Thank you. Hope you are doing well. When is your scan?

Not too bad thanks, still being given the run around with morning sickness 😮‍💨 not had a date yet, seen my midwife for the first time last week so just waiting on getting the appointment through now but don't think it'll be that straight forward.

They have me down for being 10 weeks (based on LMP), so whatever date I get for my scan will be based on that, whilst EPU told me that I'm actually a week behind due to longer cycles 🙃 so may actually be the case that I'll have to rearrange.

Hope you're doing well and wishing you so much luck for your coming cycles 🍀

Oh God the morning sickness is a dose I had it up to 20 weeks with my boys, I don't envy you.

I was a week behind too so don't worry, it all catches up. Thank you, I've been having loads of egcm much earlier than before my boys so I'm hopeful this month. Not tracking either so we'll see. Dtd every other day

I'm cycle day 14. I'm going to dtd every other day this month am I mad? I've done crazy days in a row and had no luck. I was at my obestrician for the boys pm review yesterday and he told me grief over my sons is preventing me getting pregnant. He said to drop the opks and just do it every other day. I think I'm going to give it a go. Hate relinquishing control though.

7dpo. Are you going to test soon?

Always good to try something different each cycle praying for your rainbow 🌈

First time, I had it up until second trimester, went away for a few weeks and came back with a vengeance but it's absolutely nothing compared to this pregnancy. I did get a few short days break last week so can't complain really!

Thank you, it's reassuring to hear that it's a fairly common occurrence. Oooh, I'm keeping everything crossed for you. It is definitely worth trying new things and methods, it's just all trial and error isn't it.

The month we were successful, I really wasn't well so wouldn't have been dtd but an opk showed that my peak had arrived earlier than it should have, and I took Benilyn the day after for my congestion. Now I'm wondering if that may have played a hand in it being a successful month. I had googled to see if it was safe whilst TTC (I wasn't taking any chances 😆) and I read that a lot of American women use something called Mucinex (UK & Ireland version is Benilyn!) whilst TTC and it seems a mixed bag on whether it actually works. Completely forgot all about this until my husband asked about it when digging through the medicine cabinet last night!

After my opk peaking so early I had decided that I was just going to dtd every other day for the next cycle as it was likely my best chance and would've taken some pressure off not relying on testing, so definitely definitely worth trying it in my opinion.

I agree, may just be too early to test. With my boy I didn't get a bfp until a week after AF was due!

Oh wow so did you dtd every other day for this pregnancy?

OP posts:
2BabyOrNot2Baby · 02/07/2024 11:42

Not for that cycle, no. I was going to start doing so the next month as I really didn't have high hopes due to being unwell. I think we'd actually only DTD maybe 3 times that cycle, the last time being late night/early morning before my peak but unfortunately once I hit my peak I just didn't have the energy so was completely ruling the month out! Took the Benilyn the same night as peak.

To be honest it did confirm a few things for me - that it really does just need to be one time to work, OPKs add so much pressure and it's perfectly normal if you ovulate at a time other than what's normal for you.

I've also seen a few other women on another thread have decided to try dtd every other day, not had a success story yet to report back for you, but it is only the beginning so time will tell

I've tried reading more into the Mucinex/Benilyn stuff and it still seems to be a mixed bag. It does kinda make sense as it's purpose is to thin mucus, a lot of women have seemed to have success when they've used it buuuut that could also just be coincidence.

All that being said, this is the second time I've gotten pregnant when I've least expected it. I know it's MUCH easier said than done, but if there's anything you can do or incorporate into your everyday life to help alleviate stress or pressure, I'd 100% recommend you do so. I think a lot of the time we put so much pressure on ourselves it's hard to manage/stay positive. I have complete faith your rainbow is on their way 🌈

I hope everyone is good! Had my scan at the EPU this morning, it is an intrauterine pregnancy but they said I need to wait it out and come back for another scan in three weeks to see if it's viable. I have no symptoms apart from bloating, trying to remain optimistic, stopped doing bbt and strips, only more stress, it's out of my hands, just got to do the best I can 🙏

Beanie14 · 04/07/2024 08:21

@RememberZen thats fantastic news!! Got everything crossed for you in 3 weeks.
I agree carrying on testing is causing a lot of stress. The first few months of pregnancy is super scary as it is.
I remember I only started having nausea after week 6. Before that I was just tired and bloated. Try not to worry about lack of symptoms. Some people don’t get any x

Beanie14 · 04/07/2024 08:24

Hey I started doing BBT with the ovusense core. Any ideas what I’m looking out for? What is my temp supposed to do to indicate ovulation is coming/happened? Currently cycle day 14 and waiting for ovulation.

OvuSense will detect when your BBT has risen after ovulation. So it doesn’t help with predicting but it does confirm.
I use the ovufirst skin temperature monitor not the core. It usually confirms ovulation happened around 4-5DPO which is good for me because it shortens the TWW as I’m already half way through the first week by the time I know I’ve ovulated.

Thanks! Yeah, trying not too, hopefully some kind of symptoms will appear soon, that would make me feel a little more positive that it's a sticky 🙏

Good luck getting to grips with BBt checking, I only started doing it a few months ago, I didn't find it that reliable with my cycles, it would just "estimate" when I'd ovulated, purely on BBT slight changes, it didn't seem to take into account ewcm or lh strips data, just overrode all that information, which I think is a little misleading. I think listening to your body, is probably the most important thing. Good luck to you this cycle!

Hi all, hope everyone is well.

I'm on day 4 of my cycle, after having a break last month, so will be back to it this month.

Funny you should mention the Benylin/mucinex thing @2BabyOrNot2Baby....I've seen a lot about that & I've got some benylin in as I've just had covid again, so it was helping my chest. I have thought about giving it a try, I think they say a spoon a day in the fertile window....🤞🏻

Ah sorry you were so poorly but on the plus side, you have some in to try if you wish to! 😁 Biggest downside is how awful it tastes 😖

I think I would've ended up trying it myself if DTD every other day the following month didn't work. It's crazy the things we'll try! Hopefully you'll have a positive outcome if you do decide to try it 🤞🏻

I use ovucore. Just pop in when your period ends. And usually about 3/4 days after you ovulate, it should confirm.

Thanks! I hope so, bloating and sore boobs have disappeared since yesterday, hoping they come back soon, give me peace of mind if I'm feeling some kind of way, I guess it's still really early at 5+5.

Every other day is what is recommended as enough so I’m sure you’ll have just as much chance.
we dtd most days this month purely because we’re away and the sun casts a spell on DH. I said we should be on holiday every fertile week - haha! The only day we didn’t dtd was ovulation day because we were both exhausted and had too many cocktails.

Try not to get bogged down with it too, as it can wreck your head. I use simply to see the temps rise. There's a Facebook support page for it too.

My nausea subsided for a few days last week but has most definitely made it's comeback so I do understand how you feel with that. Your body may just be giving you a little break. Don't forget, it's all hormonal and hormones fluctuate however they please 😊
