Thanks guys! You seem v friendly indeed.

HC is the ov stick expert!!
Thanks Bellie! I'll see how it goes.

DP says I think of nothing else!
Thanks ChocolateEclair, I know the feeling. Upsetting me more than I want to admit really. Who's DP? (sorry, getting to grips with cracking the abbreviations code..)

Right, I shall come clean and admit to you friendly ladies DH and I haven't had the 'talk' about the fact that after 10 cycles no BFP and that I'm getting concerned. I'm dreading it. Feels like it'll add lots of stress. Naive of me to want it to 'just happen'? Well I suppose we're gonna have to have The Talk before 28 May when I start the ov sticks. Also GP wants to refer me in August if nothing.

MrsPuddleduck · 23/05/2008 10:31

Mandy, it can take longer than you think sometimes. It took me 12 months to conceive DS1 and we had started investigations - so it may be good to get started down that road becuase it can take a long time to get appointments etc and you never know you will probably conceive in the meantime! I conceived half way through the tests so never needed any treatment!

.....at this point we all give MyJobisMum a kick in the shins for conceiving in her first month of trying !!!!!!

DP means 'darling partner' as opposed to DH - 'darling husband'. If you look at the top of the page across from 'useful stuff' you will see 'acronym list' - but to be honest (or tbh!) there are millions of abreviations which do not appear to be on the list I think people make them up as they go along - wdeet?

Good luck with the sticks - HC will tell you where to get cheap ones of Ebay.

HumphreysCorner · 23/05/2008 11:44

Morning all

Hold off testing-as if! For research purposes only and of course it was a BFN.

willmouse-not sure about counting CD1 as I suspect it is some mid cycle blip never to happen again. BTW-it was Heartmum who struck lucky the first month of TTC.

Hello and welcome Mandy73. As willmouse said 10 months is not that long for your first although if you are like me I cried every month after 3 months of trying. After a year I was just about to go for tests when hey presto DD1 was conceieved. I am TTC No 3 and charting my temps on Fertility Friend and using OV sticks-the best value supply is from here. You can either have all OV sticks or a mixture of OV & PG test sticks for that all important obsessive testing. (Oh, that is just me that does that ) As I said to Knax, please stick around.

ChocEclair-my temp has stayed the same today at 36.89 but it doesn't say triphasic. When I look back at previous charts my temp dips and rises exactly the same as this month so not holding out much hope. Am 10 DPO so will test in 2 days at 12 DPO then 14 DPO. Think I will be back on that there Ebay buying more PG tests to feed my obsession. FF does tell you that you can still be PG even if your temp doesn't shoot up so everything crossed for you. Am having fun ticking all the boxes and getting lots of coloured squares on my chart.

Bellie-everything OK today?

Must go and do some ironing. Will be busy packing the caravan at the weekend ready for our little jaunt on Tuesday-that will pass the time. Waves to everyong else.

Bellie · 23/05/2008 15:42

well, all packed apart from dd's bed toys

Just waiting for the inlaws to arrive and then we will finally be in holiday mode.
Have decided to tell everyone that I have a waterworks infection so I won't be able to drink on holiday - just want to wait a bit longer yet! I think my mum might twig though but really don't want to tempt fate!

HC - sorry about the bfn, but research is always good. You may want to wait until Sunday before testing again though (for research of course )

Mandy - it took 3 months with dd, 3 months which ended with ectopic, and 17 months and just got my BFP. Started going for the tests in Feb this year and was waiting to go back and see the consultant in July, so if you are getting worried maybe it is worth taking the first steps.

Mjim - hope ds finds the puzzle fun but hard iyswim!

willmouse glad to hear that you went to the doctors, even though they wern't that much help. (could it be implantation bleed - whispers v v v quietly?)

May not be on now until Sun 1st June, but want lots of BFP's and gossip to catch up on please!!

fingers crossed for all and big waves!

ChocolateEclair · 23/05/2008 16:15

hi ladies!
I have officially broken up so DP and I have 9 days off together!!! woo hoo!!!

HC - you crack me up. I knew you would test today, I just just knew it!!! pmsl Glad you are not down about it though!

bellie - have a fab time on holiday and try to relax a little!

willmouse - I was thinking the same as bellie but didn't want to say

mandy - I think if you know you have been ovulating and know you have been BDing on the fertile days then the doc would see you after 10 months. However, is you are not sure you have been ovulating or have had sex at the right times each month, then that might be a positive step. You could do the ov sticks or try temping - it's really easy, and the thermometers only cost a couple of quid. It has helped me a lot as I ovulate much later in my cycle than I had thought so had been BDing at totally the wrong times! Good Luck
thermometer

MJIM and HM2J - LOL at you guys being 'kicked' by us for catching your eggs first or 2nd go! We are only jealous!

MrsPuddleduck · 23/05/2008 16:22

As much as I would like it to be an implantation bleed (and I did have one of these with DS2) I don't think it can be

Bleeding started on CD13 and so far this month (due to AF's long visit and DH's FA cup visit ) have only managed it once on CD11 - I would be ovulating mega early if this was the case!

Heartmum2Jamie · 23/05/2008 18:43

Oh, what a lovely welcome this afternoon, being kicked from all directions, lol! You know I nearly just decided to slip quietly off the thread as I didn't want to upset anyone when i got my BFP. I honestly wish it would happen as quickly for al of you too, although poor dh is moaning about lack of practicing, lol!

Welcome Mandy73! We are a nice bunch really, just mind the other's while they aim their kicks at me!

Well, ds has had an odd day. He woke early for him and did ok until lunch time. The he suddenly went whingy, cold and shivery, but flushed in the face (No obvious temp) and tired. I managed to get him into a pull up, which involved much tears from him. He fell asleep on the sofa, woke up briefly when I moved him to his bed and then continued to sleep for 3 1/2 hours . He'll be a bugger to get to sleep tonight, but I have missed him this afternoon, so will keep him up for a bit, especially as I have no lost to watch as it wasn't on in the US this week.

Right, best get ready to dish up cottage pie!

Mandy73 · 23/05/2008 18:47

I'm overwhelmed by your kindness, encouragement & knowledge.
Mjob, thank you, I know what' you're saying. Should talk to the guy. He's probably thinking about it too if I know him.
Bellie, thanks, and congratulations!
ChocolateEclair, thank you. Lots of sex but no clue if I actually OV. Last two years my cycle's suddenly been all over the place, 26-32 days, and weird CM, like something out of a horror film sometimes (sorry). But I'm healthy down below, so hey. Suppose all that stuff just changes over the years.
Enjoy the long w/e everyone. x

soosy · 23/05/2008 19:22

Just wanted to say really really massive hooray to Bellie, best news I have heard all week. Enjoy your holiday and the 6th is not that far away. I am so so so excited for you! I a keeping everything crossed.

Will post again later - S

HumphreysCorner · 23/05/2008 19:28

I've got that thermometer but from Babymad on Ebay-works so much better than the child's fever one I was using.

Don't feel PG anymore so won't test until Sunday and then Tuesday and that will be it.

Have a good evening ladies.

HM2J - you may have noticed that I didn't kick you so can I still be your friend?

Bellie - have a fab fab holiday and make sure you get lots of rest!

Am knackered tonight - roll on the second trimester when I get full of energy

Not got much planned for the weekend - DH is playing cricket on Saturday and Sunday this week which is just great! Although where he is playing tomorrow has a little playground attached to it so I might take DS down for a bit - although I just have this vision of him seeing DH on the field and running on to play with him

evening all-you have been really chatty so have only skimmed the recent posts, but hope everyone is OK
Firstly Bellie-congratulations

And Ceebee-oh poor John Terry. Think DH, FIL and BIL are just about coming to terms with it. The cake went down well despite the result.

Welcome Mandy/Knax

HM2J hope your DS is OK after the mix up

Willmouse have not caught up as to whether you have complained to the nursery yet, but I would expect to be told if they were implementing something like that with my child.Like CE said, you don't want to be labelled naughty before you have even started school. Hope your bleeding sorts itself out

MJIM hope all is well. Well my DD is 4 and needs lots of encouragement (putting it nicely) to tidy up so your DS is doing well. Although have to say the battle of wills tends to increase as they get older in my vast experience

Soosy hope all well with you

BB hope you are feeling OK

Have my nuchal scan on 3rd June-aaaah. It is not til 4.10pm either so I will be a nervous wreck by then.PLus they ALWAYS run late

HumphreysCorner · 23/05/2008 20:46

Ay up Heartmum-I didn't kick you either.

MJIM-1000 piece puzzle next methinks.

ceebee-you'll never be full of energy as the further along you get the older DS will get and be more demanding. Only joking!

Love to all

hi all.
don't be disheartened HC, and try and hold out for the testing!
I'm going to try and hold out
until 15 DPO if AF doesn't get me before then! Last month I had a bit of spotting at first and got all excited as that was what happened when I got pg with DS, then in the morning it turned into AF - boo hoo!
I really am knax today, as couldn't sleep v well, and even though DS managed until 7am it still felt like 5am!
Knax x

HumphreysCorner · 24/05/2008 09:07

Morning all

Had a temp dip this morning so doesn't bode well. I just think back to last time I was TTC and wasn't temping-I wouldn't have known about temp dips and rises. It is excellent for finding OV day but a bugger for playing with your emotions in the 2WW.

Have a good day ladies. Sorting the clothes for the caravan-at DD1's dancing last night we were chatting and most of them are jetting off somewhere hot. So want to go to Spain again but FIL has bought us the caravan to take the girls away so must get some use out of it.

HC - it's not over til the fat lady sings! Be positive!

HM2J - you will notice that I didn't kick you either! (I was just pmsl at the others kicking the wrong person!! LOL). Hope ds2 is feeling better today

knax - well done for holding out! I am as well! Will you test wednesday??? (I am!)

MJIM - I have a horrendously difficult puzzle he can have! I can't even do it myself! It was a xmas present - a picture mosaic one of Mona Lisa !!!! Might be a tad tricky just yet!

majormoo - good luck with the nuchal scan. Fingers crossed for you xx

ceebee - hope you are feeling more energetic! Are you still having MS? I reckon DH should let ds play cricket with him!

willmouse - hope the bleeding has stopped. I am worrying about you a bit . Hope you are OK.

hello Soosy - when is the FET? Can't be long now?

Hi to Mandy - glad you are feeling better talking to us all! We are friendly I agree!

Hope everyone else is OK and enjoying their bank holiday!!!

DP's 88 yr old Grandma is having a BBQ tomorrow (we are cooking I think!) and his cousin with the tiny baby is coming! Yey! I might get to hold my first baby in 4 years!!! ...am very excited!

No sign of AF here, temp has gone up again today! trying (and failing) not to get excited!

soosy · 24/05/2008 13:47

ooh CE keeping fingers crossed! Impressed about your DP's Grandma! even if you are doing the cooking have a fab time.

MJIM, perhaps you should now try meccano!

Willmouse, have no suggestions, but I have to say that after IVF treatment my cycle changes all the time. Glad to hear that Doctor was nice though - it does help.

Majormoo, i am sure everything will be fine.

I had second scan yesterday, everything fine have one follicle growing well, lining a bit thin, but I haven't had a postive OPK yet, so there is growing time! Got to keep OPKs over the weekend and go back on Monday. Hoping postive OPK before or on Monday! Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Hi everyone,
I agree with CE re everyone (v thorough CE!)
Major moo, all will be well with nuchal. When I had it with DS i was sick as a dog all day, don't know if nreves made pg sickness worse or was nerves.
HC stay positive and enjoy hols
CE I'm keeping verything crossed for you, I won't be testing til fri/ sat as I have long cycles, but let us know how you get on weds!

HumphreysCorner · 24/05/2008 19:20

Have hit the vino again tonight to make myself feel better. Was looking on the temping threads and one lady has an exact copy of my chart and just got a BFP. Dreading taking my morning temp because if it doesn't rise it will me a tad low even though it is only our first month of trying.

DD1 keeps asking why I stick the thermometer in my mouth, As we don't want to tell her anything, what do I say?

Hope all OK.

CE/Knax/HC - keeping everything crossed for you this week and hope AF stays away! HC - don't be too disappointed as it is the first cycle

Majormoo - shocking news tonight eh? Poor Avram I quite grew to like him in the end even though I thought it was a complete disaster when he took over from Jose (although Jose was god in my eyes - in every way )

CE - enjoy the bbq tomorrow - hope the rain stays away for you.

Am sat here twiddling my thumbs again waiting for DH to get home from cricket - tea is in the oven overcooking and I bet he is in the pub having a drink - grrrr!

Well Eurovision for me tonight - yippee!! I love it although I do normally watch it with a bottle of wine so it may not be as much fun watching it sober

Hope you are all having a good weekend.
