I'm 47. Should I believe this?

Just turned 47 and got this result on an easy at home test (mid morning, same result mid afternoon)

5 weeks since last period (usually fairly regular at 28 days - been a little less regular over last few months, so assumed perimenopause was starting)

Not actually ttc, but definitely not doing anything to prevent it.

So.... would you believe this result?
Or could I be getting a false result because I'm in/near perimenopause?

I'm 47. Should I believe this?

Wouldn't it help if I could actually count??
When I checked my chart, I didn't ovulate til cd 22.....
So I'm really only 5 weeks TODAY - a week later than I originally thought.
Clearblue moved up to '2-3' on Saturday, and other test lines are stronger.
Early scan on Thursday , although it may really be you early to see anything if my revised dates are correct.
So much waiting and hoping......

I'm 47. Should I believe this?

My midwife told me you can't get a false positive-only a false negative.The menopause one is just a myth,it won't show a false positive.The clearblue digital ones aren't reliable,mine said 2-3 weeks and I was infact,nearly 4 months pregnant.Thats a definite positive-congratulations 😊

Sigh. It's NOT a myth.
Again, not the case of the OP but menopausal women CAN and do have HCG of up to 25miu/mg.

Rare but it does happen.

I'm 47 and if this happened, I'd be absolutely over the moon! Currently over a week overdue my period but BFN when I tested last week.

I'm rooting for you! Please keep us updated!
