Hi all,

Well, I have been to the doctors and have been told (yet again) that it is probably hormonal. I have been given a prescription of Norethisterone (progesterone which stops bleeding). I have just been on the internet and it says not to take it if you are trying to conceive or trying to get pregnant. I am sat sobbing because I really don't want to take them (even though the chance is v v v v small) - perhaps is is hormonal then LOL! Also says on the internet not to take it if there is a history of breascancer (my Mum had this aged 37).

Perhaps I will see if the bleeding subsides again on its own. I think if it is hormonal I'd rather not take anything (DH will go nuts in which case as I have just wasted £7 on a prescription).

Dr told me today that CD1 is the first day that bleeding starts so I have been miscalculating for months. On that basis I am on about CD21 today and the bleeding started on CD16.

Oh God, I don't know what to do! What does everyone else think?

Right, I'm off to watch Emmerdale from last night and eat a couple of custard creams while I think things through.........

ChocolateEclair · 28/05/2008 11:41

oh willmouse - I'm so sorry you are going through this. I genuinely don;t know what to say

Shouldn't the doctor have asked you about family history of breast cancer and if you are ttc before giving this to you???? I don't want to say don't take it as I guess he wouldn't have given it to you if he didn't think you needed it, but it's your body and doctors don't know everything do they?

I hope someone else can give you better advice...I'm rubbish I'm afraid

BB - sorry the witch got you . I understand what you mean about thinking it's never going to happen, but I'm sure it will. Keep your chin up and remember each month brings new possibilities. As your doc rightly says, 5 months isn't that long, even though it feels like FOREVER!!!

soosy - any news on the time for tomorrow yet?

ChocolateEclair · 28/05/2008 11:46

I have been sick this morning!!!! How very dare the MS start so soon!!!!

(actually quite excited despite vomiting!LOL!)

Can't really work out dates but think I might be 5 weeks tomorrow!

MrsPuddleduck · 28/05/2008 12:06

Start some new stats off CE

I told you the vomiting would start soon LOL!

BB - so sorry that AF got you but at least the doctor is being helpful and giving you a date if nothing happens - much better than be fobbed off with the usual 'oh give it time'!

Willmouse - no advice either Sorry you are having to go through this and it must be hard not having the answers.

CE - lol at you being excited about being sick I give you precisely 2 weeks before you are on here moaning about how rough you feel and how crap it is (I can say that now I am through the crapness and am officially 'blooming' )

My hair actually looked ok this morning once it was curly and everyone at work has been complimentary about it so maybe it doesn't look that bad!

Don't want to spoil it for anyone who didn't watch the Apprentice last night but !

Right - I'm on a desparate mission now. The last time I bled mid-cycle was when I concieved DS2 but in the absence of 2005's calendar I am struggling to work out exactly what happened. I wouldn't be so bothered only I have sore (.)(.) (which can also be an effect of hormone imbalance aparently -grrr).

My due date was 5th April 2006 so I have worked out that my last period was 29th June 2005 I definitely had a bleed mid-cycle as we were on holiday at the time and I didn't expect to start until after I got back. It was towards the end of the holiday and was just for a couple of days - I had a v light period around the time AF was due which alerted me to the fact that I may be pg. Now all I have to do is work out when we went on holiday. As I remember my Grandad died on the Friday and we went on the Monday for 10 days - I can't remember the anniversary of my Grandad's death It was about 2/3 weeks after MIL died which was 12th June....what a year that was !

Back later when I manage to make sense of it all!

Yes, I suppose it is a bit odd me being excited about MS! (this is my first pg so I'm sure it will wear off soon!!

Just spoke to my dsis and told her the news! She was sooo surprised but very happy...said she would dig out her old pg books! My little niece was there (3.5) and she said to her "Auntie C has got a baby in her tummy"...she said she smiled and stuck out her tongue! LOL! Kids hey!

Thanks Soosy, that's really interesting & well explained.

Hi BB. I'm sorry. I know the feeling of it taking forever. Getting swimmer test sounds good though.

Willmouse, I'm so sorry. You are being amazingly brave & good humoured about this.

CE, well done, I'd be excited to be sick too.
Yeah, DH is a good guy. That's why I haven't got kids yet - took a while to find the right bloke

Ceebee, I'm sure you look lovely.

Willmouse, I am so sorry you are going through this. I hoenstly don't know what to say, but am sending lots of love & hugs

CE, I am also lol at you being excited at morning sickness. I too give it 2 weeks before the novelty wears off and you just wish that you would feel better. Oh, and I decided this mornign that there is no such thing as "blooming" in pregnancy. The only thing that is blooming in me is my nails. The rest of me either looks like rubbish (think acne, fuzzy face, dry skin and lank hair) or feels like rubbish (heartburn, itching, sciatic type pain). Still, I WILL enjoy it, being my last an all and I WILL look back with my rose tinted glasses and remember my "perfect" prgnancy, lol!

Mjim, enjoy the midwife. Oh, and I weighed myself this morning and gained 2 lb this week, lol! About time I say! Obviously the force feeding has done the trick.

Oh, 18 week clothed belly pic in my profile at the bottom (took first thing this morning, so look smaller than I do by bedtime. Must do a comparison)

Added my bits to the list:

OK - skip the whole message unless you want to fall asleep:-

Willmouse casts her mind back to 2005 ...

  1. If EDD was 5th April then date of last period was 29th June CD1.
  1. My employers at the time kindly decided to 'let me go' at the begining of July just before I was due to go on holiday but agreed to pay me my holiday. Found the payslip and I was paid until 18th July.
  1. This fits in with the following scenario - Holiday 9th to 18th July. Grandad died either one or two days before we went. Funeral was on the 19th (the day after we got back - also the day my Dad had a MASSIVE heart attack and nearly died)
  1. I reckon I started bleeding a couple of days before we got back which would be CD18, 19, and 20ish - which is a bit later than this time but still quite early iyswim.

On the basis of the above I am not going to take the tablets just in case. Basically I don't feel ill, I haven't really had any answers so what's the point in taking them?

ooooo yes very interesting reading! (well done Sherlock! !!) I agree - don't take the tablets then just in case xx

Lovely pic HM2J! a very nice little bump . Sorry you feel so rubbish though..good to have nice nails though! LOL!

I am off to do some grocery shopping while I am not too tired!

And going to conema tonight to see new Indiana Jones film

MrsPuddleduck · 28/05/2008 13:38

Thanks Myjob - I think it is unlikely but am not willing to take any risks when I don't feel bad in myself.

It would be a bad time really at the moment but I can't help but hope.

Now I have got all of that out of my system and have made a decision about things I feel alot better

Glad everyone else is so upbeat!

majormoo · 28/05/2008 14:10

willmouse in your position think I would be inclined to give the pills a miss as well. Maybe if things do not settle down go back or call just to check if it is OK what with TTC and your family history.

Soosy not long to wait now.

CE oh exciting that you are being ill. well, despite feeling rough. I have never been sick in pregnancy (although have often felt like death) so am a bit jealous! Clearly mad.

BB glad your gynae sounds encouraging.

Mandy great that you have had a frank chat with your DH

HM2J cannot believe you are 18 weeks

Enjoy you midwife appointment check MJIM-it is lovely when you hear the heartbeat

Ceebee glad you like the new haircut now. The apprentice was good-have a feeling the winner is going to be someone I do not like though

I am in a rubbish mood today. My phone broke so took in to a shop to be fixed. Between leaving the shop and walking about 10 paces I have managed to lose my memory card. Spent an hour going back and forth looking for it, but it is nowhere to be found. I have lost all the photos on my phone. Gutted.

Hope you have cheered up a little majormoo - sounds like a pants day . I can't believe you are nearly 13 weeks pg! It seems like only a few weeks ago since you found out!

Oh and I finally got round to doing my profile and have been brave enough to put some piccies on....
