TTC over 35

Dreamingofthree · 09/07/2024 22:02

I just turned 35, I’m ttc my third.

we struggled with our first, long irregular cycles (stress really hits my cycle) and dh had variable sperm parameters.

deep down concerned it might not happen for us.

anyone else ttc 35 or over?

Keeping everything crossed for us all this cycle! 🤞
I'm sure I'm being too optimistic though for me because it's only my 2nd cycle since stopping the pill.

DaisyEM · 11/07/2024 11:41

@Dreamingofthree sorry to hear that, you do just sort of know don't you? Wishing you all the best for your next cycle.

@ByJollyZebra it's so tricky to stay chilled about it isn't it. I was all in on cycle 1, but I'm feeling a bit calmer about it for this cycle. I know I'll still be disappointed though if AF arrives.

I'm CD14 and just starting to get EWCM now, which I always have for 4-5 days. Started doing my OPKs but O shouldn't be for another 3-4 days yet!

ByJollyZebra · 11/07/2024 12:22

It's so hard! I don't remember been this obsessive with my last 2! 🙈
I'm only on CD6 so a while to go till ovulation. I need to not test early this month, I did last month and got a false positive which was difficult!

I just knew, like you said.

im consoling myself with the fact it was the first real month, last month only dtd once in the fertile window so not sure that one counts haha.

although had a moment of weakness in Asda when I saw menopause detection kits and momentarily wondered if I should get one

Hey everyone! I'm 35, trying for my first.

Was TTC for 2.5 years with my ex, ended in miscarriage at 11 weeks. Have since got divorced and now in a loving stable relationship with a wonderful man. We've been TTC since December 2022, unfortunately had 2 losses at 10 and 8 weeks. I had an HSG today (which was somewhat painful!) but apparently can be helpful not just diagnostic so we're on cycle 2 TTC since our most recent loss and trying to remain cautiously optimistic that I might have a boost over the next few months (lord knows I could do with some help with all this!).

DaisyEM · 11/07/2024 15:14

@Dreamingofthree we only managed once last month too, this month it'll only be twice. Hopefully that's enough as I honestly don't think we would manage any more than that 😂

Ah I totally get the temptation, but I very much doubt the test would indicate menopause anyway, but it's easy to feel down and wonder about these things when you realise you are out for the month. Hopefully you can enjoy a few treats while you're feeling a bit low (menopause test definitely isn't one 😅), and go into the next cycle feeling more positive x

TiffanyTaylor · 11/07/2024 15:27

Get blood work. Eat beets, Vitamin E / D. Walk everyday

Pinkmoon23 · 11/07/2024 15:30

Hi everyone, I'm 35 (36 in September which I'm dreading) and my partner is 40. We've been trying since April 2023 (we had a miscarriage June 2023 and took a couple months out after that). As we've past the year mark I am really struggling with me mental health tbh. Especially when everyone in my life has gotten pregnant and given birth in the time we are still left behind trying. It's so tough. Nice to join a supportive community ❤️

@ByJollyZebra @DaisyEM

Let's all be stressed together 😂
My oldest is almost 18!
I'm 37 almost. I've been TTC for over 6 months now and every month I'm more deflated xxxxx

Same 17 year old and I'm 37 I'm for my third! Baby dust to you- don't forget to eat your beets

secondtimelucky87 · 12/07/2024 19:55

Hi all can I join please? I've just turned 37 and husband is late 40s. Blessed to have one 3 year old DD who is my absolute world. It took 3 years to conceive her so when it finally happened (it was lockdown, we were both super chilled and making cocktails every day 🙈), I couldn't believe it. We're 15 months into trying for second now and wondering if it's going to happen. Husband's sperm analysis is borderline but OK. I've only had basic bloods so far. Thought I'd been referred for an internal scan 9 months ago but when I called GP today to ask why such a ridiculous wait I got the strong impression it had never been sent off in first place! So now I'm really wondering if I should just stump up for one privately as time just isn't on our side. 7dpo today but I feel the same as any other month so just waiting for AF now. Next fertile week will be when we're on holiday so I'm hoping that might help! Baby dust to everyone 💛

Hi ladies ttc no3. Done so many tests on nhs but normal . Desperate to comcieve . Trying inofolic but its not working. Unexplained infertility . I looked at another thread about clomid online ( tried in 2020 worked but ectopix then had natural 3 months later with my girl). I tried using the clomidqueen uk website like the user suggested but scared its a scam? Has anyone heard of it

Lochside · 12/07/2024 20:29

I don’t even feel anything down my lady parts after ovulation . Before my 2nd was born had so many twinges cramps etc . Now its as if things are hollow ! really odd. Tww past 2.5 years ive felt nothing so i fl like eggs not fertilised at all . Gtn stressed out . Thinking to buy clomid online but that clomidqueen uk i don’t know what to make of it

SkaterChick · 12/07/2024 20:52

Hi everyone, TTC my second.
Some of you might remember me from march time, I had what I thought was a v. Faint postive but it wasn't.
Actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise as I needed some minor surgery. I'm all recovered and ready to get back on that horse 😂

Got this line on an opk today, I used them briefly with my first and I think this is the darkest line I've ever had, I've also had ewcm Thurs/today so dtd today and keeping everything crossed. Going to be a LONG two weeks 😂 gonna try and find the time to squeeze in a quickie tomorrow if we can but got family visiting so today may have been our only chance this cycle.

@SkaterChick that’s a good dark line! I got my positive OPK today too 🥳

when does everyone time DTD in accordance to positive OPK? DH is unlikely to want to do two days in a row 😅 so I’m thinking tonight after positive OPK is best instead of waiting until tomorrow? We DTD Thursday too, so hopefully 3 days before O and 1 day before O will be enough 🤞🏼

DaisyEM · 13/07/2024 18:49

P.s that’s me assuming O will be tomorrow after positive OPK today, I guess it could be Monday?! So then I feel like if we DTD today and it’s actually Monday, then we’re probably not in with such a great chance. It’s like a maths test sometimes trying to figure it all out 😂

SkaterChick · 13/07/2024 19:48

@daisyEM I got an even darker today that looks to be a proper peak. We dtd last night but with family visiting we're not gonna have a chance today or tomorrow sadly so just gotta hope there's some strong swimmers in there 😂😂😂

I also actually didn't mean to post in his thread, im about 9months from joining 35+ club.

P.s click the image to open ... Id cropped it for the premom app.

On another note, can you get a dark near positive line after your peak? I assume the level would fade away but just drop immediately?
I ask because I've had what feels like ovulation pains this evening....

Nicola1988 · 12/08/2024 13:40

Hey. New to mumsnet👋
Been ttc for 8 months now. I turn 36 in oct. Had ivf for my daughter to my ex husband. She is now 8. We went through ivf due to very low sperm count (needed icsi), i was never checked for my fertility as a result. My cycles are 27 days regular. Been tracking ovulation for a couple of months and have been detecting the surge on day 12. My partner has had his bloods test done (all fine) and booked in for SA next month. Saw my gp and booked in for day 21 bloods on thurs. Feel like im totally spiralling and felt it would be good for me to reach out to others ☺️

Dreamingofthree · 15/08/2024 20:24

Anyone in the tww?

im 8/9 dpo.

temp is up. Lots my discharge than last cycle that was very dry. Pink tinged thick discharge today, then a glob of almost Ewcm but thicker and slightly yellowy.

not had this before. Think it’s out for me too
