Hi ladies.

It's my third month trying to get pregnant. I'm 39 years old, my partner is 40, and I've never been pregnant before. I'm dpo11 and starting to get nervous.

Is there anybody else in a similar situation? I'm just trying to find somebody who's going through this as well.

Good luck to all of you.

Haven't had that test either actually.

I'm 9dpo today and have line eyes. BBT dropped but too early for it to be AF.

Anyone else testing?

Worth having - esp if your over 35

Hertility health test 4 it

As do many private fertility clinic s

Its very rare for gp to test amh

NHS gp dont offer it in primary care

I got it done @ a private clinic

Ah right, fair enough, I had a sort of mot with various blood samples taken from me, swabs, and an internal scan. They then went through the state of my ovaries, how many eggs I had left etc. It then led on to further tests. It was really useful anyway!

Hello All, I’m really glad I found this thread.

I’m 42, been TTC for about 9 months I guess. Periods are regular as clockwork. Never been fussed re having children but one of those now or never feelings came along and here we are. Due to various life factors I’m not always with my husband on my most fertile days, but we were on hols through it last month.

I’m 20dpo (I’m not great on the lingo), and got a faint positive on a Waitrose cheapy test this morning. I’m not sure how I feel about it as yet, not told my husband….

Congratulations! This is a happy deliberate outcome isn't it, if you've been trying for 9 months?

If you're definitely 20dpo it might be worth doing another test with a different brand as it would usually show up quite boldly at this point.

ConfusedCrab · 21/07/2024 17:19

Thanks @sirensong and @PennyPencils, im still coming to terms with it I think, as I genuinely didn’t think it would happen, and still v early days of course. it’s the first test I’ve ever done, as my period always comes like clockwork. just fished it out the bin, maybe it is quite strong actually.

Hi everyone.

I am 39 too and trying for our 4th!

I am still breastfeeding my two year old so my Luteal Phase was shorter than normal until August last year. We've been trying since just before then.

I had a CP in June. Now still waiting for something more positive to happen!

We are leaving it to chance as we already have 3 amazing daughters. I do believe in fate and if it's meant to be then it will be.

Congratulations to all you ladies that have got your BFPs and Good Luck to us that are trying!

I still haven't made a decision
It's playing on my mind a lot
Such a massive gamble

Hey ladies...would love to know if any of you managed to concieve in the end and how long it took? Nearly 39, trying for our second and taking quite a while 🥺

BabyBorn · 06/03/2026 05:34

Hi @ChaE05yes, I did! I am almost 32 weeks now and I will be 41 this month. I worked on egg quality and healthy eating and stopped breastfeeding when my LO was 3 and it seemed to work!
How are things going for you?

ChaE05 · 06/03/2026 06:30

@BabyBornthats great to hear! Massive congratulations to you x
I have a 2 year old concieved first cycle. We have been trying for our second for 17 months now. Had 2 chemical pregnancies months 3&4. Nothing since. Everything has come back good aside from partners sperm DNA fragmentation is 19% (slightly higher) weve been working on diet, supplements for months and months now. We are at the point of looking into IVF. X

BabyBorn · 06/03/2026 09:29

@ChaE05I had been trying for around 2 years and in that time i also had two chemicals and a miscarriage. Sorry to hear that’s happened to you too. I feel that Ubiquinol helped massively. I was taking 400 mgs a day. I also stopped using chemicals on my skin. Apart from a little make up. Vitamin E and C are what are recommended too according to a friend that underwent IVF. Also i took a pure version of folic acid Methylfolate x

BabyBorn · 06/03/2026 09:30

Oh and a high strength D3 x

ChaE05 · 06/03/2026 09:43

@BabyBorni cant explain how reassuring that is to hear it took you a couple of years also!
I just cant ever imagine seeing 2 lines on a test again?
I am taking procieve, vit d, vit c, good quality omega 3, coq10 ubiquinol 400mg. Vit b complex, baby asprin. Other half having good supplements too so I feel we are doing well on that front. Minimal caffiene, not drinking (maybe 1 or 2 glasses a month) eating foods to help egg quality, olive oils, nuts, eggs, Greek yog, loads of fruits and veg. Limiting upf. I exercise, lots of walking and weight training. Not sure what else I can do but hope. Tried acupunture and really didnt like it x keep your fingers crossed for me! As you know, its the most difficult journey x

BabyBorn · 06/03/2026 14:08

Hiya! Are you taking any Methylfolate? That’s an important one. Also, too much strenuous exercise can stress the body which in turn can stop pregnancy. Maybe switch the weight training up for some weekly yoga sessions instead and see if it happens! X

Yes folate is in my prenatal. When I say weight training, I go max twice a week (most I can do with a toddler) so its not really intense just enough to keep muscle as im getting older. But yes I agree I should do some yoga or something as would help with stress xx

BabyBorn · 07/03/2026 03:10

@ChaE05i did yoga 4 maybe more times a week, nothing strenuous. I have a 3 year old and older children and was still breastfeeding. The month after I stopped feeding combined with all the other changes I fell pregnant and it stuck. I had also started acupuncture and was on my second session when I found out. I have continued that throughout my pregnancy. I have also done fortnightly reflexology sessions for years. Keep us updated! X

BurningOutt · 07/03/2026 07:44

Hi @ChaE05 im 39 and ttc #3 atm - this is only cycle 1 (though we tried in 2024 - I had 3mcs in that time and we gave up, but changed our minds again!). I’m on an over 40 thread atm (though not quite there in age!) if you wanted to join that!
