Right, so I can't start this thread using anything like..."Here we go ladies!"

So, will have to come up with something completely different....

How about Congratulations Kay!

Kays try not to worry, that said i know you will still worry its only natural, cant you ask for earlier apt to put your mind at rest?

kayzisexpecting · 14/04/2008 12:31

No because the MW is only here on Wednesdays and Thursdays because she is the MW for the whole area. I feel really sick now.

Broodybabywannabe · 14/04/2008 12:33

aw kays cant you ask to see your gp? it'l do you no gd sitting worrying? do you feel ok? you havent knocked yourself or anything? x

YouCantTeuchThis · 14/04/2008 12:38

Kay, try not to worry (I know that is almost impossible ) but this can really be very common.

If you would rather speak to someone then please do.

Do you have an EPU nearby? It is possible that you could speak to a midwife over the phone there. Be prepared to give as much detail as possible...do you have any cramps, how much discharge was there (i.e. on the toilet paper, on your knickers, a teaspoonful?), when did it start and have you had any more since?

If no EPU, phone your GP practice and ask for a phone number for a midwife, or phone NHS Direct and ask to speak to one.

kayzisexpecting · 14/04/2008 12:42

I feel fine in myself, no cramping really just what feels like normal growing pains that I have had for the past few days. There isn't an EPU near here. It was really a tiny amount of discharge, hardly visable and not had anymore at all.

Broodybabywannabe · 14/04/2008 12:44

oh thats gd then kays, just rest up !!! docs orders!!

kayzisexpecting · 14/04/2008 12:46

Apparently Scarborough does have an EPU but I'm on the phone to NHS direct but all I have is awful music.

Broodybabywannabe · 14/04/2008 12:47

hmm well better safe than sorry x

kayzisexpecting · 14/04/2008 12:49

Im going to ring the EPU instead.

kayzisexpecting · 14/04/2008 12:51

WOOOHOOO!!!

Rang EPU and they said its a implantation bleed and very very common at this stage of pregnancy.

I feel like an idiot!

lardylumps · 14/04/2008 12:52

oh kay i had bleeding in early pg with dd and she was fine. Try not to worry and if you are at all worried then call your local delivery suite they should be able to help you....

Ok so I have had a crap weekend on gof so tired and me and dp have been arguing all weekend (i know we are crap).

Teuch I asked on Sat but just need confirmation from our expert. On a 28 day cycle is the last day that you can possibly ov day 18?? (please say it is)..

lardylumps · 14/04/2008 12:57

diege said it was but i am needy and need everyone to say yes it is

Broodybabywannabe · 14/04/2008 13:05

um i say this with no actual knowledge but yes sounds gd to me

tinkerbellbringingsexyback · 14/04/2008 13:11

k glad that you have got an answer

kayzisexpecting · 14/04/2008 13:23

I dont know why I bothered starting a thread about it as all some people have done is said the MW is wrong and it cant be implantation.

What would you do? Would you trust the MW at the EPU?

Oufton · 14/04/2008 13:48

Hello, broodybabywannabee suggested i post on here and recommends diege is a authority on all things fertility! Anyway I was just wondering if anyone has experience of home fertility test kits.

We're heading into cycle 5 which I know isn't a long time compared to some people but we're both in our 30s (and TTC #1) and I'm worrying myself that there's a problem but obviously we'll need to be trying for at least a year to get any help from the doctor. So I was considering getting us both a home test kit just to help ease the worries - any advice?

Thank you x

lardylumps · 14/04/2008 13:50

Kay dont panic have you had any more since the last time??

lardylumps · 14/04/2008 13:51

Kay have you had anymore pink stuff since the last time?

kayzisexpecting · 14/04/2008 13:52

No none at all. I have been checking.

YouCantTeuchThis · 14/04/2008 13:55

LL - as long as you know that you don't have a luteal phase of less than 10 days (are you aware of how long from OV to period from past cycles?) then CD18 should be safe! Your LP shouldn't change from month to month, although when you ovulate can...

Kay - to be honest, I don't think it would be implantation but that doesn't mean it is anything more sinister. If you are happy to wait until Thursday then do that.

Oufton - no experience myself, although I was using OPK's. I think they take a month or two to 'get' your cycle but can be very helpful. Do you have regular cycles? If so, then cheapy OPK's from ebay are good enough but unreliable if your cycles are erratic.

lardylumps · 14/04/2008 13:57

Then I would do nothing for now. I dont think there is any reason to panic at the mo. Trust the midwife....

YouCantTeuchThis · 14/04/2008 13:58

Kay - the reason I don't think it would be implantation is that you the blastocyst (baby!) does not start producing HcG until implantation, so you would not have had a positive pg test. IYKWIM?

YouCantTeuchThis · 14/04/2008 13:59

damn, pressed 'post' too soon!!

I meant to say that it could be lots of things, and as LL says, she had bleeding and many others do too.

Try not to worry!

Oufton · 14/04/2008 14:01

Thanks Teuch, I was thinking more of the FSH testing kits you can get that apparently give an indication of "egg health" if there's such a phrase. I get ovulation pains so am pretty confident I'm ovulating but there's no guarantee that they're not hobbling out on zimmers

kayzisexpecting · 14/04/2008 14:01

I'll have to wait for my appointment on Wednesday with the MW and see if I can get an early scan.

NHS direct weren't very helpful at all. Asked me all sorts of silly questions and tried to work out why I have been feeling sick.

But they did say the GP shouldn't have made me an appointment to see the MW until I was about 8 weeks so I dont know why I am seeing her this week.
