🏼‍♀️😂. Hope everyone is well 💛

@LuckyDuck93 that’s really strange? I can’t imagine ovulation 4 days after peak feels a lot doesn’t it. Did you sleep differently last night I wonder if your temp today isn’t right. But I mean temp spike is good news though isn’t it!

I haven’t been taking my temperature so no idea if mines still high or not. With me being ill I thought it’s pointless and I’ve been up and down every other hour at night.
hoping I feel better by next week to start temping again to see if I can predict is period will arrive or not.

@PoppyGirl222 I wonder if that implantation? I mean it sounds promising! I’ve read there’s always some LH hormone in our system at all points of our cycle so it should show at any point. I think you can get 2 peaks as well. So a false one first of all then the 2nd. That’s another reason I BBT so that confirms the temp increase as well.

That was such a good article thank you, i’m keeping that tab open for next month (i love information lol). Isn’t it weird how we count ourselves out before it’s even happened 🙄. I think i’m a gradual riser with a quick’ish peak. It definitely came down after the peak because i kept testing for a few days. My upload photo button has disappeared so i can’t upload anything which is strange. I’m on safari not the app. I’m gonna look into bbt but from what i’ve read i’ll be rubbish at it. I hope you’re feeling at least a little bit better 💛. It’s weird we all have colds to some degree.

@Mama09876 I must admit I have wondered whether to just stop taking my temp after ovulation is confirmed, it's another thing to worry about isn't it, definitely not convinced it was on Sunday, think the app must be having an off day!

I have cramps, like little electric shocks and when i wiped at the bathroom there now it was ever so slightly pink but with a couple of red flecks throughout like pen dot… so small but there all the same. I think i’m out more than likely. I’m 8dpo today and cd19, period due next Friday (14th) so my period must be getting ready for a comeback 🤷🏼‍♀️ cycle is 26/27 days all the time. There’s always next month. Wee but down but hey only trying since December. I really hope there’s some good new somewhere in this wee group 💛🤞🏼. Going to put some tan on and paint my nails to cheer me up hahaha it works wonders

@PoppyGirl222 well…. A stuffy nose and congestion can be a sign of implantation, due to hormonal changes (or as google tells me 😆) but I’m so unwell that I don’t think mine is linked xx

@PoppyGirl222 this is my second cycle this time round … and I totally got ovulation wrong last month but I didn’t realise and tested everyday from 7DPO 😆😆
I’ll probably do the same - I’ll be 7DPO on Saturday. I found out I was pregnant at 8dpo with my daughter, but appreciate that’s really early.

oh nooo @Babydust99 we love a line eye test! How are we all going to be scrutinising tests if we can’t upload photos!!!!

@PoppyGirl222 i don’t think you’re out yet! Do you normally get spotting before your period? The timings would suggest it could be implantation? My friend had implantation bleeding the week before af! 🤞🏻

No it usually just comes when it comes boom like “I have arrived to ruin your plans 💥” lol. There’s always a couple of days where you feel like rubbish and bloated but no bleeding from one period to the next. You reckon then it might still be ok yea? How are you?
