Help…. Is this my BFP or from my MC

Hi ladies. Help needed!

I had a MC at 5 weeks on the 9th July. Obviously I was devestated and I didn’t continue testing as i couldn’t face seeing the line fade.

if my cycle returns to normal I would expect my period early part of next week. Woke up this morning with sore boobs, which I didn’t have my previous pregnancy but do get sometimes with my period.

just for sh!ts and giggles I decided to do a test this morning. This is with smu….

I was gobsmacked when this came up straight away!!!!!

so the question is…. Is this a bfp or could it still be from my mc….

I tested positive for 4 weeks after my miscarriage - I miscarried on the 30th June and only got my negative earlier this week! It was lighter than this though and I was 9 weeks so further along than you were! It’s one of the reasons the midwife told me to wait for the negative test before trying again as they can’t be sure if it’s a new pregnancy or retained tissue.

yes I’m going to call them soon and see what they say. I stopped bleeding on the Saturday I believe. No I was never seen by them with the MC. They were supposed to call me but they never did 🤷🏻‍♀️

That makes sense. So annoyed at myself now for not testing 🤦🏻‍♀️

Don’t be, I only did because the EPU told me to and because I was further along I think it’s possibly more likely that I would have tissue retained. Having to continue testing wasn’t nice so I completely understand why you protected yourself in this way.
I was 4 weeks further along than you - which doesn’t sound a lot but in pregnancy it actually is (and I mean this purely as physical - a loss is devastating at any stage). My tests didn’t get darker they got light very quickly and just stayed there for a while until they disappeared. You say your last test with your loss was lighter so I can’t imagine this is the same pregnancy! I’m really hoping for you that this is a new one!!

@Rycbar I completely agree with you. If the hormones double so quickly then you would definitely take longer to get a negative test.

@Niiina no not yet. Really having a tough time getting seen 😭 I tried my Go yesterday and they had no appointments due to staff sickness and the receptionist was really rude to me so I couldn’t ask for advice. I called EPU at 8.30 and they said a nurse would call me back but hasn’t. So I’ve just done a e-consult request with my GP requesting blood tests to check HCG levels. So I’m still in limbo land 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you. I will keep you posted. I tested again yesterday and clear blue was still very positive. The pink dye much fainter. I also did a cheapie pink this morning and again a very faint line.

I wouldn’t expect 2-3 til either the weekend or next week. I believe AF would be due either yesterday or today 🤷🏻‍♀️

Spoke with the GP and she’s sending me a link to book a blood test…. Feels like this nightmare is going on forever

Is the appointment anytime soon? Frustrating that you can't get through to the EPU! Do you have a self-referral option?

I’m going for blood tests tomorrow. I called Early pregnancy yesterday ant 8.30am and was told a nurse would call me back…. And I’ve not heard from them! This is the second time I was told I’d get a call and they haven’t bothered with me. So frustrating

How did you get on with the blood test?

The blood test showed my HCG levels had dropped ☹️ so I’m back tomorrow for another blood test.

oddly though, I tested when I got home today at 4.30 and was shocked to see a darker line than one I had on Thursday with fmu 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ah sorry to hear this! What did they go from and to? Was it 48 hours apart? I can see it’s slightly darker. How many dpo do you think you could be?

They went from 60-45 so very low numbers. Yes 48hours apart

My levels went from 60-45. I think it was a new pregnancy but I guess we’ll never know. I have another blood test today so will see what they’ve dropped to today. I’ve just done 3 positive pregnancies and still getting 1-2 weeks on the CB digital

Thank you. That what we think. But I don’t think we’ll ever know. I have my blood test at EPU this afternoon so will speak to them when I’m there.
