TTC whilst breastfeeding - cycle 4

Is there anyone who’d like to join me…

Currently on cycle 4, CD11. Still breastfeeding my nearly 2 year old and co-sleeping, wondering if it’s having an effect on fertility as we conceived in a blink of an eye the first time…trying not to overthink it all.

Anyone welcome to join, don’t have to be breastfeeding, just any support welcome!

Thought last month was the month but here we are again… :/

@BabyBorn I just saw you had noro, so sorry, how awful! Hope you're feeling recovered now. And you have three children already!!? Blimey you must be very busy. Haha well we were late thirties when we had our second so needed to crack on. How old are your children?

Yes exactly. Wondering if I am flogging a dead horse, especially at nearly 40 😫

I don’t temp because my little one co sleeps with us and wakes me up a lot so it’s not accurate if you are having disturbed sleep. I just feel ovulation every month and the lead up to it around 3 days before. Weird thing is that I ovulated on day 12 this month instead of day 16! Only difference is I’ve been doing week acupuncture and clean eating so I’m guessing that’s why 🤷‍♀️

My 3 are… gulp 😂 20,12 and my youngest will be 3 in July! Eldest is away at uni, 12 year old is obviously at school. My youngest goes to nursery 3 times a week so I get a little break.

I was testing ov this month, thank goodness, and didn't ovulate until CD26, it was driving me mad!! Currently 5dpo so just trying to distract myself from the tww.

No tests left in the house here so I'm planning on just waiting it out.

Yes and tbh i could be earlier, no idea when i really ovulated. Don't "feel" pregnant this month though!

Very much still breastfeeding. DD is officially 1 now 🎉 we tend to do a midmorning feed (which she often isn't bothered about anymore) and a post afternoon nap feed.
She's currently teething though and is basically spending all night attached to a boob or she won't settle 🙃

Not really any signs over here, a bit of bloating but nothing our of the ordinary.

@Strongbrewplease oh wow your bubba is so little still! Think we didn't start till my daughter was 20 months, didn't have the energy 😥

Oh, well keep me in the loop. Think i'm 8DPO/9DPO. Cramping yesterday and today but normal for me at this point (looking back at previous months notes!)

Ah yeah my daughter is 26 months now and still on the boob all night when she's poorly :D

You must be getting close to the end of the tww @ThatNimbleOP any signs yet?

How about you @BabyBorn? How are you getting on with acupuncture? That was what seemed to make the difference for me the first time round. I would definitely go back to it if we don't have much luck.

I'm 11dpo and have started having that imminent AF feeling for the past couple of days. I did have that with DD though so it doesn't really give me an indication either way!

Hey @Strongbrewplease I’m back to it on Wednesday! I’ve not been for 3 weeks as the acupuncturist has been on holiday and I’ve been away too! Look forward to going back but might cut it back a bit. Going twice a week is a bit of a pain, and expensive!! Might speak to her and suggest to go once a week. See how I get on. It definitely brought my ovulation forward by 4 days! I’m on CD 2 now and my last cycle was only 26 days long! That never happens so im
thinking it must be the acupuncture! How about you? Was it positive for you? How often were you going?

I felt so bloated 3 days before AF started this time around. Hope it stays away for you! X

So I think I’m 13/14 DPO but tbh I’m really not sure, I could also be 12DPO 😆 either way, no sign of AF yet!! I refuse to test though, just going to be blissfully naive and wait even longer….this is defo crunch time though, each day waiting for period to start haha! Also still not sure how long my luteal phase is because I don’t temp! Think it is 14 though.

Symptom wise, feel exactly the same as I do every other month however around “implantation” time I did have really awful cramps and a cold but believe I’ve had the cramps other months looking back. Boobs feel okay too…

So no news yet sorry!

Oh 11DPO @Strongbrewplease hiw long is your luteal normally?

@BabyBorn ive heard wonders about acupuncture, defo keep us informed. Doesn’t it provide more oxygen to the womb?

It’s supposed to get more oxygen all around the body yes. I’m on Chinese herbal tea too and they have herbs in it specifically for fertility! Need to give it some time. I’ve had a break for a while so need to do it for the next few months and see what happens!

@BabyBorn i know :D I've been been too POAS happy previous months and always been disappointed...plus i'm really not 100% sure about ovulation dates so in my mind it could still come today/tomorrow. If i was pretty sure i would have tested!

But yes it is exciting...i got a blazing LH positive mid-day on the 9th March with EWCM...so could have ovulated anytime after that so yeah AF could still rear her ugly head haha!

Oh well i've heard really good things about it, oh what tea is that?

With DD is started acupuncture after 5 cycles/6 months of no luck. My cycles are (still) all over the place.
Saw the GP first but they don't seem too bothered as I do have periods, just not a consistent cycle length 🤪
They did one test for PCOS, which was negative, so I got a come back in 12 months, you're fine.
I was frustrated so looked into alternatives and thought I'd give acupuncture a go. I did a session a week for 6 weeks and then fell pregnant. So a really positive experience for me! The last session I had was right at the end of the tww and the acupuncturist said she didn't think I'd be back!!

I think my luteal phase is 14 days so it's getting close!

@ThatNimbleOP well I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed for you! Hopefully AF won’t show! If your postive LH test was positive you should be at least 14DPO now?!

The tea is Chinese herbs. The acupuncturist chooses the herbs to suit your specific conditions/problems. I take the raw herbs home and boil them in a pan and drink twice a day. I’ve googled my herbs and they seem to be for gut health and women’s fertility. For miscarriage prevention and balancing hormones to help thicken the lining of the room in preparation for a healthy pregnancy! All very interesting!

That is excellent @Strongbrewpleasei am going to give it a go for a few more months and see what happens!

@BabyBornjust to chime in on accupuncture, I had it after a missed miscarriage when trying for my first. Went once a week for five weeks, my period had been all over the place post miscarriage. Had one awful period after starting accupuncture, then was pregnant immediately afterwards. Some friends tried it also and had positive results

It’s amazing isn’t it @january1244glad it worked for you! I stopped and started as the woman went away for 3 weeks and I went away for a week so all in all I’ve missed a month. My period is so heavy at the moment. Just waiting for it to get gone so I can start trying again 😆 I start back at acupuncture on Wednesday x

@BabyBorn yeah so I had a blazing ovulation stick positive around 14:00 9th March? So according to ChatGPT my period should have come yesterday 😆

Im just too nervous to test as my cycles are normally so much longer, that would have put me at 27 days but I have had such fluctuations lately that I could have definitely ovulated on CD13 I also had a lot of EWCM that day which prompted me to test!

Sorry ladies I’m being an absolute coward but I’m not gonna test till I’m past CD32 which is when my period normally comes…so I’ll test Saturday if she’s not here!!

Oh just seem all these posts about acupuncture!! Fascinating…I follow this woman call Ivana cook on instagram and she was having trouble conceiving second alongside breastfeeding, one month accupuncture, boom pregnant!

I caved, I tested 🙈

I justified it to myself by saying I start back at work later this week and I'll be miserable enough doing that, let alone my period starting that day too (which is when it's due, typical 🙄).

A bfn so at least now I can prepare mentally.

Yeah we're in the same boat, moving out of our flat Thursday so tbh i don't even want to think about babies or pregnancy. Ignorance is bliss haha.

Decided to give acupuncture a try as had never tried it before never mind for TTC. Will soon find out if it actually works for me. I have no other fertility issues that I am aware of and my cycles are pretty on point with being regular. I just need to get pregnant and make it stick!

@BabyBorn i think i can't bear to see another negative test so i'm just saving myself any heartache by waiting to see if AF shows up...it's nice to think i might be until it's confirmed either way haha! What DPO are you on @BabyBorn

I know @ThatNimbleOPi did that last cycle. Waited for as long as I could then just had to test.

Im on CD 4 at the moment. My period was so heavy for 3 days but calmed down loads today. Will be glad to see the back of it and see my fertile window! Definitely lovely to have you ladies on board and going through it all together. X

Girls my period came today….i guess I ovulated slightly later then I thought. So another month not happened…it is so devastating.

Feel like breastfeeding has to go!!
