Right, so I can't start this thread using anything like..."Here we go ladies!"

So, will have to come up with something completely different....

How about Congratulations Kay!

kayzisexpecting · 06/04/2008 11:48

Thanks Diege. I think he does feel excited but its not showing. I hope he will be more excited once I've seen midwife and had scans

Starshinetiger · 06/04/2008 14:41

Congratulations Kayz and Sorky!!!
That's so exciting - fabby news for you both. I'm starting to wonder what it will be like to want to test so early, as with DS, we fell first month and I admit that I didn't really think about testing until I was 6 days overdue and then it really was a clear line.

LG&T, so sorry to hear about DD and that I haven't been on this week to say earlier. Thoughts are with you and DH.

Nat, sorry to hear AF has arrived, but hopefully our tummy has gone down with arrival?! Yay for you trying this month though - not that you and your DH need much encouragement with GOFing.

BB & Cals, looking forward to hearing your news on Friday.

Teuch - love the new name, made my chuckle when I first saw it!

Very excited that we have our first BFPs on here. Quite a stressful last few weeks here, as my colleage has been off sick and I've been covering, including stuff I don't usually deal with, so I've found it quite stressful - good experience and opportunity, but has defo meant I haven't had time to get on Mumsnet this week. Actually am meant to be working now, as I'm on hols at home with DS this week and there's some stuff I have to finish off today to email into office... best close down Mumsnet then while I'm working (pah, as if!).

Stress makes me think that this month won't be ours though - that and the fact that I've been up late a few nights this week decorating too, so not much GOFing ... must work on that - am sure DH would be happy to hear me say that. Need to get decorating finished before MS kicks in anyway, as I couldn't do any of it for the first 4 months last time - even smell of cleaning fluid made me feel sick!

Catch y'all later.

kayzisexpecting · 06/04/2008 15:16

Thanks Star!!

I am hoping not to get Morning Sickness. I didnt with ds so fingers crossed.

sorkycake · 06/04/2008 20:42

so my testing today is as follows:

FR with fmu, test read outside the time, took apart and there is a faint pink line.

Sainsburys ob, Second mu, held about 5 hours, test positive but faint but coloured straightaway as liquid was drawing up the stick iykwim. Dh confirms there is a line but it is faint, but still coloured. Dug test out of bin and now can hardly see the line

CBE done a few minutes ago, negative!

Is it all a big fat cruel fake?

Am I pg at all?

I know it's very early at 10dpo. Does Sainsbury's ob give false positives?

It's doing my head in here

Shall I just wait until tomorrow and test with the second sainsburys test with fmu?

I only bought the CBE because they were bogof in Boots. I normally don't buy them as I hate them.

kayzisexpecting · 06/04/2008 21:01

Yeah try again tomorrow morning.

I was the same I did a digital and it was negative.

Look here it may help.

Diege · 06/04/2008 21:37

Sorky, I'm sure you'll be fine - it's a common pattern of test results you've got there when testing so early post-ov, and also not first wee with last test you did.
Agree with Kay, test again tomorrow first thing, and good luck, and sure you'll be fine
Heading up to bed now after a day of dullsville housework and getting dds things ready for school. I curse the day they wore me down with their nagging for packed lunches
Speak tomorrow, diege xxx

largeginandtonic · 06/04/2008 23:09

Sorky i am sure it is ok, a positive is a positive. Different tests have different sensitivities (is that even a word?)

Kay i am so pleased for you

DH and i are going to continue trying, we just feel that what will be will be and one thing this week has taught us is that planning gets you nowhere. DD is occupying my thoughts day and night atm so not sure how successful we will be.

I have also had a dodgy smear result back and have a Colposcopy booked for a week on Thursday. I would like some good luck!

NJ sorry about af my lovely, i want to share an antenatal thread with you anyway. So next month it is. DS#4 birthday is 27th Jan so really dont want a baby due then, guess what will happen!!

Must go to bed, am knackered and have my friend coming tomorrow with her 4 boys to stay the week We have 10 children between us and dd is the only girl, bless her.

YouCantTeuchThis · 07/04/2008 08:13

Sorky - First Response is apparently twice as sensitive as Clearblue, so it would take about 48 hours later before a Clearblue would pick up what a First Response has IYKWIM.

Clearblue's clever marketing has made people think that their test is the most reliable, when in fact it is only the readout that is clearer than interpreting lines/dots.

Good luck!!

LG&T - glad to see you back, and good luck for the smear. I need to have one done but I have been putting it off since before DS was born

sorkycake · 07/04/2008 08:17

CB positive this morning

Good luck LG&T

YouCantTeuchThis · 07/04/2008 08:20

Ah, see!! What do we do to ourselves with all these tests eh?!

Fab!

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 08:26

Morning,

Thats great Sorky!! Congratulations. I predict a good month for us!!

LG&T, Good to see you and thanks so much!! 10 children 9 boys[faints] OMG Your poor dd having to put up with 9 boys.

Good luck for your smear too.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 08:52

Good morning troopers

It's officially the first day of the holidays, can never decide if I am pleased when he is home with us, or if I just wish they'd open the school again!

LG&T how is it going sweetie? I have been on your thread, but just couldn't keep up, and felt way out of my depth, but as I said on there, if there is anything I can do, even if you just want to offload, my email is [email protected] (if you haven't already got it), or if you want, email and I'll send you my number if you prefer to talk, seriously, whenever you want (even at silly o'clock in the morning!) And re. the smear, I am sure you have had fact's and figures thrown at you about how many come back as 'abnormal' only to turn out that it is just that they haven't collected a decent specimen, or whatever. I am thinking about you, even DH asked how you were getting on over the weekend (he is never interested in anything that is even slightly connected to MN, so that alone shows how much I have garbled told him )

Sorky, glad you got the confirming result this morning, how exciting, and what a lovely way to start the day!

DS2 seems a bit under the weather, not sure exactly, I don't think there is anything specifically wrong, just not right IYKWIM? But his back teeth are making an appearance so perhaps it is to do with that.

We are off down to my mums this weekend, has been a long time since we went last time, the longest I think we have ever left it actually, so am looking forward to that! Might even wangle a night out with just me and DH, first one for ermmmmmm 3 years I think!

Anyway, I suppose I had better go and entertain my offspring! See you all in a bit xxx

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 09:03

Morning Nat,

Sorry to hear about DS2. I hope his teeth come through without to much pain.

I have my doctors appointment this afternoon. I feel really nervous for some reason.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 09:54

LOL Kay, I remember seeing the MW for the first time with DS2, she did a pregnancy test and I was soooooo scared it would come up negative, even though I knew it wouldn't! I still remember sitting there waiting for the line LOL

I have just absolutely pissed myself laughing at my sister, she is my youngest sister lives at my mums with her fiance and their puppy, who's 1st birthday it was on Saturday. Just been on the phone to my mum, she said they had to have a party, a proper one, with the fiance's family round, who brought all their dogs, they had a cake for the dogs that my sister made out of dog biscuits in the shape of a cat, and a people's cake again which she made into the shape of a cat, everyone bought pressies (gift vouchers for Pet's at Home!!) the dog had birthday cards and wrapped up pressies from people, and balloons and banners I have never heard so much shit in my whole life! Still giggling though!!

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 09:58

PMSL, thats so funny. A dog birthday party!LOL

I don't know why I am nervous at all. Hopefully this time I'll only get 1 due date.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 10:02

You will still get a couple of different due dates, you'll get one today, and then when you go for your first scan you'll get another, and sometimes the scan at 20 weeks produces another EDD, but they should all be within a week or so of each other, not spanning months like last time.

Is DH being a bit more supportive today?

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 10:14

Yeah, he is much better. I think it's because it's so early that there isn't much he can do. But he is constantly looking in catalogues.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 10:21

I remember DH saying how useless he felt all through my pregnancies, especially with how DS2's went and then the MC, he couldn't do a thing to make me feel better, and I think they don't see the baby as being real until they are born, whereas they are as real to us that second you get the BFP as anything. I can imagine how they must feel, DH always says frustration equals the excitment.

Men eh? They just take a little while to catch us up

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 10:26

Yeah, I think once I get a bump, had scans and lo starts kicking he'll be better. I don't want to wait 8 weeks for my scan.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 10:29

You could always go private, if you really don't want to wait.

I suppose I should go and get dressed really, maybe 5 more minutes!! LOL

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:12

Cant really afford it though. We're saving up for one of those 4d scans.

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:28

Looked into private scan but I still have to wait 6 weeks for 1 so I'll just have to hope the 8 weeks goes quickly.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 11:34

6 weeks?

You can have a private scan at 6 weeks. I think they are somewhere in the region of £100. TBH though, unless you have an actual reason to be worried (bleeding, bad cramps etc.) I wouldn't bother, as lovely as it is to see the baby for the first time, you are much better waiting till 12 weeks, there is actually something to see by then IYKWIM?

...says she who will be camped outside EPU until they give in and let me in!

kayzisexpecting · 07/04/2008 11:36

Yeah I know. It just seems so far away!!

I also want a bump! I am so impatient.

NatalieJane · 07/04/2008 11:40

LOL You can have mine

The time will fly by, much quicker than your first pregnancy, because you have DS1 to look after.
