Morning, Its hot here already.

I'm really tired today as I just didn't sleep last night as I was too hot.

Hope everyone has good days.

Meeely2 · 09/05/2008 08:54

BFN this morning girls with a first response test, so I am now convinced I am not pregs just yet - maybe I will relax now and AF will come, then we can get started GOF next month!

Hope everyone is good this AM, weather looks promising yet again, and I got an in law visit for a BBQ to look forward to tomorrow.

tinkishothothot · 09/05/2008 09:05

sorry meeely
bbq sounds great.
me and dh are going to a mj show called thriller is a compalation of all his hits

tinkishothothot · 09/05/2008 09:07

hi k sorry u were 2 hot last nite i was 2.
it is really dark outside here and 16 degrees
decided i will only test once i have 18 high temps 5 days and counting

Meeely2 · 09/05/2008 09:13

can I ask, since I new to all this TTC lark, if AF is late, which she is (5 days and counting so far), when she does come, should I count 31 days (my usual cycle length) from the first day to work out when i next due on, or should i count 31 days from when I was due last sunday? I am basically gonna bed DH every day from when AF finishes til I am next due, so I wanna know when to give the poor guy a break!

Diege · 09/05/2008 09:48

Hi Meeeley, I'd say count first day of af as day one, regardless of whether cycle is technically later than norm. I'd maybe expect ov to be later though on next cycle (unless cycle goes back to normal length??). All v.confusing..TEUCH is the woman you want
Looking good TINKS!!! That would fit in with brown stuff too .
Aww Kay, poor thing It's a lot cooler here today (and we had rain first thing) so I'll do a rain dance for you iof you like .

Meeely2 · 09/05/2008 10:33

thanks Diege

kayzisexpecting · 09/05/2008 11:00

Sorry about BFN Meeely.

Its still to hot. I hate thunder but we could really do with a thunderstorm to just clear this heat a bit.

witchandchips · 09/05/2008 11:08

Meely This could be absolute b**lks but my mum once told be that each ovary takes it in turn to release an egg. Thus a late period one month could actually mean it comes a bit earlier. Now i've written it down it sounds crap but anyway
I'd do the wee sticks from day 11 if i were you

also don't forget that only 99% of pregnant women get a BFP around the time their period is due so there is still a chance..

Meeely2 · 09/05/2008 11:56

I was due last sunday witchandchips! So I am pretty convinced I'm not.

No disrespect to your mum, but last time I had twins, and fink my ovaries were on overtime, cos they each fired one (well we think so, cos boys implanted on either side of my womb - so actually it's just a guess!). I think the older you get the more random egg release gets and hence why twins happen more in older women than younger (tis true, i pwomise).

I just gonna have LOTS of sex ALL the time and I may even catch the exact same time I did 4 years ago (4 years ago today I had my last AF before i got pregs with boys! can you imagine if I did catch in next few weeks - would be bricking it on way to scan!)

witchandchips · 09/05/2008 12:10

I've been 2 years TTC (am 39 so getting a bit desperate) got my BFP a week ago just before starting cycle of IUI. What worked for me (and 4 years ago when got last BFP for DS) was
a) putting on a bit of weight
b) drinking much more than normal
c) doing loads of BD
for me fat+happy = fertile
so get with the wine and chocolate

Diege · 09/05/2008 13:08

Wine and choccies sounds great!! . And also to with the fact that wine plus chocs eqauls relaxed equals lots of goffing . Many congrats - bet no.3 will be a breeze after twins .
Have heard the alternative months ovary thing, but also read something more recently that most women tend to favour one side over the other (usually the left for some reason ).
It's raining here now . Why did Kay make me do the rain dance??

kayzisexpecting · 09/05/2008 14:00

Its not raining here Diege!!

I feel like death!!!!!!!!!! I have a sore throat, bunged up nose and my eyes hurt. I think I am going to die. BTW I am awful when ill. I'm like a man with man flu I really am.

Plus DS is ill too, so it's no fun here today.

But I bought some chocolate fudge ice cream so I might have some!!

TheSlightestTeuch · 09/05/2008 14:11

Hey peeps! Crack open that ice cream Kay!

Meely, it is likely that ovulation was delayed this cycle, hence the delayed period. The part of your cycle between ovulation and period (Luteal Phase) should never differ by more than a day each month, so looking out for signs of ovulation (cervical mucous, cervical positions, OV pains, OPK's, temping) all help to pinpoint when period is actually due.

Did you have any indication of ovulation this month?

Also, it is generally thought that your ovaries release randomly as opposed to alternately, although I am fairly sure that I have been alternate throughout ttc as I get OV pain.

Diege · 09/05/2008 14:13

I think you should have the chocolate fudge icecream, definitely - after all you need to keep your strength up! Poor you though, hope you feel better soon; not hayfever related I take? I'm also a real man when ill, and am not a good patient (dh is even worse!)

Diege · 09/05/2008 14:14

[waves back] Hi Teuch!! As always, great advice from the logistics expert of the thread . How are things going? Have the niggles settled down?

kayzisexpecting · 09/05/2008 14:17

I've never had hayfever before so I don't think its that.

TheSlightestTeuch · 09/05/2008 14:19

I feel a bit bonkers actually, as I swear I have been having what feels like Braxton Hicks... .

I am also out of all of my trousers bar one pair of now manky comfy jeans ! WTF??!!

TheSlightestTeuch · 09/05/2008 14:20

ps - BH's do actually start around 6 weeks, but nobody ever feels them as far as I know...

kayzisexpecting · 09/05/2008 14:21

I thought I felt movements when I was in bed last night!! So did someone else on the Due Dec thread!!

What are BH's like? I never had any.

TheSlightestTeuch · 09/05/2008 14:22

Kay - hormones make you more susceptible to allergy-related things... like I am more allregic to dogs at certain times in my cycle, and developed exczema (sp?) in pregnancy...

kayzisexpecting · 09/05/2008 14:23

Oh so it could be hayfever then. I wasn't pg this time of the year with DS, so maybe thats why I didn't get it.

Diege · 09/05/2008 14:27

I could have sworn I felt movements with dd3 at about 9 weeks, though common sense says not . Def felt movements with no. 2 earlier though - about 14 weeks (21 wks or so with dd1).
Kay, if it is hayfever there are things you can safely take in pregnancy

Meeely2 · 09/05/2008 14:33

thanks teuch - I do usually get ovulation pain, and I think it was around the usual time this month, although I have had CM this last week (31+days after last AF, is that poss?) I think DH and I should just carry on BDing and hope for the best.

Sometimes too much knowledge is a bad thing in my case - over analyse EVERYTHING, read too much into everything. If we have sex everyday surely, ONE swimmer will get it right! Let nature take its course - it worked last time so crossing fingers and going with the flow will be my mantra from now on.

kayzisexpecting · 09/05/2008 14:35

I might go to the chemist and ask them. I rang the MW and she aid just take paracetamol.
