Well what a lot to catch up on!!

Firstly - woohoo - many congrats to CE and Knax!! This is really a successful thread!

Oh Soosy I really hope it is good news for you this time fingers crossed that these are positive signs for you xxx Fingers crossed for exchage tomorrow too

Willmouse - sorry to hear that you are having a tough time at the moment I really hope that things resolve themselves soon. It is really not good when are bodies play up! Hope you get a lovely small microwave soon!

HM2J -I cannot beleive that you are still having hassle about your scan - thought that would be done and dusted by the time we got back.

Sturggling to keep up with all the news so sorry to all those that I have missed.

Well - we had a great hol - 4 out of 7 days on the beach (an not in coats in shorts and t-shirts!) not bad considering!! It was wonderful to get away, but back to reality and the pile of washing .

By my calculations I am 5+2 today - only have to wait until fri to see if bean is in the right place. Have had lots of twinges but no bleeding and no sharp pains so am trying to keep positive this time! Already have my 12 week scan date (but will be on hol again so have to change it!) but that makes it seeem so real

Will try and get back on more later but am drowing in washing at the moment!

ChocolateEclair · 01/06/2008 17:07

hi everyone!

Just got back from sunny Wales [crin]. Camping trip was excellent, great site, fab weather, kids well behaved and all went to plan! Had a few waves of nausea and mild cramps down low so very excited still!

Well done Knax! Congratulations!!!!! This thread is catching! You must be over the moon! Wishing you all the best for the next few weeks. Take it easy!

Soosy - glad FET went well. Hope you are taking things easy this week. Seems like all our baby dust got you at the right time! I have everything crossed for you xx

Bellie - good luck for first mini scan on Friday. Try not to be nervous, I'm sure everything will be fine. Let us know how it goes. Glad your holiday went well - weather sounds fab!

MJIM - sorry ds has been unwell. Hope he is feeling better now. How is baby? Been feeling lots of wiggles?

HM2J - hope you have had a more relaxing time over the last few days - don't think it could have got much worse! Funny about your dream though!!!...premonition???

majormoo - you found your memory card! yey! Good luck for scan (would you explain what it is when you have a minute? It's not the 12 week scan is it?sorry for being dim)

Hope everyone else is ok - juanitad, ceebee, HC, babydrip, BB and Mandy

ChocolateEclair · 01/06/2008 17:10

willmouse - Glad you are feeling a bit better. Hopefully it has all settled down now. How are the nursery/CM plans coming along?

Bellie · 01/06/2008 19:24

Glad you had a good time too CE

Not feeling nauseous yet, but very lethargic and cannot decide anything at the moment . Had this with dd too - especially early evening (ususally when time to cook so had lots of takeaways last time ). Will try not to do that this time, as really don't want to put the 4 stone on that I did with dd!.

Babydrip - there is hope - I had an ectopic and had my tube removed and 17 months of trying (20 months since ectopic) I got my bfp. Fingers crossed for you xx

Hope everyone has had a good weekend - still under piles of washing here!!

majormoo · 01/06/2008 19:30

glad you had a good break CE and Bellie

Soosy hope all OK with you. Hope you exchange OK.

Willmouse glad things are settling down.

Bellie/Knax-how are the early symptoms? Hope your scan goes well Bellie.

CE my scan is the nuchal scan which is done between 11-13weeks. I will be 13+3 which is later than they usually do it at Kings but I had to wait three weeks for a dating scan so could not book before that. The nuchal is the screening test for Downs and other chromosonal abnormalities. In our case this in the past showed up Trisomy 13, which is incompatible with life, so the scan is very stressful for us. Chances of recurrence are pretty minimal as it was a random event rather than a genetic problem, but still...

I have caught a bug and have been on the loo all day and feeling crap. Hope DD does not catch it-she has her first ever school trip on a coach on Wednesday and she is REALLY excited.

juanitad · 01/06/2008 19:35

Hi everyone,

Hope you have all had nice weekends. I went to see my mum and dad - haven't seen them since I was about 6 weeks pg, so they were very keen to see if I was looking different or if there was a noticeable bump. The conclusion was that you wouldn't know I was pregnant yet, but I do look a bit "thicker" round the waist. I am dying to have a bump now, as I still feel like a fraud! However, lots of people have told me that with your first you might not show until 20 weeks or more!!

Am currently doing all my preparation for going back to school tomorrow - all the work I should have got out of the way nice and early, but really couldn't be bothered and now I have to, I have no choice!! CE, have you worked out how maternity leave will work for you yet? If you are due in Feb, when do you think you will work until and when would you go back? My plan is to work until October half term, then go back to school for the last two weeks of the summer term, in July (just to get my pay back up), that way I get the summer hols fully paid! However you do it, try to go back just before a holiday, even a day would do, cos then you'll get your full pay again.

How has the weather been for everyone this weekend? Here it was lovely on Saturday but a bit miserable today, grey and dull and raining lots. We have even had the fire on today!

Anyway, that's all from me for now, I am just waffling now, trying to avoid getting back to my work!

ceebee74 · 01/06/2008 20:04

Evening all

I am so far behind on this thread = you ladies talk too much

Juanitad - I was still in my usual clothes until about 21 weeks with DS and had no real bump so don't worry! Hope you have managed to get some rest this holiday.

MJIM - how is DS? I really hope he is better as there is nothing worse than a poorly lo

Soosy - still got everything crossed for you

Bellie/Knax/CE - hope the MS stays away for you all

Hi to everyone else that I have missed. Surely HC must be back tonight?

Well, having convinced myself that 'bump' is a girl, I had a VERY vivid dream last night. I was going for a nuchal scan (which we don't have up here) and the sonographer asked me if I wanted to know what sex it was. He showed me between the baby's legs and it looked like there was a hand waving (complete with 4 fingers and a thumb)! I told the sonographer that it was the baby's hand and he said 'no, that is how all boy's bits start like and then they join together to form a penis'. It was so clear that I now think 'bump' is a boy - I had a vivid dream about DS at a similar stage last pg!

Right, best get on and do my nails

x

soosy · 01/06/2008 21:26

Ceebee LOL I think they now can tell at 11weeks! So perhaps your dream is sort of true! I wish I dreamt, I hardly ever do anymore, DS isn't the best sleeper so I tend to go into that dead sleep when my head hits the pillow!

Hello to everyone else, glad to hear you are fine Bellie, MS kicks in around 6 weeks peaking at 7- 9 weeks so you have a few days yet!

Majormoo, have fingers crossed for Nuchal, they are standard here in London, or is it that all my friends and I are old mothers! I am sure it will all be fine.

hello to everyone else, off to wash hair, DS back to school tomorrow!

MrsPuddleduck · 02/06/2008 14:05

Hi all

Just a quick check in.

I start my new job at the police tonight!!!!!

I have also started looking after my Godson (illegally speaking) on a Monday and Wednesday morning - he's my little guinea pig before I start childminding properly!

It also helps if the guinea pig's father is the Superintendent in charge of the department where I have just got a job

Nepotism eh ?!

Actaully wish me luck.....I am sh**ting myself on the quiet!

HumphreysCorner · 02/06/2008 14:28

Am back ladies thank goodness!!!!!!! Will catch up later but I see there is a mahoosive congrats for Knax-well done girl!

Must go as DD1 has wet herself again.

Bellie · 02/06/2008 15:23

Willmouse - good luck!! will be thinking of you

HC - Take it not so good then? Tell all later please. If it helps dd wet herself twice this morning at nursery - she is only there till 12.30!

Soosy - hope everything has gone smoothly today.

Got my midwife appointment today - 11 weeks for the booking in - and done at the hospital rather than at gps. Have moved surgery/area since dd born, but was still not expecting this still thought it would be a the surgery - anyone else have this? I'm not too worried but just surprised that was all.

Off to take dd to swimming lessons, will be back later xx

ChocolateEclair · 02/06/2008 16:45

hi ladies. hope you have all had a good day

HC - am intrigued as to how the holiday went now . Hope you are ok though....please come back later xx

Willmouse - hope the childminding went well. I think it's a great idea to practise on some other children! (that's what I am doing when I cuddle other people's babies! )

majormoo - thanks for explaining about the nuchal scan. i can understand how you must be feeling very stressed about it, and just want to get it all sorted. As you say, there is a very tiny chance that it would happen again, so I'm sure everything will be fine. Fingers crossed.

ceebee - great dream (if a bit bizzare!) !!! Will you find out the sex then?

Juanitad - hope your first day back went well. Also hoping you get your long awaited bump soon! I admit I can't wait to have my bump so I know exactly what you mean!

soosy - hope you are taking things easy and the house exchange got sorted. Are you symptom spotting????

I had an ok day back at work. Didn't feel sick or anything, just tired. I told my boss that I was pg and had doctors on wednesday. he was really lovely and almost had me in tears! . I'm having a very healthy tea of salmon and roast veg due to having McDonalds yesterday to my shame! (well it was at motorway services!!)

ChocolateEclair · 02/06/2008 16:46

ooo Bellie - I was thinking my appointments might be at the hospital as well as our doctors surgery is really small. We will have to compare notes!

Bellie · 02/06/2008 17:08

Oh CE - now I am craving McDonalds - last time I wanted one was when pg with dd!

soosy · 02/06/2008 17:26

We have exchanged!

Nice to see you HC, if only briefly.

Bellie, stay away from Macdonalds, it only leads to more macdonalds!

CE glad work was ok and today at least was good MS wise.

Good luck Willmouse with the job tonight, I am pleased that nepotism is alive and kicking!!!!

CE, trying not to symptom spot as with DS I has none, but with my first pg I had cramping and tingly boobs. But nothing so far, except I am feeling a bit down today, not entirely sure what that means at all!

Mandy73 · 02/06/2008 17:41

Afternoon ladies,

Hope you had a good w/e.

Knax, hooray for you, congratulations!!
Ceebee, great dream.
Willmouse, hope the new job is fab!
CE, I'm jealous of your nice healthy tea... Had chips & bacon in some combination 3 days in a row.
Bellie, I hope the appointment went well?
MJIM, wishing your DS a speedy recovery. Poor thing!
Soosy, what's this spotting then? Hope you're ok.
Juanitad, south coast was pretty autumnal but really muggy. Now I'm waffling to avoid work!

Sorry if I missed anyone!

I got the OPK smily face signalling LH surge on day 15 (yesterday) so been a bit... erm... busy. DH is v helpful despite being whacked with work & 'feeling old' and I can barely climb the stairs.

Mandy73 · 02/06/2008 17:47

Hi HC! Sorry I missed you. Do write more later.
Soosy, congrats on exchanging! We're hoping to do the same Mon 9 June... can't wait.

juanitad · 02/06/2008 19:22

Hi ladies,

Have finally put some piccies on my profile - 12 week scan (quality isn't great but you can definitely make out the bub!) and my bup/non-bump about 15 minutes ago!

ChocolateEclair · 02/06/2008 19:39

Awww Juanitad!!! They are great piccies! baby looks very comfy laid there! and I reckon you do have a tiny little bump....from that angle anyway!

Mandy - well done on the +opk and the BDing! I know how hard it is to be enthusiastic with it when you'vre been at work and are tired! (One story that made me laugh on here was someone asking her DH if she could just take on leg out of PJ's!!! !....made me laugh!)

Been to see my Mum and got the hamsters back after their visit! Think I might have a relaxing bath now.

Was it HM2J that had the doppler? I bought one but it's too early to hear anything yet. Was wondering when you heard heartbeat on yours if you are around!

Love to all xx

HumphreysCorner · 02/06/2008 20:20

Hi all

junanitad-yummy pics

soosy-everything crossed for you my girl-hope the spotting is a good sign.

willmouse-get you working for the Police. I need more details.

Mandy-go for it and just walk like John Wayne.

Well, all was going OK on the day we arrived until I sat down with a glass of vino and the PIL rang with 'surprise, we are 5 miles up the road from you, came yesterday!' So my worst nightmare came true and we saw them 3 times, DH even invited them for a Bar B Q so I had to cater. DD1 at nearly 5 wet the bunk bed and due to limited washing facilities-not good especially in the early hours of the morning. Didn't get one good night's sleep with rain beating on the caravan roof and the 2 girls dropping their animals out of bed. Then to top it all off things are not good with DH's job-his dad wants to sell 50% of the company so DH will probably get booted out in the end. Also our petrol perks will have to stop. Doom and gloom here, it really is. DH is considering selling the caravan as we won't be able to afford to use it. Then he is considering putting our house up as equity for buying his dad out. I really need to get a one way ticket to Spain.

Anyway, CD5 here DH once again asking if we can afford another baby. Am very tired so hoping things look brighter in the morning.

Love to all

HC - poor you Isn't life just sh*t sometimes? And just when you should be feeling relaxed after a holiday you get all this to deal with aswell.

Soosy - congrats on the exchange - must be very exciting for you.

Juanitad - great photos Don't worry about your bump as it will appear and then by the time you get to 40 weeks, you wish you never had it

Willmouse - I hope your first day at work goes well - from my experience, first day's are pretty easy anyway so I hope yours is too.

Mandy - I think we have all 'been there and done that' with the bding just cos it is the right time even though neither of you are in the mood! Tis worth it though if you get the BFP!!

Hi to everyone else

Just been out for tea - DS was a little star and sat really well in his highchair (which is VERY unusual for him) for at least 90 minutes!! Am now completely stuffed and very tired so will be going to bed shortly

x

Bellie · 02/06/2008 21:17

HC - - you were so looking forward to the holiday too. I really hope that things don't look so bad tomorrow.

Mandy - my appointment is not until Fri so still waiting - although today has gone very quickly so another day closer!

Ceebee - it is lovely when they surprise you isn't it

YEY soosy - another step closer to the move. Now fingers crossed for your FET xx

Great pictures Juanitad - wow things are progressing for you arn't they? Did you fly to Spain or go by coach? I ask as I am flying to France at 12 weeks and wondered how you felt?

Feeling completely exhausted here and starting to crave things - sweet mostly - really fancied Mr Kipling Apple Pies earlier - dh refused to go and get some as "you are not that pregnant yet!" so I had to make do with galaxy. Just seem to be constantly hungry from abou 4pm onwards. Trying to be goos, but the sweet cravings are kicking in big time!

Mandy73 · 02/06/2008 21:20

Aaw, Juanitad, how cute!

HC,

Ceebee - too right!

CE: "One story that made me laugh on here was someone asking her DH if she could just take on leg out of PJ's!!! shock!....made me laugh!"

(actually been making an effort to relax & have fun although that sounds like a contradiction in terms - popping into 'something a bit more UNcomfortable & whatnot )

Nite nite everyone. x

juanitad · 02/06/2008 22:00

Bellie, I flew to Spain. Normally I'm a bit of a nervous flyer, but I managed to calm myself down this time - it was either because of the fact that I was responsible for 40 kids, or maybe it was that I didn't want to get myself stressed as it could be bad for the littl'un, so I forced myself to feel calm. Anyway, it was fine. The flight was only an hour and a half, I'm not sure I would want to do much more than that at the moment.

MrsPuddleduck · 03/06/2008 09:48

Morning all,

Survived my 'first day'. It occured to me that this job really is nepotism at its very finest. The head of department is my best friend of 20 years' husband and godfather to DS1 (in turn DH and I are godparents to both of his DC's). My 'line manager' has been one of DH's mates for years - in fact he came to our wedding and I have gatecrashed so many of his 'works doo's' that when I walked in about 50% of the people looked up and said "Hi Nicki how are the boys?" etc . For HC's benefit - the job is phoning up victims of crime to check that they were satisfied with the way the police dealt with the matter and if not to try find out why. I haven't made any calls yet....I'm sure that will come tonight so I am still sh**ting myself! I'm sure once I've done a couple it will be fine. I've bought the scripts home to read so I can familiarise myself with what I've got to say!

Anyway......

HC - sorry that the holiday was a bit of a 'mare. I cannot believe your Inlaws turned up - and let's get this right - not only do they ruin your holiday they are selling the business from under DH? at catering for others whilst on holiday - it's the sort of thing my DH would do to me....

Juanitad - great piccies. Your bump will soon apear! I never got tired of mine! (other than after I had had the baby and wondered why it didn't disappear LOL!)

Bellie - I have never heard of having midwives appointments at a hospital. I am laughing at your DH saying you're not pregnant enough yet!

CE - keep up the healthy eating. Ime by the time you get your bump you feel so fat that it is your duty to eat chocotale/cream cakes while you can! Twirls and rock cakes were my thing with DS1 - will DS2 I tried to be sensible having remembered how long it took me to lose all of my weight from the time before!

Mandy - good luck with the Bding - presumably you are nearly on your 2ww - if not already!

Soosy - well done on exchanging contracts - I bet you are relived the way the market is at the moment. Are you going to be a cash buyer and offer silly money for houses as you can probably get away with it? or have you found somewhere to go? I find 'cash buyer is king' at the moment. Vendors would stampede to get you to make an offer! Good luck with it. Hope that the spotting has gone!

Hi to Ceebee and everyone else!

MJIM - hope you had a good weekend and that DS is feeling better.

I have now stopped spotting (finally - after 12 days) but yipee anyway!

Right - forgot to mention that the other reason I am sh**ting myself is that I have to phone brother in law today and hand in my notice. It could lead to world war three - I am predicting that I will phone BIL then as SIL doesn't work he will phone her and tell her and then she will phone me at home to put her twopennethsworth in.

Wish me luck.

Sorry its such a long post......anyone would think I was putting something off.......
