Thanks for suggesting that I start this thread - its a real honour. Won't be leaving it yet as am only on cd24, despite getting bfps from the 3 tests I have done today (paranoid or what?!).
Lots and lots of babydust to everyone. If this pg is successful, I will have conceived in the midst of an awful cold so that should give everyone some hope. Lots and lots of hugs.....

thanks Munnzie & Hester. Am sure my Dr (who is lovely but childless) thinks i'm bomkers for geeting so obsessed about TTC. She said originally that all they could do was check my progesterone cos that would indicate whether or not Iwas ov'ing. that test came back OK but I think I'm not ov'ing. thats why I want to know what I should do next. have resigned myself after yesterday BFN to having the longest wait in history for AF. DH is away on and off for teh next 6 weeks and bound to be away at teh crucial times if i get any so am definfitely in teh mood for a whole pack of jaffa cakes!

munnzieb · 14/01/2005 08:49

rudy/hula, congrats on ur ewcm! like hester i've never had it (just the 'moist' feeling)

Jedds - don't worry about it gettin mad at the woman who's pg, ur turn will come hon!

LW - you could poss ask your dr for a referal to the gyno? I ahve no idea what goes on there yet but will let you know! lol.

DH IS HOME TODAY - YAY!! lol, yes it's been like waiting for xmas (yesterday was! lol) and I woke up at 4.30 this morning thinking i'd overslept and forgot to go to work - doh exactly! i'm here and in work, but still i'm going to try and get away early today! it's CD22 and I havesome twinges around my tummy but so far no AF which is strange as i've had all the signs of AF showing so maybe i've had the signs but now my body's saying hey screw u - just cos u don't wanna be on when DH is home it's tough ur gonna be! lol oh well.

Can't come on as much today either as the other girl is back in the office today who's comp I use - doh! (might send her home again! lol)

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 09:29

CD17 today. Well, after having a positive OPK yesterday, my temp has also risen by a fair bit this morning too Got to be good signs that I am OVing surely?

Made big decision about work yesterday too - going to resign from school and move over to do all 3 days at the prison now. School is starting to really get me down and I pretty much hate it there. As a temp measure from Easter I am going to do 3 days on hourly rate, but guaranteed days. But there is an Advisors job there I quite fancy - on a permenant contract, with sick pay, holiday pay, etc - which I think I will apply for when ad comes out next Friday. And DH has worked out that even without the enhanced mat pay from school, we are fine

Feeling very good about that decision today! And hoping that it may reduce my stress levels and help with TTC a bit too.

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 09:33

munnzieb - have a fab day! When do you get to meet up with DH?

Going to get some magnesium for me, and some zinc for Dh today I think - to help things on the way a bit more. Just have to persuade DH to to take the zinc now!

hester · 14/01/2005 10:05

Oh sparkly.... same thing here: no af yet, but BFN this morning I guess a miracle might yet happen for both of us, but I'm going to try to start focusing on next month (scary Scorpio baby!)

velcrobott - thanks so much for the advice. I've only got a few months left, so reckon I've got nothing to lose (except money!) by giving reflexology a try. Now, where do I find one? I'm sure there's been previous threads on this; will go and find one.

Hula - two lines AND a temp rise, how exciting! You must be really pleased. Oh, and congratulations on the job decision - sounds like a good one.

Munnzie - what time is dh home? You cooking him a lovely meal, or just disappearing upstairs with a pizza?

sparkly · 14/01/2005 10:41

Thanks everyone. I know this was only the first month of trying but I'm just so confused by it all. I'd actually forgotten what it's like with the waiting each month, hoping, testing and then inevitable disappointment.

I'm still waiting though - no AF - will give it a few more days and use the 2nd test.

Good luck to everyone!

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 10:51

hester - yes, I am really. After FF not detecting OV the last two months I felt like I was on a losing battle. This is giving me some hope!

runtus · 14/01/2005 12:28

Hula - sounds like a good decsion all round!

After the week from hell, all I can say is thank Crunchie it's Friday!

RudyDudy · 14/01/2005 12:46

hi all

quick question re. zinc - DH takes a multivitamin daily which has 100% of RDA for zinc. Is this enough? Not sure what the toxicity is for zinc - any ideas???

hula - what do you do at the prison? sounds interesting anyway. If you are feeling more relaxed now then you have definitely made the right decision. Good luck with the high temp - guess I know what we'll both be up to this weekend

hester - i think the international institute of reflexology has an online directory of practitioners so might be a good place to start. You could probably contact them and find one with experience in treating infertility.

hester and sparkly - sorry for the bfn/s . Waiting for AF is such a stressful time - thinking of you both and sending some babydust your way ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

munnzie - can't believe you were awake so early, take it easy today honey - you don't want to be too tired tonight now do you?!!! Have a lovely evening

LW - sorry to hear about your stress with the Dr. I saw mine this week as I was worried I wasn't ov but then EWCM has turned up so I'm hoping that's a good sign. How long have you been trying? Mine referred me to a gyno now although I've only been trying 3/4 months as it takes a couple of months to get an initial appt (I also have a history of endo and the waiting list for a lap is another 6 months on top of that). It would certainly be worth asking what the referral process is and if there is anything else she can advise. I wouldn't worry about not knowing what you are asking for - after all, it is kind of her job to have those sorts of answers! Alternatively - is there another Dr in the practice you could see who might be more sympathetic?

Hi Jedds - don't feel bad about the - it just means you're human! How are things with you? Has the evil witch gone yet?

God this is long! But there is always so much to catch up on! As for me, hopefully I'm Ov at the moment and will certainly act that way over the weekend , am still trying to revise for my bl**dy exams and have now been distracted by DH coming home last night and saying "I've had a payrise, we could get a bigger mortgage - shall we look for a new house???" - . Of course, I am a nightmare person to suggest this to as I am straight onto the internet and have already found what looks like a lovely house which we are going to see on Monday!!! All this, after we only moved into our (already lovely) house 18 months ago which we said we would live in for 20 years!!! Oh well...

Lots of love and babydust to all my ttc buddies
RD xxx

RudyDudy · 14/01/2005 12:47

hi runtus - sorry to hear that - what's been going on for you?

ps - do I get a prize for longest ever post??? sorry

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 12:55

Rudy _ at the moment I teach there one day a week. But I am going to look at doing 3 days a week (and resigm from my 2 days at school). Looking at an advisorers role too - but have to apply and get that. EWill definitely go for it and see what happens. If I don't get it hen I will do 3 days teaching.

RudyDudy · 14/01/2005 12:58

That does sound good hula - what do you teach? (Sorry for all the questions, just interested but tell me to bog off if you want!)

Runtus - just saw your thread. So sorry the clomid didn't work this month . I know little about it but as others have said it sounds like it will take a little time. Very frustrating I know. Try and focus on having a fab and wild time on your holiday and getting back on with it when you are back. (((hugs)))

btw OI HESTER - what's wrong with scary Scorpios???

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 13:02

I teach Business Studies there, but when I do more days it might change. Other subjects they ahve em ear marked for (yes - they are desperate for to go and have been pushing for this for ages!_ are IT (my school subject), drugs awareness, other life/social skills too. Or possible the hospital wing class - which is a bot more one to one and varied. The Advisors job I fancy trying for in one to one, on the house blocks, looking at one the inmates have in terms of education and talking about their futures, and then matching them to the right courses and workshops, etc. Not teaching at all - but I really like the idea of it.

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 13:03

BTW, no idea on how much zinc - I was just going to get DH a ragular multi vitamin type one.

RudyDudy · 14/01/2005 13:05

That sounds like an amazing job Hulababy. I have a friend who used to be a prison governor and has worked in all sorts of rehabilitation areas, etc and I think it is fascinating. I really hope you get it. I have a lot of admiration for people who engage in that sort of work. Good luck .

RudyDudy · 14/01/2005 13:07

just found some stuff on zinc and the toxic level is above 300mg a day which seems very high so I'm sure a normal supplement wouldn't go anywhere near that.

munnzieb · 14/01/2005 13:22

lol, yes Hester must agree no to the scorpios - (DH is a scorpio as is his mum - they're both stubbord as a bloomin ox and always think they're right!) i'm on for a january baby I think, or maybe March (i'm pisces and we're lovely! lol)

he's after sheppards pie and home made choc cake! lol. (bloomin cheek!) so I guess that's what i'll be making! He should be in about 6pm ish as he's currently in Swindon getting on the train home!

Sorry about the BFN hester. it will happen thou hon.

congrats Hula - hope u take full advantage of the OV+!

ooh and the girl I work with know's of two Ppl who are PG, (I know of one) so she thinks this month will be for me and i'll make her third person! - I can only wish! lol, but there's still space on my three for two of u!

This is prob last time i'll be able to use the net until DH has sorted ours out, so good luck everyone, and i'll chat to you on thurs when i'm back in work, if not b4!

Hulababy · 14/01/2005 13:24

I got a positve on my OPK yesterday and then a temp rise today; do I need to test again today? Or can I leave the other tests for next month?

munnzieb · 14/01/2005 13:30

I think it's just till you have the first + day hula. just BD anyhow! lol.

Jeds (jjust saw ur post on how much u and DH BD - How do u manage it that much! we start off well, everyother day for the first 10 days ish, then it's every 3 days ish, then by the week b4 AF it's once/twice a week ish, and AF wekk - wellm that's just a complete wash out! lol. so I guess at least we BD over the vital time! (CD5-15ish every other day) or is it best to bd every day in the week upto OV?

(don't think i could manage that, it's too knackering! lol

Wifeof · 14/01/2005 13:39

Byeee Munnzie, have lots of fun

Sparkly - maybe you've tested too early even though you're overdue? I didn't get a pos with my ds until I was 5 weeks. Good luck!

Good old AF for me, but have decided to take control and book appt with GP.

Also, need more OPKs. Can anyone spare me ploughing through zillions of messages and point me in the direction of the website that sells them online?

Cheers, Wifeof xx

hester · 14/01/2005 13:45

Rudy, there's nothing WRONG with scorpios as such, I just find them scary... I'm sure you're a lovely scorpio, though! [ingratiating smile emoticon]

Wifeof - I use medisave which are cheap, but a bit annoying because you can't do them in the morning.

Sallie · 14/01/2005 13:47

Hello - still lingering around here and keeping up to date with all your posts. How are those of you who have just started using Persona finding it? Best of luck to everyone ttc this month. Am only 5 weeks and still incredibly nervous as mc last time at 6 weeks. Have also been reading some very sad stories on the August thread....sometimes life just isn't fair is it?

hester · 14/01/2005 13:58

Hi Sallie, it's lovely to hear from you. How lovely to be nearly past those terrifying first six weeks. Hope all continues to go well for you.

I'm a bit lowish because of this morning's BFN. Reckon I have 3-6 months ttcing left, and then will be time to move on. So I'm going to really go for it, try to do everything right, and then at least I will know I gave it my best shot...

Sallie · 14/01/2005 14:20

Hester - please don't give up hope - after all, you were pregnant a few months ago so you know it can happen for you. I know it might sound trite but the best thing is to relax and enjoy the bd. I have a friend who was ttc for 2 years and got very wound up about it (as we all do). In the end she said she wasn't going to bother any more. She then went away on hols with her dh and came back pg......best of luck Hester - and to the rest of you. I feel very lucky to be pg although very anxious of course.

hi Sallie - thank you for dropping in . Glad to hear all is going well for you. I've had my second month with persona and it isn't working too well so far as this month it asked for tests between CD 10 and 17 and then on CD18 I got EWCM! Still, not blaming it as I had a 41 day cycle last month so I think it might take a bit of time to work me out. Am just glad to have had the EWCM so at least I know my body is doing something right!
