Hello all,

im joining this post as a 40+ after two failed ivfs ttc for 4 years. I have no medical issues, just age I think. Never had a bfp.

the last 2-3 months I’ve been experiencing weird shooting stabbing pains around 7/8dpo and cramping the last three months and unsure if it’s a cyst or implantation that fails. Currently 9-10dpo and having mild cramps after feeling nothing at all yesterday.
I will test daily from tomorrow but am expecting a bfn.
I hole to hear about everyone else’s symptoms and bfps though as they give me hope!

I'm 3DPO and having all my usual luteal phase symptoms - lower back pain, mild to moderate cramps, irritable mood and bad sleep. Joy! Not overly concerned, I remember in my previous pregnancy I felt exactly as I usually did during my cycle and wouldn't have known any different if I wasn't actively TTC so tested at 10dpo.

Less than a week until I'll test and time is going s l o w l y.

Feeling decidedly defeated today. AF type cramps at 6dpo, would love to think there implantation cramps but with the short lutal phase I've been having I fear it's just PMS. I can't say I'm surprised, super stressful month with life in general plus only dtd once on peak day 🙈

That is super frustrating @Lou0811 , hopefully the GP can give you some answers in the right direction, or perhaps a late ovulation and still chance yet!

@CSSL7 hi, thanks for checking in. yes I did, a BFN this morning at 12dpo which I was expecting as I have no symptoms. We suspect that my DH has infertility issues due to an undescended testicle as a child, but have to wait three months for sperm analysis. I might message my GP next week and see what tests I can have. I'm 35 and have been trying for 7 months, so hopefully they will take pity on me!
We'll keep on trying and eating well and hopefully have a bit of luck before then.

Ooh really I didn't know that, I don't know if I want to start googling sperm in case I don't get the right pages :D

@CorneliaB I might not be factually correct, I read some where and then others contradict it or phrase it in a different way anyway. I read that every other day is good, we usually stretch it to 2-3 to ease the pressure but the last few weeks have been a bit tricky.

with a lower soerm count we’ve been advised that every 2-3 days is good. To keep the sperm regenerating and fresh. If you have no issues with sperm y and count I think you can do it as much as you want. This was advice from our fertility clinic.

Update on me-
BFN today and seem to be bleeding lightly, 4 days early?! I’m disappointed but not surprised given age and partners semen quality. No idea what stabbing pains I had 7-8dpo were.

Just saw this post, we are in the same boat only dtd peak day this time round and about 5 days before that 😩 life just gets in the way some time s

@SummerSun24 oh good luck. How many dpo are you now?

I’m 3dpo now so still a while to go to find out. I’m not hopeful but we will see.

@Frangipani23 thats good to know. To be honest we only just manage 2-3 days for a period before it ends up slipping to longer durations. Oh no, so you’re bleeding quite a bit early than usual? How long have you been trying for?

@Blue2020 4 years, but interrupted by 2 ivfs but no viable embryos from those and no funds for more ivfs.

Feel very down, probably hormones, spent 3 hours this morning just reading mumsnet posts looking for signs, which I do every month, every month I think this must be the month and it never is.
Think I’ll take it easy and watch movies in bed with my cat. My bleeding is very light and just when I wipe but similar to past months before bfn.
I had very strong cramping with sharp stabbing pains off and on from 7 to 8dpo, then light cramps today at 10dpo.

7dpo now @Blue2020 but my LP is so short, 6-8 days so I should know either way soon!

@Frangipani23 so sorry, it sounds like it’s been a long journey trying. I do really wish you luck soon, if not this month then soon. I saw my friends go through a long journey and multiple failed ivfs and then they miraculously conceived directly after the latest ivf. Just adding a positive story, I know everyone is different but I do hope you get positive news soon.

@SummerSun24 that is quite a short lp, well good luck and I hope it’s good news. I think my lp is 13 days so I still have another 10 days I think.

Hi all, following along with you all. I am over 40 and TTC, irregular periods but still hopeful.

Symptom spotting 🙈
Flo says I'm 7 dpo. Pre Mom saying 10 dpo.

A few days ago felt really dizzy when standing up. Had a cramping/niggly pains on/off for the last 4 days. Tender boobs. Vivid dreams. Just feel meh.
BFN today. But I know it's early days.

Anyone else super aware of every little niggle, or headache, or smell.. thinking "oo is this a sign!" 🫢

A very early very nervous BFP today at 10dpo a literal squinter. I’m not getting my hopes up too much due to CP last month. My boobs have been absolutely killing me yesterday and today so hoping that’s a good sign. I wish I didn’t test this early but I just cannot help it x

Another negative test. Woke up feeling incredibly sick (again) day 19 of no show from AF and day 47 of cycle. Very frustrated

My ultra scan went ok. She said that I have a slight heart shaped uterus but won’t be an issue to carry.

I don’t think we’ve been successful this month, no symptoms besides sore boobs.

@Joleyjojo oh congrats, hope the line progresses for you nicely over the next few days. Will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Oh @Lou0811 this is very frustrating for you. I don’t really have anything to suggest but I really hope either a period or LH surge comes soon.

My AF arrived today, thankfully like clockwork. On to cycle 8 of trying. My DH has been on supplements for 2 months now so hoping success is around the corner for us and if not we have sperm analysis in October to see what we’re dealing with.

So frustrated for you @Lou0811 !! As above hope either AF comes or LH surge. Anything at this point I assume.

@CoolSummer89 I'm sure I read somewhere sperm is made about 8 weeks in advance?? So fingers crossed the supplements will get to work for next cycle!!

@Lou0811 i currently take folic acid and coq10. I might go for a more targeted fertility package when they run out as I really hate waste! Husband is on proceive, but I wonder if we should both be on Proceive Max. We’re trying to eat much better so I do hope that will have some of the benefits that supplements would bring anyhow
