Hey all! I am TTC first baby - currently 4 months in and have been starting to feel a bit down! The negative tests are getting to me - does anyone else feel like this?

To provide some BG - I am 29, had Mirena IUD out in April (was in for 5 years) and prior to this was on/off pill since aged 14 which I was put on then for irregular, heavy, painful periods and acne (I sometimes worry I have undiagnosed PCOS). My periods are regular-ish since IUD removal (34-42 days) and appear fairly normal. Our life has been so hectic recently with no real free weekends for 2-3 months due to lots of weddings, work, life events etc and I do get easily stressed which I am worried is impacting fertility! I am taking Folic Acid supplements and ovulation strips each month…is there more I should be doing? I absolutely adore children and there is nothing I want more than to be a Mum and have a baby!

Would love to chat to some gals going through similar to me and share this journey together πŸ₯°

Hi @stickytoffee95
I like you am TTC my first ! I’m 33 and had an early MC in April. Since then not a peek of a line! The whole process has been stressing me out so much, so this month we have taken a relaxed approach and only ended up DTD once to days before O last week. Feel much more chilled about it but not hopeful it will work!
I’m on cycle 6/7 since my MC !
hope we can get through this month together ☺️

@stickytoffee95 hi I am also ttc my first. Have been trying for nearly 14 months and never had a BFP 😞 I am 38 so panicking I've left it too late but all tests so far show that everything is all good.
Currently 7dpo so praying I might have a BfP for Xmas 🀞🏼
What cycle day are you?

Marvelftw · 17/12/2024 12:56

TTC my first as well! Aged 35, was on the pill pretty much since I was 18. Just came off last month and my partner and I were trying around what would be my fertile window but I’ve been having some dull aches for the past few days and my discharge has started to get heavy so I reckon AF is on the way soon.

Slightly disappointed but at least I can track my cycle properly if it is going to kick in soon.

jalapen0 · 17/12/2024 13:24

Hey! I’m TTC my first too, with this being cycle 1. I have quite short cycles so tried using OPKs to check whether I’m ovulating this month but didn’t realise it was better to use the manual setting so kind of gave up on them and will start again in Jan.

Similar to @Marvelftw we tried a bit around my β€˜expected’ fertile window but not feeling particularly confident!

LuckyDuck93 · 17/12/2024 15:40

Hi, i'm on month 6 of TTC our 1st, it's funny no-one at school ever tells you how stressful it is, they just tell you how easy it is to get pregnant!!
AF just started today so another month out, I know it's easier said than done, but I haven't bought any pregnancy tests and just wait to see if AF comes, it's hard but I think I would struggle more with seeing negative tests!

Fashionlover123 · 17/12/2024 16:56

I’m TTC first baby too, 3rd cycle! my cycles are a bit irregular, 28-34 days, randomly last month the first time I’ve tracked properly it was a 38 day cycle, didn’t ovulate until day 27! Was a bloody nightmare peeing on strips for that long!!!πŸ˜‚ so this month I decided I wouldn’t be doing them. Randomly on day 12 I had a feeling I could be ovulating…did a strip and it was a blazing positive! We hadn’t DTD since last week!!!! So ended up doing twice on peak day and once ovulation day. Hope I caught it in time!!! πŸ˜‚

Marvelftw · 17/12/2024 18:51

@jalapen0 haha yeah it would have been amazing if had managed to conceive after coming straight off the pill but I know in reality that would be very unlikely.

@LuckyDuck93 I’ve already decided on this journey that I won’t test until my AF is definitely late. Was surprised by how many people do the opposite!

CJHR18 · 18/12/2024 11:52

Hiya!

We're ttc too! We've been trying for 3 years and are now under out fertility clinic. Metformin seems to have sorted my cycles out.

I've been pregnant twice. Unfortunately had a MMC at 8 weeks and an early twin pregnancy loss this month.

Just been given the all clear yo start trying again as my HCG is back to normal.

Not looking forward to the ups and downs again πŸ™ˆ* *

Kateeeeeeee · 18/12/2024 13:05

Let 2025 be our year, truly….
I expected to get pregnant super quickly because I always had great, regular cycles yet here I am, on cycle 8 already, in disbelief.

I have gone to have fertility investigations early and already discovered a few months ago that there might be issues which massively bring me down and I am having a really hard time right now.
After discovering an endmetrioma cyst which may suggest endometriosis, my world came crashing down. I always thought this is the last condition I could possibly ever have!
My husband’s results were very good but his morphology was very low, again shocked me massively due to our healthy lifestyle, supplements etc.
Now I am just praying that we can still get pregnant naturally, however long that may take. My biggest dream was always to have a big family so this is incredibly hard for me.
I wasn’t sure if I could post this, but I think it is important to spread awareness since these conditions are so common, even despite having no symptoms like me, and investigating early is going to (hopefully) save us time.

Hey everyone!

Also, TTC baby no.1. Had a miscarriage in March 2023 - I fell pregnant after only 3 months, so now I can't believe it's nearly the end of 2024 and haven't had a positive again since!

We've got out first fertility appointment in Feb so here's hoping for a better baby making 2025 for everyone!!

Aj269 · 18/12/2024 18:31

Hey everyone πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

Ttc too! 33 with thyroid issues so I’m not too hopefully but the only way is up I guess. Would be good to have others to chat to as I haven’t told anybody in my life yet (apart from other half obviously, he’s kind of required to know πŸ˜‚).

Sunch · 20/12/2024 19:24

Hi all, glad I found this group, I’ve been on another group for those trying to conceive but I think this may be better as it’s for first time mums to be. We unfortunately had a mmc in April, took up to Aug to really physically heal. Have started again ttc in sept so 4/5 cycles now. It’s so hard honestly - have always tried to keep a positive outlook but when you want something so bad and you’re not in control it becomes super difficult. Taking a December break and hope to get back on the horse in the NY. Really hoping for good news for us early in the year πŸ™‚

Sorry to hear about your mmc - not a nice thing to go through at all. Is this private or through the NHS?

Any of you ladies have sore boobs from o up until period? I always do but this cycle no pain! Hoping lack of symptoms is a sign.

I started TTC in June 2022. Took til Aug 2023.

34 yo. No previous pregnancies and on the combined pill for around 20 years (few attempts at depo and implant along the way).

I downloaded and paid for a 12 month subscription to Flo and feck all happened. Tracked my temp, my discharge (😩) my sex.

Decided I wasn’t paying for another year and I would make an appointment with GP to investigate.

Went on holiday, was due on period and it never arrived… my LO is 7 months old!

I wrote this to try to be helpful, that you can be doing all the things and it will still take time. Just wanted to share that I’d felt like something was wrong but it worked out. Please don’t be disheartened if TTC is taking longer than you hoped.

On reflection, this might come across as insensitive or dismissive - which couldn’t be further than my intention so please report for deletion if it does. I don’t mean to minimise the impact of TTC, having been through it.

Hi all, month 1 done for me of actively trying. With ovulation tests etc. there are so many acronyms! Was on the implant for 9 years and came off in June time. But for the most part going with the flow.

I’m 31 also with thyroid issues although I’ve been on a steady dose (although a high dose) for a long time now. Does it really affect it that much? Appreciate any reading recommendations on it if you’ve looked into it @Aj269 ☺️

Heya, I usually do, I think it’s a normal thing - but if you’re experiencing something this cycle, could be a sign. Fingers crossed for you.

Funny thing is going on with me this cycle. I came on as usual around the 10th, had a weird period, brown blood although light then two light red period days and then a wierd sort of liquid, not as thick as blood but brownish in colour, all together 5 days (which is how long my periods usually are), thought nothing of it although my periods are normal normal red blood. Then two days later CD7 my boobs/nipples sensitive as hell and sore. I’m on CD13 today and a little light spotting. Have no idea what’s going on. Took a pregnancy test on CD9 (first pic), then took another yesterday CD12. I’m going to take another on Boxing Day (don’t want additional stress over Christmas).

Hello,

I’m new here. I’m 31. We are ttc#1 and are on cycle 6. I have been doing opks and either I am doing them wrong or there is something wrong with me.

I am waiting on my period to arrive to order a test kit from hertility. I had a fever on cd21+22 this cycle and fear it had thrown my cycle off. I am 4 days late and getting stark white negatives.

Has anyone else used hertility?

S4mmyj90 · 23/12/2024 08:29

I'm TTC #1. I'm on cycle 5 and had a chemical pregnancy on cycle 1. The symptoms and negative tests are really getting to me. Hoping 2025 will be my year to become a mum.

Hello I'm not TTC but to let you know I also have thyroid issues but got pregnant on my first cycles both times. Regarding thyroid as soon as you know you're pregnant you need to go to the doctors and get your meds reviewed. If you're underactive thyroid you'll need an increase in levothyroxine.

BussiBop23 · 23/12/2024 10:11

Thanks @Sunch it's through the NHS. It's been a long wait and process just to get the referral and first appointment, so it can't come soon enough now!

Anyone else due on their period Xmas day? Unsure if I should test or wait and see if it arrives? I woke up in a terrible mood, which makes me think my period is on its way πŸ˜‚

I’ve used Hertility, it’s what got my Hashimotos (underactive thyroid) diagnosis, without it I likely would have struggled to get pregnant but I actually did it as my periods were all over the place. I did really struggle with getting enough blood for the test so ended up getting a nurse to do it.

BussiBop23 · 23/12/2024 15:16

Also, just a thought. Thank goodness we have places like this we can talk! I went on my Xmas girls' night out. All been friends for years and years and share everything with each other. We spoke about everyone's lives, job losses, losing parents, poorly relatives, and general life events, but no one asked me about my difficulty TTC.

It's always avoided ... anyone else feel that way? Or do I just have crappy friends?
