Hi everyone, I'm on CD 7 (I think.. last month was a very weird cycle for me) and going to start ovulation testing with the easy @ home strips and use the app they have.

I've used the clear blue smiley face tests the past 3 cycles but wanted to try something different this month.. but I'm worried I'm going to read them wrong as the clear blue ones were very straightforward!

If anyone has used these strips, what time of day did you test? I've read not to use the FMU so plan to test at 6pm (due to work) until I get a line and then try and test at 12pm too..

And did you not drink/wee for 2 hours before doing the test? With clear blue I left it 4 hours but struggled!

Would be great to chat to anyone who's also hoping this will be the month🤞🏼

@PoppyGirl222 yeah the strips have never worked for me before so I’m hoping it counts for something!

If it isn’t any heavier, the pink and brown wiping can be a good sign I think? Fingers crossed for you 🤞 I have read so many different stories/posts that I’ve concluded any symptom can be a positive or negative one at this point 🤦‍♀️ It would drive you nuts lol.

It’s gone completely, only lasted till lunchtime yesterday so few hours but i’m sure it’ll come back at some point to mess with me 🙄. It’s really stressful especially when you’re trying so hard to force yourself to not play the tww games lol. It’s like it forces you to play. I don’t hold out much hope tbh, i’m one of these people who always thinks “i’d never be lucky enough” I know that’s not the right attitude and you should be positive but i’m always cautious & a wee bit negative towards myself. If only we could be as kind to ourselves as we are to other people.

@PoppyGirl222 that’s really so strange? I wanna say I wonder if it’s implantation? But feels to early if you’re only 4dpo unless maybe ovulated earlier? & you’ve never had it before? Wonder if something has just aggravated it?

im feeling all fine, nothing to report I’ve been really busy to be honest so not really paid any attention to myself 😂 I’ve not been BBT since last week so I need to get back in a routine with that this week. I’d say I’m 4dpo today.

@Mama09876 it’s really strange, aww who knows. It’s stopped now. The app says 4dpo because of the peak so it’s bound to be right surely? Period’s due on the 14th so whatever will be will be. I have the worst runny nose still lol so it’s distracting me. We’re literally at the same stage

I also have a nasty cold and have been full of snot all week 😷. Which is why we only managed to go twice in the fertile window. Hoping we managed to catch ovulation.
Are you still using LH tests? I have and can see they are low now so guessing I did have my peak. I ovulated late last month and missed it (wasn’t using strips but had EWCM and pain) … so I’m thinking it’s no harm to continue to LH test. Xx

No i’m not testing anymore, it was really low so i took it that the peak was done and dusted for this month. I’ll start testing again the day after my period goes (if it comes). Hopefully there’s some good news this month for this group 🤞🏼💛. Im lucky the runny nose only started on ovulation day so we were able to do it each day for the three days before ovulation, the day of and the day after. It feels like allergies more than a cold like hay fever clear runny nose and a bit of a headache. Fingers crossed you caught ovulation.

Yeah it does defo look like that peak on 28th so 4dpo. I did find this online saying it’s common to spot some times 1-2 days after ovulation so I wonder if that’s what it is?

im normally ok in the first 7 days it’s when I get to the 2nd week I start going a bit mental 😂😂 but I really hope the distraction with how busy work is and weekend plans help this!

Im wild for googling myself into a negative space, i’m worse case scenario girl lol 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ i can’t help it. lol yea i’m like you, i’m grand (ish) the first week and then i’m chopping at the bit after that 😂. Hopefully you’ll stay distracted. I’ll probably cave eventually towards the end of the second week 🤦🏼‍♀️. He’s away for a few days with work soon so it’ll just be me and google hahaha

I know, it’s hard to keep try on here sometimes. This’ll be my first baby (all being well). Been trying since December, i know it’s not long but everything feels like a lifetime when it’s all you’ve ever wanted. You’re going for number two aren’t you?

Hi everyone. I stopped taking the pill January 3rd. I was due on yesterday but no period, I did a pregnancy test and it was negative. A couple of hours later I did an ovulation test and the lines were strongly positive. We dtd a short while after.

This is my first time trying and not sure what’s happening so would love everyone’s input :) I’m 30 and had been on the combined pill for a 10 years. Thank you.

@PoppyGirl222 yeah, we were super lucky last time and fell pregnant straight away. I just don’t feel like we will get so lucky this time. I get that December to now isn’t that long, but TTC becomes all consuming, so it feels like such a long time !! I totally get it ❤️

@Purpleseaside I would keep testing - do you normally have regular periods? Or is being late quite normal. I’ve seen lots of threads and videos where people haven’t had a positive until up to a week after their missed period. You’re not out until your period comes 🤞🏼. If you’ve come off the pill recently, your cycles might be a bit off for a little bit

I feel super lucky to be able to talk to likeminded people who bring a caring, kind sympathetic ear to the situation so thanks guys 💛. We’re keeping it under our hat that we’re ttc and they say a problem shared is a problem halved….or misery loves company lol either way i’m grateful for the support.

I’ve had people say unhelpful things like “oh you two better get on it yous aren’t getting any younger” and also people literally asking outright “are you trying” like they have a right to this info. Just last night a family member asked behind my back to someone to see if they’d heard if we’re trying. I don’t think i’m being unreasonable for thinking what gives them the right to think they can have access to my life on such a person level? You never know what someone’s situation is so best just be kind and mind your own business. Im letting it go but from here on in i’m addressing it. They don’t share their lives like that.

@PoppyGirl222 honestly people are nosy and pressurising. I’ve found relatives the worst. I cried in the shower yesterday (not done that since I was a teenager), because my parents called and piled on the when will you have a baby chat. They don’t know I had a miscarriage last year. It still makes me feel really sad, like if for whatever reason I couldn’t have kids, I wouldn’t be enough for them or something (dramatic I know). They have been full on since my sister in law had hers and she’s pregnant again, which sparked the phone call I think.

Like you, I might address it soon. Thinking of you ❤️ and this safe space is just what people need when TTC, it can be lonely and maddening x

@PoppyGirl222 @Mossyslabs I am so sorry to hear that people have been putting this pressure on you. Before having my daughter, I had to tell my mother and MIL just to leave it - I ended up telling them we didn’t want kids for another 5 years and that was our plan. Anyway it worked and the left us alone and then they were shocked when we told them we were pregnant.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss @Mossyslabs, it’s hard enough dealing with that without your family, let alone when they are then prodding you about having children. It’s not dramatic at all, it’s such a big thing and people throw around the ‘when are you going to have kids’ like you can just magic yourself pregnant.

Not making excuses for them but I do think it’s a bit of a generational thing … my MIL told me I ate too unhealthily for someone who one day would be the vessel to her grandchild. VESSEL?! As you can see, I’m not over that 🤣

Aw @TTCRach the vessel made me laugh 🤣 that’s like something out of a sitcom. It sounds ridiculous then you realise they’re actually being serious 🤦‍♀️

Yeah I’m quite a private person and it was 7 weeks so before I’d told anyone anyway. Makes the questioning sting a bit more though.

Telling them to back off and giving a long timeline would’ve lifted some pressure too, bet they were shocked by the news of their new grandchild ❤️ Good luck TTC x

Ah sending you lots of love and positivity @PoppyGirl222 - our bodies do weird things when we scrutinise every little thing so as hard as it is to not have an answer as to what's happening, keep your chin up and hope for the best. You may have some good news yet.

I'm due on 14th Feb too.

Had no idea folic acid could mess with your cycle. I started taking it last month but I also don't feel my hopes are high - not sure we timed things quite right, and definitely didn't ba-doink as much as we could have done. Silly us!

Had a bit of a little cry over the weekend as saw some old videos on my phone from when my parents were fostering two little girls (who went on to be adopted). My partner was so sweet and just gave me a big hug and said 'I know you're not done yet' and it probably doesn't sound like much but it meant the world. Throughout our relationship I've been really honest that I have concerns about my own fertility and his faith in us and what we can do together is just the most wholesome thing. So lovely to feel like whatever life throws at us, we'll tackle it together. And that means I know everything will be okay.

@Mossyslabs Im sorry you were so upset yesterday. It’s not right for anyone to make us feel this way. Im not a gossiper and i hate knowing a secret because then you can be accused of passing it along. I’d rather be the last to know. Drama free life is the way to go. That’s gotta be hard knowing you’ve lost a baby, the future you had planned in your head for your family and for people to be so ignorant to the fact that you might have some personal things you don’t share. You are totally enough if you can have children or not, we’re all enough 💛.

@TTCRach Omg a vessel!?!?!? That’s awful, it’s like something from handmaids tale. You’re a person with real feelings i can’t believe someone would be so inconsiderate to someone. Eughh people really annoy me. I know we can’t expect everyone to behave how we would be a little bit of manners please, it’s common sense. I’d not be over that either. You’re much more than a “vessel”.

@Taysonic Aww snap for the 14th 🙂. Sorry you had an emotional time at the weekend. He sounds like a lovely guy. My partner is one of those guys too. I feel lucky and grateful every day he’s my protector and my absolute best friend in the world. I feel wobbly about my fertility, because i’m older (im 37) and only starting now for the first time. Hopefully your concerns are uneventful and there’ll be babies all round in this group. I hope you’re ok. Seems we’ve all had a wee emotional weekend. We’re stronger than we know 💪🏼 we got this!

@TTCRach this’ll be my 2nd 🥰 first I fell pregnant pretty quickly after about 3 months this time I think we’re on month 6 now but I am 3 years old! I keep thinking that’ll have an effect although only 35 🙈 but my friend was 37 and she got pregnant first time and didn’t even know she was ovulating! It works in mysterious ways
the vessel comment 😳 wow! They have no filter for sure! 😂

@Mossyslabs @PoppyGirl222 god its so annoying getting asked isn’t it! If I get asked on more time if I’m having another I’m on the verge of loosing it with someone 😂

Sorry to hear some of you had some emotional weekends. Hoping for a better week ahead.
Definitely understand the feeling of family pressure. @TTCRach we did the same with ours and have just told everyone we don't want kids. It hasn't stopped them asking completely but I think its helped ease the pressure.

I'm going to start LH testing tomorrow. I think this is the most exciting bit of the cycle, anything can happen!
