Willmouse, please for me, as stress is a really bad thing before having an embryo transfer, do a test, preferably a first response, which seem to be the most sensitive! Also agree don't take tablets, did Dr do PG test?

No time for transfer yet, I hate this bit as they don't seem to understand how c**p it is waiting for the phone call!

I must admit to being worried that everyone is being so successful on this thread that I am going to be the one left....

Am bored today, as am marking exam papers (it's for one of the exam boards, so I am getting paid for it, which is keeping me going!!) As it's all online though it's taking me ages, unlike if it was the old fashioned way with a nice red pen!!

Hope everyone else is doing well today. When is everyone going to see the Sex and the City film? Surely it's a must-see!

MrsPuddleduck · 28/05/2008 15:21

Soosy, sorry you are sat waiting for the phone to ring - that really sucks . Don't worry about being the last one here, I am begining to feel that that will be me! LOL!

I don't think I am going to test. One, it is too early and two, they are too expensive (I have already wasted £7 on a prescription today - DH wont be very happy - we are on a tight budget until I can start my new job).

I don't feel at all stressed about things now, what will be will be.

CE - love the profile!

H2MJ - great bump

Majormoo - bummer about the sim card - you didn't lose it in the shop did you?

Hi to everyone else. There have been so many posts today! We should update the stats more often....everyone seems to crawl out of the woodwork!!

Soosy, I hope you get the call soon, I hate waiting for the phone to ring

Majormoo, it doesn't sound like you are having a good day either, sorry you lost your memory card

Willmouse, I agree with Soosy, you should do a test, it is worrying me too to be honest. I am glad that you feel better for having made a decision about the tablets, plus a good bit of detective work! Oh, I had the unfortunate "pleasure" of speaking directly to Miss Dixon this afternoon. Lets just says she has the manorisms of a bull elephant. Full story to follow in a sec to bore you all with.

I have had a bad afternoon. I am fed up with the NHS, if I EVER do pregnancy again, I will wait until I have scraped together enough money for fully private antenatal care. I am honestly shocked and appauled at my treatment from the hospital so far. Most of you know the saga re the referal for the fetal echocardiogram so far, so I won't repeat myself (any newbies wanting to know, please ask!) I have spent the last 2 weeks chasing and chasing the referal. Last week the OB's secretary told me that my notes had been filed away, no mention of needing a referal. She said that she would get the OB to dictate the letter ASAP and fax it to Birmingham Women's. I called Birmingham on Friday to be told that no fax had been recieved. So I call the OB's secretary again today and actually got......the OB, who was as rude as they come. She knew nothing about anything according to her, had no way of looking up my file (even though I gave her my hospital number) and told me they fetal echo wouldn't be done until 28 weeks anyway, even though I was told in March I would need to be seen between 18 & 22 weeks. As I am 18 weeks today and think that up until this point I have been more than patient, I literally let rip to the OB. I told her the care that I have recieved so far this pregnancy has been diabolically shocking and that she can expect a complaint coming in about my treatment in due course. She did try and say something after that, but I am afraid I was so angry, I put the phone down

I tried all sorts of people at my hospital today, but it is a bad week for getting hold of people, they are off on hols or at home with the kids, can't blame them! The OB's secretary is away until monday, as is the antenatal screening coordinator. In desperation I called the head of midwifery told her the whole sorry story, gave her all my details as well as DS2's details and low and behold, she called me back not 10 minutes later to say that she had spoke with the OB who was dictating my letter as she was speaking with me. It will be typed and faxed tomorrow.

Sounds like a result, but I was told this last week too, so I will call Brum again on Friday and see if anything actually arrives. Unfortunately, according to my conversation with the fetal medical centre at Birmingham women's today, there is a waiting list for cardiac related checks for baby, so it is unlikely I will get in at around 20 weeks, I am away for a week at 21 weeks, so the earliest I could get in is nearly 23 weeks. I realy hoped to have had my my put at ease before we went away so I can finally, truely relax for a while. I am desperately trying to keep my stress levels under control, but it is sooo hard. Like I said to the head of midwifery, it isn't that I couldn't cope with another child like ds2, but knowing in advance would be a huge bonus. Thankfully, I am sure baby is fine, although has been reacting to my emotions this afternoon and had a wriggle about, which it doesn't normally do in the afternoon. Fingers crossed for Friday or heads really will roll.

MrsPuddleduck · 28/05/2008 16:10

H2MJ on your behalf. Miss Dixon is a cow and completely incompetent - did you ever get moved to Mr Dapaah's list? She is going to do my Gran's hysterectomy next Thursday - I hope it all goes well. My Mum feels demented about the whole thing but couldn't get my Gran to change.

Can you pay to have the scan done privately? I know it goes against the grain but it would put your mind at rest (says she who is too tight to pay for a pregnancy test )

Heartmum2Jamie · 28/05/2008 16:27

I could pay privately, there is a clinic in Birmingham that does private fetal echocardiograms as well as private antenatal care. I was very tempted to go and bill it to my hospital, lol!

Ohh, and no excuse for not taking a test missy, I have a fair few spare including a clear blue digital, a sainsburys double pack and 3 internet cheapies that I can easily pop in the post. Let me know if you want them.

Heartmum2Jamie · 28/05/2008 16:28

Oh, meant to say good luck to your Gran, I fel for your mum. I have no intention of seeing the OB again, so haven't changed, will just cancel my appt when it comes, lol!

ChocolateEclair · 28/05/2008 17:50

OMG HM2J that's terrible! . Don't they know ANYTHING about helping pg women to stay calm and relaxed??? Have they ever been to med school??? I am in total shock and I really feel for you. (Honestly though it could not get any worse after last week!). Hope that this head honcho lady gets things moving for you.... I also think if you could afford the private scan then it prob would be worth it for your stress levels to do it tbh.

willmouse - LOL at being too tight to do a pg test! Maybe in a few days you could be persuaded hey?

soosy - hope the phone has rung and all the best for tomorrow *

I have made a doctors appointment for next wednesday. Not sure if there is much point but not sure how he whole pg system works in my area so would be good to start with him I think. Will have to tell my boss as could only get appointment at 3.20 so will have to leave work 1/2 hour early.

ChocolateEclair · 28/05/2008 17:51

honestly thought it could not get any worse

grrrr

MrsPuddleduck · 28/05/2008 18:15

CE - wait 'til you get piles

majormoo · 28/05/2008 18:59

HM2J that is shocking. Of course you are worried having had a baby with a heart condition before. When you are just treated like an inconvenience or just another number in the system it is horrible. How much would a private scan cost? Maybe it would be worth it if it isn't too much.

CE-really hope you do not get piles. I had them both times at about 32 weeks and it was AGONY. I drank so much water and ate loads of fruit and veg so was gutted when I got them with DS.

Juanitad-at least you are being paid for the boring work. I am not sure about the 'Sex and The City' film. I though the last episode was a great finale and would have preferred to leave it for them to leave it. Still, would watch it on DVD.

Willmouse really hope things get sorted soon.

I am still really grumpy about the memory card. Must have lost it in the shop but it was nowhere to be found. At the moment, DH is trying to wash kids' hair in the bath which is not going well, so sure they will be hyper when they get out of the bath, to try my patience further. Earlier whilst I was crawling around looking for the lost card, DD covered DS's hair in bright pink sun cream that is supposed to be for the face. I was so stressed I did not even notice my child had bright pink hair and legs until I bumped into a friend who said 'what has he done to his hair?'

Heartmum2Jamie · 28/05/2008 19:44

LOL Majormoo, it sounds like something I would not have noticed either. Good luck to your dh with the hair washing!

CE, I also hope you don't get piles, they are one of the most awful things about pregnancy I found

I just looked up the cost of private fetal scanning. A detailed anatomy & marker scan is £170 or the fetal wellbeing scan is £170 (birmingham). I wish we had it just lying around, but end of May to end of June is an expensive time for us with ds1's birthday, my birthday (30 very, very soon!), father's day, ds'2 birthday & my Nan's birthday. Plus ofcourse we are on our hols for a week (21st-28th) and that is always an expense.

I should even be having to consider private scanning as an option

how scary MJIM when they could not find the heartbeat. Glad all OK. As I am sure you will, I would keep a very close eye on movements just in case. I only say that as a friend of mine had a similar thing. Baby's heart rate would be fine and then get sudden dips. He ended up being delivered early, and I hasten to add is absolutely fine now.

HM2J - for you! It is the very very last thing you need at the moment and really shows the NHS for what it is doesn't it? Really hope you get something sorted!

MJIM - wow, what an eventful afternoon you had - glad everything was good though. Did DS behave himself whilst you were with the midwife?

Willmouse - as MJIM said, it does sound quite promising but don't get your hopes up too high - but I guess a test is the only way you will know

Majormoo - lol at the pink hair - you do have pg head so you are forgiven

CE - I bet it all feels so much more real now you have made a doctors appointment! Hope you are not feeling too rough today.

Hi to everyone else.

Have taken the day off work today as I am going shopping with my friend - mainly for maternity wear for me. The town I live in is absolutely rubbish for maternity wear - there is only DP's and Debenhams that has a matrnity section and they are tiny! So Trafford Centre it is for me today - can't wait! The great thing about being pg is I have to take a full years holiday entitlement before I go on mat leave in October - as our holiday year starts in April, effectively I have to take a full year in 6 months which means I have tons and tons of holiday to cram in - particularly as I work for the NHS and they are generous with their holidays anyway

Right, need to go and put some make-up on - hope you all have a good day and I will catch up tonight.

x

MrsPuddleduck · 29/05/2008 09:25

Morning all.

Nothing to report here other than have caught DS2's cold so I feel grotty and am still spotting but not as bad. By general agreement I am not taking the tablets (what a waste of £7.10 ).

Ceebee - enjoy the shopping. Trafford centre sounds like a great idea. I have never been but have always wanted to go. It is just a bit too far from us.

Mjob - glad your appointment went OK in the end. Sometimes information is too much information iyswim. Glad he/she is a wriggler though - that is a relief!

Majormoo - sorry you never found your sim card. I am laughing at your DS having pink hair though!

CE - good news on the doctors appointment! It's very exciting first time around - enjoy every minute!

H2MJ - £170 is alot of money - and June sounds expensive! We are just coming out of our most expensive month. Get this for the screwball inlaw's birthdays:-
BIL - 19th May
DNiece - 25th May
DNephew - 26th May
SIL - 27th May

GRRRRRRRRRR!

Perhaps wait and see if the fax has been sent yet. It is possibly worth phoning just before lunch today if the letter was being typed yesterday. It takes about a minute to send a fax after all and you will struggle to chase it up tommorow with it being a Friday and all. Good luck with it! I think it is a disgrace!

Heartmum2Jamie · 29/05/2008 09:30

MJIM, that does sounds like an eventful (scary) midwife appt. I am glad that baby is ok. As I have a doppler at home, I thought I had heard heartrate dips, but then figured I imagined them, maybe I didn't.

Ceebee, enjoy shopping!! Sounds like fun.

ChocolateEclair · 29/05/2008 10:17

morning ladies

pmsl at some of seeming to want me to get piles! grrr at you all

Very nauseous again this morning....it's the smell of the food cooking that does it, although actually eating it is fine! How odd!

Well, Indiana Jones film was a little disappointing tbh, wouldn't recommend it particularly. Sex and the City had huge queues so must be good!

Today DP and I are having a lovely day together and going out for dinner this evening with his family. (CE thinks they will all be looking at my stomach!). Must get packed up today for our weekend camping. Fingers crossed for nice weather in Wales this weekend!

MJIM - very scary midwife appointment! Hope you are ok and not too stressed

Majormoo - LOL at your ds's hair! Deff pg brain!

HM2J - very very expensive month for you. Not sure we would be able to justify £170 ourselves, and agreee, you shouldn't have to!

ceebee - have a fab day shopping. I have only been to Trafford centre twice but it's very good. Hope you buy loads!

willmouse - glad you are feeling a bit better, and decided not to take the tablets. You never know do you?

Is KNAX testing today????? Suspense here!!!
Good Luck!

babydrip · 29/05/2008 10:25

MrsPuddleduck · 29/05/2008 10:26

Hi CE - I remember that I used to have to make a point of not inhaling as I opened the fridge door at one point as it used to make me gag!

Yes, where are Knax and Mandy? I'm sure they are both about to test and have gone missing! Hope it is good news for them!

Mandy73 · 29/05/2008 10:40

Oooh fincers crossed for Knax.

Morning all,
Sounds like yesterday was pretty crap all round, hope today is better. I'm really shocked & sad to hear how you were treated HM2J.

Right, I'm off. Have decided I'm going with DH on his trip for 'full access' should I get the OPK -face over the w/e..

PS: Did you see Apprentice-Michael was an escort?!? I wouldn't pay for that.

PPS: Joining here has made such a positive difference for me. Thank you all. Haven't brought any of this TCC stuff up with friends because then it becomes 'all about that' if you know what I mean. xx

ChocolateEclair · 29/05/2008 11:28

Hi babydrip and mandy. When will you both test???? You should ideally wait until around 12-14 DPO to avoid false negatives, but plenty of us on here have tested before that! Call it research if it helps! (or novelty factor!)

mandy - glad this has helped you. I know exactly what you mean. We didn't tell any RL f+f that we were ttc, as we didn't want the "any luck yet?" every time we saw them! Too much pressure.

babydrip - sorry to hear about all your problems. You must feel totally blessed to have your dd after all that . Here is a link to the agnus castus stuff whenever you're ready agnus castus but the best sign of ovulation is def the egg whites IME
