Right, so I can't start this thread using anything like..."Here we go ladies!"

So, will have to come up with something completely different....

How about Congratulations Kay!

Morning, congrars Dis! Great news. This thread is turning out to be a lucky one

Cosmogirl · 15/04/2008 08:27

congrats

Disenchanted · 15/04/2008 08:29

hehe, tar!

calsworld · 15/04/2008 08:58

No, we can't start a new thread, this one's too lucky - you'll all have to wait until after my AF has finished, I've OV'd, GOF'd and 2ww'ed!

Dis that's great news! Can't believe you were poas at midnight!

I'm working from home today and managed to squeeze a couple of hours in last night after DS went to bed so don't feel guilty about popping on here throughout the day.

When's NJ back? I'm beginning to get withdrawal symptoms!

Disenchanted · 15/04/2008 08:59

I figured that if I did OV after CD18 and I got caught on my 21/22 BDs that I would be about 11DPO, lol, so did it!

calsworld · 15/04/2008 09:37

Dis, I think I'm OVing later than I think too, and starting BD obsession a bit early in my cycle, so this month will be super vigilant for any signs of EWCM.

I thought that I'd read an article somewhere about how your diet can affect the quality of your CM but can't find it now. Anyone heard of this or am I imagining things?

OP posts:
Broodybabywannabe · 15/04/2008 09:42

congrats dis!! cant say im not tho!! we must virtually rub you for luck lol!!

Whats this thing about EWCM, does having EWCM mean you are fertile?? xx

NatalieJane · 15/04/2008 09:42

Hello hello helllllllooooooooooooooo

Dis huge congratulations my lovely I am sooooo pleased for you after all the waiting

What a day to return???

Had a lovely time with my mum, wish I could say the same about 2 of my sisters, but I am not even going to go into it, one thing I will say though is that if I ever, EVER, turn into the sort of 'mother' my sister is I will call social services on myself! Anyway....

Have had a quick read through, (only took an hour! Do you guys ever shurrup??!!!! ) so I am up to speed, but can't remember what I was going to say to everyone!!

Kay, hope people are being a bit more sensitive now, and I had bleeding with both of the kids and they are fine, really try not to worry, I know easier said than done, but although bleeding in pregnancy isn't normal, it is very common, I think stats have shown about 40% of pregnancies have some bleeding. Hope everything is OK now.

Cal, BB, Cosmo, will put a search party out for your periods, I reckon they are too comfy on the wagon roof in the sun, they'll come back when it rains!

GJ, any joy with DH?

LL how did DH's interview go?

Tink, I have said before I have no idea on the chart, I haven't got a clue how it all works, but I hope something happens that makes it obvious what is going on soon.

I have been thinking about this wagon, I think now that most of us are deffo off it, we need something a bit classier to take us on our journey, what do we think to one of those poshed up tour coach thingymebobs you can see on that Cribs program? Y'know they have proper living rooms, and bedrooms, and bathrooms (because we will be needing the loo a lot for all the testing!!) proper stereo's and DVD players, we could call it something very cheesy to piss off the MN brigade, 'The TTC'ing Express'.... or 'GOF Transport, for the ride of your life'..... LOL

Sorry, ignore me, am in a rather silly mood today. Think I am still getting over the weekend and can do nothing but laugh else I'd just cry and stamp my foot!

NatalieJane · 15/04/2008 09:45

Cal, I think I have read about how your diet can affect the EWCM, I can't remember what it said though, I think someone might have linked to it on one of our threads, not long ago, maybe a couple of weeks?

MoosMa · 15/04/2008 09:49

Morning all,

Congrats Dis! When will you be testing again for your darker line?

LL and GJ, how are your DPs? I hope last night went well for you both.

Cal, you didn't imagine it, I've heard about the diet thing too, I think grapefruit juice was mentioned

CD34 for me today, no sign of anything but I think I OVd about 10 days ago so maybe AF will show up at the weekend? Oh Joy.

Which reminds me, where's Heron?

NatalieJane · 15/04/2008 09:53

Ooooh yes, grapefruit was deffo mentioned

Broodybabywannabe · 15/04/2008 10:10

NJ!!! welcom back!! you've been missed!!

Yes lets title the new thread something to do with GOF it'l be amusing ha ha!

Goangoan tell us whats upset you at your sisters? we will make you feel happy x

calsworld · 15/04/2008 10:23

Welcome back NJ! Oh yes, grapefruit sounds familiar to me too, will go off in search once more. CD3 for me now , but over the disappointment and revving up for another month of shagging . Did I just say that ?

Broody, read this, there's loads of stuff all over the net, just google cervical mucous! but the article I've linked is as good as any for getting the gist of things!

Come on Nat, spill the beans! I've a choice of reading about your grr factors or sifting through invoice queries!

OP posts:
calsworld · 15/04/2008 10:25

I googled "cervical mucous grapefruit juice" and found this...

will keep looking...

Awww thank you

Sister 1, haven't got on with her for years, she had a paddy because we didn't go to her house. We had already travelled 200 miles to my mums, with the kids, she lives about 50 miles away from my mums, has no kids, didn't even bother to send DS1 a birthday card, so because we didn't want to have the kids in the car for a long journey again, she stropped and wouldn't come to see us. No loss to us because as I said we don't get on. I got over that one pretty quickly!

Sister 2, her DH, and their 3 kids..... huge great big long story, basically Sister 2 and her DH are just the most selfish fuckers you could ever meet, to the point where even if their own kids are crying because it is 3 o'clock and they haven't had any lunch, neither of them will get up and make the kids a sarnie or anything because they themselves aren't hungry, and then on top of that they will yell, scream, shout, and bellow, and SMACK them (youngest is 7 months old FFS) at the kids for crying and playing up, WTF do they expect? GRRRRRRRRRRR. And none of what I have just said is the worst of it! If it wasn't for the fact that my mum looks after the kids pretty much all day every day, so I know she is in fact looking after them, I honestly would have rang SS by now.

Bloody families eh? I am just glad that we live so far away! And if we ever do actually manage to sell our house and move back down south, we are not moving within a 50 miles radius of them all!!

NatalieJane · 15/04/2008 10:35

Sorry Cal, didn't realise your period had come, I must have missed it while reading through it all!

Off to look through your links now

calsworld · 15/04/2008 10:37

this one has some other things about improving cervical mucous. Also highlights the ticking biological clock!!

Think I've been underdoing the water consumption thing in general so am going to swamp myself this cycle. Even if it doesn't get me pregnant, it certainly won't harm. Also, I bought mumomega but haven't been taking it as was saving it for pg, but it contains eve primrose so perhaps will start taking it now instead, as well as folic acid.

Everyone is taking folic acid aren't they? ROLL CALL!!!!!

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 15/04/2008 10:41

Pregnacare in this house Ma'am

calsworld · 15/04/2008 10:44

LOL at sisters Nat, your Sister 1 sounds a little familiar, however DH and I have been really crap recently and need to put some effort in. Its just so blimin hard when we both work full time, and I know I do whinge about it quite a bit, but neither of my sisters do and they whinge more than me!

Where is 'down south' to you NJ? DH's family are near Winchester, we just can't afford to move down there - and don't think I could cope being that close to MIL / FIL....although in my softer moments, they aren't bad at all really, the initial thought of it just seems scary.

at not feeding kids to kids timescales and at smacking them for being upset about it! Poor DC's . I wonder if they realise how much happier their DC's would be if they had regular healthy food going in to fuel them?

My DH has to transfer some IT over to new server last night, so he slept yesterday and went to work at 9 last night - he's not back yet! FFS what do they want from him, he's not going to be fit to drive .

OP posts:
calsworld · 15/04/2008 10:51

Broody? Dis? Teuch? LL? MoosMa? Cosmo? LG&T? Diege?

Come on, I need c/f of folic acid consumption or a promise to go purchase!

Kay - you're not excused? Playing? GJ? Sorky? Starshine?

Have I missed anyone?

ChoChoSan · 15/04/2008 10:51

Hello Everybody!

This is my first time posting on mumsnet, but I have been lurking around for a couple of weeks, and I have a couple of questions I was hoping for opinions on, as you all seem to be so clued up about the entire process, and willing to help those of us who are not!

My partner and I have being trying to concieve for 2 years now, and I start using 50mg Clomid next time I come on.

So far, all tests have shown no probs, so unexplained infertility. I have used ovulation sticks in the past whereby evidence of ovulation is a darker line than the control, and I think they seemed to work, but never a strikingly dark line. I gave them up after a few months though, as I didn't want to get obsessive about conceiving.

I was hoping for peoples' thoughts on whether I should have had a very noticably dark line, or just something that more or less matches the control line?

Also, I have a 26 day cycle, but wondered how late in the month it would be possible to ovulate...I don't seem to get any ovulation twinges or pains until about 6 days before I come on.

I also wondered what waiting lists for IVF were like in Waltham Forest borough...if anyone has any experience of this.

Your thoughts, ideas advice etc would be gratefully received...it's all getting a bit boring this whole baby making process now, and I am just reaching the point of beginning to get despondent, after stoically laughing in the face of failure up until now!

calsworld · 15/04/2008 10:53

Popcorn? Heron? Where are you and are you taking your folic acid?

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 15/04/2008 10:56

Down south is Bedford, crappy horrible place, but the villages around it are lovely, house prices won't affect us if we can sell this place, we will be renting - yipeeeeeeeeeee

Sister 2 and her DH, they are just sooo bloody selfish and bone idle, the eldest kid is 7 he is absolutely lovely, really sweet kid, until his mum turns up, as soon as she comes in the door he turns into a little shit, sorry but it is true, he went from playing with DS1 to hitting and kicking him in a click of a finger. The middle one, he is 2, he is a bit of a terror, but if you get down to his level and actually play with him, he is lovely, he just wants some attention. And the baby he was in his door bouncer for nearly 3 hours, the poor love was nearly falling asleep in it, I said to Sister 2 about him still being in there and she looked at me, waiting for me to say I'll get him, but I stood my ground and I didn't say anything, she completely turned her back on me and lit another bloody ciggarette! Left him in there, eventually mum got him out and he just flopped onto her and was fast asleep. All they want is some attention, she just literally completely ignores them, I think apart from bellowing at them, I saw her actually speak to the middle kid once over the whole weekend, once FFS. GRRRRRRRRRRR!

Your poor DH Cal hope he get's home soon.

Lot's of tutting and 'ing going on over the weekend!

calsworld · 15/04/2008 10:57

Hi ChoCho,

Afraid I have no experience on OPK's, figured they always seemed a bit tricky to me, but I would have guessed that a line the same as control would be normal, as with HPT?

Temping is a slightly easier way of finding out about OVing and you can either just take your own temperature and plot it, or buy a gizmo that records it all inside and then tells you when you are fertile - these are expensive though and I don't know anyone that's got one so don't know if they're any good. One of my old work colleagues used it as contraception and so far so good !

This is a lucky thread so you never know!

Also, it might be worth reading my earlier links on cervical mucous as that can play a part too apparently!

As for OVing in short cycles, best bet is probably to wait for Teuch to sign in, she's our resident expert on this thread!!

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 15/04/2008 11:02

ChoCho, sorry I don't know a thing about OV sticks, but I am sure one of the resident obsessers experts will help you out.

I think the legnth of your LP is probably the cause of the problem, if the LP is too short then it doesn't give the egg time enough to implant. I think there are some herbal remedys you can take to try and lengthen you LP, but I think that is what clomid does anyway isn't it? Sorry haven't got my thinking cap on this morning, can you tell?!!!

Welcome to MN BTW, hope the clomid does what's needed
