Just a quick check-in, working from home today, thank goodness, I'm crackered. DS is much better but has apparently abandoned the need to sleep .

Hopefully I'll be able to get lots done at home though so things will be easier the rest of the week when I'm back in the office .

Catch up later,
Cal

TheSlightestTeuch · 29/04/2008 09:21

Hullo all,

Just a quick for now - maybe back later...

Oh, I heard from the friend who is around 9-10wks that the local GP is only sending her for a 16wk scan, despite the health board (where she will deliver) offering 2!!! I am raging about this, as I already know now that I am going to have a battle for my 2 scans!! When friend questioned it, she actually said that there was evidence that scanning could be damaging and did she really want to do that to her baby !!!

I have already sent friend the guidelines, have told her to take it up with MW (who is lovely and told me that I culd probably go for an early scan, when I told her I was ttc)

This is the same GP, by the way, who sighs when you go for a smear...

TheSlightestTeuch · 29/04/2008 09:21

Actually...I think I will start a thread on this...

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 09:25

Thats awful Teuch, I thought they said there was no evidence that scans harm babies. Its says so in the leaflet the MW gave me. I can't believe that some health boards thinking that 1 scan is enough.

I am really really craving cherry sherbet. Its driving me nuts as nowhere near here sells it. I got some in Scotland when I was expecting DS and I craved it for most of my pregnancy so I was glad I got quite a lot. But I can't just go on holiday for sherbet.

TheSlightestTeuch · 29/04/2008 09:28

The official guidelines state that all women should be offered 2 scans!!!

If I see any sherbet, I shall send you some

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 09:30

Thanks.

I have just at the trains to Oban which is where the sweetshop is and it will take 10 hours

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 09:32

I have just looked at the trains

NatalieJane · 29/04/2008 09:33

Hoorah Tink I can't see your chart though, having siad it might be me, when the AV thingy is doing it's thing most of the time pages don't come up!

Kay, I did put a skirt on, walked out the front door, ran in and put some jeans on, it is no where near as warm out there as it looks! So you've not missed out!!

Morning everyone else

Teuch at that whole post! Would love to see the GP's so called evidence, I expect the whole medical world would!! It just goes to show what they can think they can get away with!

Lost my patience with DS1 today He took half an hour over a bowl of cornflakes (which he left most of anyway), then when he'd finished I sent him upstairs to do his teeth, 15 minutes later I took DS2 up to get him dressed and DS1 was still putting the tooth patse on his brush! I yelled Every single frigging morning, and evening is the same, You ask him to do something, and he will do it, but an hour later.... I had enough, told him he wasn't doing his board games after school club tomorrow, that tonight there is no telly/computer games/PC/ANYTHING. He will be sitting in his room reading all afternoon, he'll have half an hour for his dinner and what he doesn't eat is going in the bin. Bless him he isn't naughty, just takes his own sweet time about everything, but when we have to all be ready and out for 8.45 I need him to stick a rocket up his arse! Grrrrrr! I hate sending him into school when we're not happy with each other

Sorry, I ranted a bit there didn't I?!

TheSlightestTeuch · 29/04/2008 09:34

Oh, I would come and see yuo in Oban!!

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 09:37

I used to be like that. I used to take forever to do stuff and my mum used to go mad. I now hate being late for anything and do things really quickly. I think all her yelling did get through to me.

I have put one of maternity skirts on and a pair of tights. I might be a right idiot but I really like wearing my maternity stuff even though I am a bit annoyed that the jeans I bought like 2 days before I got my BFP don't fit.

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 09:46

I cant believe how hard it is to get to Oban. Its going to take 8 hours at the least. I must learn to drive. We love it in Scotland and want to spend a lot of time there on holiday.

TheSlightestTeuch · 29/04/2008 09:49

Look...it takes me about 3 hours to get there, and that is my local supermarket, etc!!!

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 09:52

LOL. DH wants to live in Tobermory. He thinks it would be great. But he thinks I am mad for wanting to live on a farm in the highlands as we will be isolated.

Squackycake · 29/04/2008 09:58

Breathe NJ...breathe.

Tinks chart looks great, I've seen it

I don't think I'm pg this month. I just knew last month at about 3dpo and I haven't had that this month at all. My post-O temps are lower than last month too.

All in all I think this month is just ovulatory, nothing else

God I can't believe how long it'll be til next month fertile phase, feels like ages.

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 09:59

NatalieJane · 29/04/2008 10:29

Kay try one of the earlier links, it is looking very good Tink

I'm breathing Squacky Hoping that your feelings aren't true, it has been said before, the time when people are pregnant, is the time they think they aren't!!

Kay Box, now, Rock star

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 10:30

YAY!! Its so good. DS is dancing!

Squacky, Nat is right. I am living pregnant proof. I didn't think I was pregnant at all.

TheSlightestTeuch · 29/04/2008 10:40

I didn't think I was either...see earlier posts about why I was sure it was not our month, yada, yada

for dancing DS!!

Moosma · 29/04/2008 10:41

Hello all, just popping in to say good morning. Have lots and lots of washing to do, DD2 was sick in her bed last night, had to change the sheets 3 times Her room stinks and her rabbit and cat are a bit lumpy She's ok this morning though, just a bit pale and clingy.

kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 10:58

DS has just had a grumpy few minutes and threw his spoon which had food on at me. The sofa, laptop, floor and myself were covered in orange gloop.

Squackycake · 29/04/2008 11:12

Aw Moos poor dd is she okay?

How are you? still nothing?

OP posts:
kayzisexpecting · 29/04/2008 11:21

Poor DD Moos. I dont know how I will cope when DS gets to the age of being sick properly rather than just bringing up milk. I am not good with sick.

Squackycake · 29/04/2008 11:41

I can't find the post Teuch, why didn't you think you were pg?
