I thought I'd start it off. Ooh feels very new and odd, quick someone have a testing dilemma, break the new thread in.

OP posts:
lardylumps · 01/05/2008 17:15

I cant get the link to work but ladies I have started a new thread in health and your opinions would be much appreciated if you have a spare minute!!

NatalieJane · 01/05/2008 17:18

I will have a look LL.

I can't remember exactly Tink. I think the chances of getting a correct result at 13dpo is 50/50.... is that right? Teuch? Squack?? There was a table linked to either from here or the waiting to test thread a while ago now.

I'll see if I can find anything concrete, but will just look at LL's thread first

NatalieJane · 01/05/2008 17:32

I can't find anything that resembles that table...

Hang on will do a MN search, see if I can find it.

Squack · 01/05/2008 17:34

don't ask me I always test early. 10dpo usually gives me a positive.
I'll wait until wed though as I'm due then.

NatalieJane · 01/05/2008 17:39

Here It isn't totally correct though because it says at 4 days late you'd get a BFP 100% of the time, which is a lie!

Can we have a mini-list of who is testing when?

Squack: 07/05
Nat: 08/05
Tink: 10/05
LL: 21/05

NatalieJane · 01/05/2008 17:40

5 minutes won't be enough - don't you know me at all by now??!!

Nat the first song that played on the radio at work was "If you don't know me by now" How spooky.

My feet are about to drop off. DS is in a bit of a mood. We have discovered he loves Jelly Babies. He has just grabbed my bag of them and eaten 2. Little monkey.

Diege · 01/05/2008 18:03

Hello! Well just got back from hairdressers can you believe. Had to rush and do school run mid-appointment (my hair takes ages to 'lift') and then go back to have my fringe finished off after...AND I forgot to turn the heating off in the house so we are roasting!! . And she cut 2 inches off !!!! Without telling me!!!! (knackered ends apparently, a bit like some of our dps/dhs at the moment , though not mine I might add .
Poor dd LL Could the ear tugging be a sign of a slight ear infection do you think? Was always a sign with my sister's dd.
Squack - how can you not like Galaxy? . Nat, you are not allowed to leave the thread during testing time, it is written in the group's constitution (there are exceptional circumstances, but our need is far greater than yours!!! Do you have a laptop that you could surrepticiously (sp??) take into the toilet with you while you test??? Without dh knowing?

lardylumps · 01/05/2008 18:10

I really want my hair highlighted again. I loved being blond but when I found out I was pg dp banned me as we couldn't afford £70 every 2 months (or so). So I died it dark brown.

I am now going grey and the dark brown makes them stand out....... I cant afford to get highlights soooooooooooooooo wish I could...

Diege · 01/05/2008 18:26

LL I am so with you on the grey and dark brown business. My natural colour is very dark brown/mousy black, but I started going grey in my teens and have had the hassle of colouring ever since. After many years of splattered bathroom carpets and orange roots, I finally succombed to salon colouring, and now go every 3 weeks for roots, and every 6 for highlights. Tis my life's work, and even if I wanted to give up work I couldn;t - I am truly a slave to the salon . One of my panics is colouring in pregnancy. I know there is no scientific evidence to say don't colour in pregnancy (and I did it every 3 weeks anyway with all 3 dds ) but I'm still a bit about it all. I think it's because I know I can't live with grey roots even for the first 12 weeks and will have to just try and deal with the (unwarranted) worry!

kayzisexpecting · 01/05/2008 18:30

I never ever coloured my hair when I was expecting DS and I wont with this one. Thank god I decided to dye my hair brown a few weeks ago so I wont get any roots showing. I just can not bring myself to look like a fool.

kayzisexpecting · 01/05/2008 18:38

Diege, doesn't your hair go funny when its dyed while you are pg? My friend had her hair dyed and it went all patchy and she looked really stupid and then had to have it all cut off.

Hence the reason I wont dye mine. Apparently its very common due to hormones I think.

lardylumps · 01/05/2008 18:47

my hair went lovely and thick during pregnacy and the day after I gave birth it all started falling out. gutted. I now have short whispy bits where it is growing back... nice....

Diege · 01/05/2008 18:52

Kay, yes you're right, the funny colour thing is the only noted side effect (for some women), but my hairdresser did a strand test to make sure that my usual colours would still take (and in the same way).
LL, I still have wispy bits too, and dd3 is 2! Just at the temples but not so noticeable no that I have a fringe.

kayzisexpecting · 01/05/2008 19:41

My hair didn't change at all. I wanted it to go thick as I have very thin hair but it didn't. I might go and get my hair cut tomorrow. I only want an inch or so of the bottom.

I just had a lovely soak in the bath. It was so nice to soak my feet after working all day.

Diege · 01/05/2008 19:45

Soak in the bath sounds good! I know it's a long way ahead, but have you thought about maternity leave etc yet? One of the great benefits of being pregnant, though wouldn;t it be nice is we were like workers in Denmark who get one years full pay!

kayzisexpecting · 01/05/2008 19:49

Yes I think about it probably every 2 seconds while I am at work. Roll on November!!!

lardylumps · 01/05/2008 20:02

I can not wait to tell my boss I am pg. They stitched me up when I went back to work... cant say too much as I know some of them use MN.

Right ladies I am off now so will speek to you tomorrow....

Night night.

Diege · 01/05/2008 20:06

Lol Kay, I think about it all the time and I'm not even pregnant . Night LL - sounds a rum business with your work - telling them will give you great satisfaction!
